Hello,

First to thanks everyone that keep this coin alive and still have faith in it. Keep up good work guys, this community is alive, don`t you worried about that   Wink
Been a vile since I post here but from time to time got my eye on whats going on here.

So, cut to the chase, Oizo I need your help regarding coin swap...

Since I haven`t stake for a vile, when I start whitecoin legacy wallet(1.1.2.3) after reading posts here and all coin swap fuzz, it started to stake until February 26th around 11PM.
As all amount of coins are now in my wallet balance I tried to follow steps from your WCS guide.

Created a new swap address, followed by all steps afterwards but when I tried to send all amount of coins to that new(swap) address and after confirming amount of coins to be send, new pop up window occurs saying: "Error: Failed creating transactions". What could be the problem?

Note: My wallet is not staking right now as it says that I don`t have mature coins anymore. Ask if you need more info...

Thank you all again for your hard work

Cheers
B.

This is a flaw in every (alt)coin, the transaction consists of too many small value addresses. Try lowering the amount of coins send at once. and send it multiple times to the new address.
I can assist you in slack if you want, that's not a problem at all.

Yes, u can use coin control to select inputs. Only 1000 inputs can be used while sending a transaction.

Thank you Oizo and dev0tion, just finished with all the steps through WCS manual... Your tips were helpful

yes it's gone

Torihiki LTD bought mintpal, a company that has been setup 2 months ago, they contracted moolah to do the migration.
But he just run with all the funds after the fuckup, and now Torihiki LTD is saying that they ended all association with MintPal.

Many complaints at the police / FBI whatsoever runs against moolah/ryan whatever his name is.
In my eyes Torihiki LTD is the one responsible as they contracted him. (i even think it is owned by moolah/ryan aswell)

https://twitter.com/moolah_io/status/523707673922256896

It's another warning why people should not have all there funds at an exchange.
You can still try and withdraw the funds, but not many people have been succesfull

Oizo, first, i really cant say how much is appreciated what you did in a few weeks regarding White OS and now paper wallet  Wink

Big big thank you for your time, effort and nerves to finish this with success. Well done mate...  Smiley

Second, yup your wright about MP. Read some posts regarding MP subject and not promising they are.  Sad
Got stuck there with some founds (not much but... ). There is form of some kind withdrawal page but its not working and not memorized addresses which i put in appropriate field  Huh
Trying to contact them through that page but i`m not optimist  Sad

I can't say EMC2 is officialy dead. near a coma, right now but if ryan agree to build a team to put emc2 on track. It will only be known as a hard time we were able to go through in the life of EMC2.

Those that doesn't believe in emc2 anymore, you have the right to do everything you want with you coins. For those that still believe something great can be achieved, let's do it.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Desperate times call for desperate measures... so no more waiting!

In light of recent events and market price, I've decided to use my personal money to fund development of a swift transfer to PoS for EMC2. I was paid yesterday from my personal job and my bills are paid / food is in the fridge. I'm willing to make the sacrifice for those investors who believe in our goals and what we are going to achieve.

I'll be sending RelativeSource his payment of 1.5 BTC and our switch to PoS should not take longer than 7 days.

The website will be back online soon along with a brand new server.

The block explorer / rich list will come along with the new website server as well.

RelativeSource is ready to begin programming immediately and will be here to answer any questions for you guys.

Also, we'll be working on a new system of PoS that will help gather coins for science and show the total transparently in the wallet. We'll also have in-wallet market prices, PoS info, Chat, new design, and a tutorial on how to transfer your coins to the new blockchain.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Well, that's more like it, thanks for your personal investment. It brings 2things.1. The fund  needed,  and 2 confidence that there is some work being done.

+1

good news ahumanbeingx. can`t wait for that wallet  Wink

*UPDATE*

Hey guys, I just got back from a business trip to San Fran. Reporting for action.

Since the announcement, I've been speaking with some big developers in the crypto space in regards to some coin upgrades. The general consensus is that it's going to be hard and it may cost some money for the developers time and skills. With that in mind, I went on a search for the best possible developer for the job. I found 'RelativeSource' who is an extremely competent and experienced coin developer and he is up for the task. Not only that, but he is going to officially join the team as a secondary developer while offering support here on the forums. The only caveat to bringing 'relative' on-board is that he is going to need some initial funding for his time. Once funding is out of the way, RS will be officially brought on the transfer to PoS will begin immediately.

Help crowd fund our transfer to PoS with Bitcoin:
The cost of bringing 'RelativeSource' on-board and beginning immediate updates to the wallet + PoS transfer is going to be 3 BTC.

This fee will cover the following:
  • Bring 'RelativeSouce' on the team as an experienced coin developer. He will be available for support and questions indefinitely.
  • Develop a pure PoS wallet with silk-like GUI and functionality starting immediately.
  • 1:1 exchanging of coins while protecting the new PoS blockchain.
  • Create, setup and maintain the masternode.
  • Servers for hosting nodes.

Einsteinium (EMC2) Crowd Funding Bitcoin Wallet: 1BC7wLcJomTPSNqQM9emiKf9mhf5Le5jJ2
Goal: 3 BTC

ahumanbeingx, I need to ask you a few questions... Are we going to make EmC2 a new BTC2.0 coin or not? Asking because I see only ONE address for community donations and it is BTC address. What's with EmC2 address for donations? Is our future member allergic to EmC2? Why not accepting donations in EmC2? Do we have control of ANN page? If we have, it need to be changed asap, with new community info and donation addresses...

In this way, how do I know for whom I donate and which address. Also, RICH LIST still doesn't work and where is the transparency in this work?

cheers

are we here talking about DCM or EMC2?

I don`t care about anything else but EMC2 and its future... all it seams that nobody will answer and give some info about what are future plans (except POS implementation for whom we don't know who will be the leading Dev). Are the developers volunteers? Is there any donation money for that purpose? May I ask how many?

Rich list doesn't work for who knows how many long (show us info about wallets!).

FINAL ALGORITHM VOTE

This will be the final round of voting to decide between PoS (Proof of Stake) or PoW using some Scrypt based mining alternative. Please weigh the options carefully and make sure to vote accordingly. This new vote will be running for 2 1/2 weeks and concluded on Saturday, July 19th. Share the word and let's get as many votes as possible.

Write in votes will be considered and accepted if the member has an actual post history.

So what's it going to be, PoW or PoS? Is that your final answer?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=676509

Bump.

Why do we need such a long time for the second ballot? These enough time to make a coin dead!

Cause if not someone will cry when it's over Wink... Get on twitter facebook message about emc2... Make is so the coins not dead don't want for the coin

Just a friendly bump to keep people voting. The FINAL announcement will be made on Saturday.

done...

I urge you all to watch what is happening with vericoin before moving to PoS.

over the weekend mintpal was hacked 30% of vericoins  (8M) were stolen.
the devs fearing 51% rolled back their blockchain in order to stop the theft.

this has created a huge controversy which can be seen in full detail on the vericoin thread (and the various a news articles)

they did this because if a thief gains 51% of a PoS coin they can have majority control of the coin forever because they can stake and very easily keep creating new coins.

this is not the same thing as a 51% PoW attack that only gives the attacker limited control while they hold 51% of the mining power which in a healthy coin ecosystem is continually growing and supported by new miners.

PoS encourages hoarding and centralization of power more so than PoW...
the effects are amplified the smaller the coin.

I expect in the future we will see more PoS coins suffer from this vulnerability

If that is true, then the biggest threads are the exchanges since they hold big amounts of coins.

No, the biggest problem is the posibility of a roll-back. Not only vericoin, but every coin. No retailer will ever accept a coin from where a transaction can be rolled back.

No serious investor will ever touch any coin now they know that their investment can be rolled back to block#1.

Now cryptocoins become a gamble, so all we can hope for that gamblers will risk their money.

All of this, thanks to MintPal.... their security is not how it should be. They should be the ones that should pay the theft. Now we know about the possibility of a roll back....it's a bad movie...

agree with you mate  Wink

I understand but emc2 need to do something to survive and the majority of people speaking wish for PoS. Will it change the way Emc2 is seen in the CC sphere, i don't know. Algo switch or switching to PoS doesn't do a thing if nobody knows it exist. People need to use it and right now everything is just a big speculative bubble.

What help emc2 prevent the kind of events that happened to VRC is that a lot of coins are already out, so harder for someone to steal the coins and get 51%. The volume is spread on 3 exchanges so i don't think it could happen to this coin but we never know.

indeed the majority of people will only support an action which benefits themselves in the short term.. this is the problem that politicians in all democracies face when they make policy decisions. Its also why we have such a corrupt and broken fiat system.

this is why I gave up arguing the toss on this forum.. I only posted that statement because real world events have demonstrated very clearly how vulnerable PoS can be.

I would rather see the coin prosper and grow in the longer term but if people are willing to risk that for the sake of short term gains then I wont continue to waste my energy arguing... I'll just check in from time to time with a comment here and there.

ultimately if the majority of people get what the want and the price rises in the short term then people like myself who do not support PoS systems in any large way will have a chance to exit the system.

what happened to VRC IS very questionable. First of, you can ask yourself WHY and WHY ONLY VeriCoin? As I understand MP statement, there is suspicious that attack was pointed to LTC and BTC wallets too but they have better protection (speaking as a layman), and VRC HOT wallet has more coins that should have in time and so it happened.... MP was robed. BUT is it all that happened? Maybe there is some other scam in play, we do not know?  Roll Eyes
Just saying that PoS coins are not staked on exchanges except ones that are jointly agreed by the dev team and exchange (or am I wrong?). If majority of this community want PoS, it is OK to implement it, but there is need for major marketing activity after changes and much more... Anyhow PoS IS NOT the only solution.  Wink

Cheers

Hello everyone

I have been watching this thread from time to time and would love to ask few questions regarding leadership of this community and further development. I do have some amount of this coin and looking at what is going on for last couple couple of months is not promising.  Roll Eyes

So, cut to the chase:

* Is there still someone left from the original Dev crew?
* Is there any Dev (person or a team) that can work with this coin?
* Is there someone that leading this crew or it is community driven coin?
* Is there any healthy pool that have more then 100Mh(?) power? Why half or more of the pools from ANN page are not accessible?
* Who is the spokesman for the community if there is one or for orig. crew?
* Do you have organized people from orig. crew or community members for PR jobs for promoting EmC2 (Twitter, Reddit, BCT, IRC, Newsletters, Facebook, Instagram... etc)?
* Do you have any amount of money for putting bounties for jobs yet to be done (for example PR jobs) or you have team of people working in background?
* Do you have someone that is in direct contact with health and science organizations and thus promoting this coin?
* Except PoS, is there something else that is discussed for future steps in putting some volume in EmC2?
* What are future plans of this community and EmC2?

As I see that PoS subject is currently active, would like to say in that case this coin is for long haul and no daily pumps/dumps you see on other coins. So with already spread majority of coins to market there is less chance for one whale to fill his pockets and if people start staking there will be less coins to sell. Less coins to sell leads to price going up. Community must stop selling @ this low prices if it comes to PoS idea. For now, only I see is that community is dumping this coin for it self causing this prices at exchanges...

Just my 2 EmC2  Wink

Cheers
B.
