USB Asic Block Erupter - QUESTIONS
by
LD-ZOGY8

Hi,

I've been using bitcoins for a while, but I'm thinking about getting into mining for the first time.

It seems like the USB asic block erupter with a Raspberry Pi is the easiest way to get into it.

However I've got a few questions. Sorry if they've already been asked, but I can't find the info I'm looking for.

- What is the average profit per unit that people are experiencing? (I'm planning on buying one, save the profits, buy another one etc)

- How much bandwidth do they use? Would I be able to run them on the same net connection that I use to browse etc or would I need a specific connection just to mine?

- How much electricity do they use?

Thanks guys

Guess what? It worked. Commenting on an already submitted support ticket seems to be the minimum threshold for getting support tickets actually looked at.

Very fucking sloppy. But at least now we know how to get our requests for our own money actually looked at.

After opening a support request, that will sit there with no response until I post a comment to it.  Usually after I post the comment, "Support" will respond and process my withdrawal.  I have had two withdrawals processed this way and two that remain in the "Booked" state.

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to give that a try right now.

Cryptoxchange GIVE ME MY MONEY

Withdrawal to AUD bank account booked 30th Oct. Haven't received any money whatsoever.

No response to email, PM, helpdesk request so I am opening this topic.

Crypto would have to have the worst service of any bitcoin platform I've used. I am extremely fed up. I need my money; it's my own money which I earned by speculating on their site. It feels more and more like some guy from the country has just started a venture and gotten in over his head.

Unless this is resolved quickly, it'll be the last time I use them.

Cryptoxchange: If you bother to respond to this thread and ask me for the details, just check your email, PM inbox on this forum and your helpdesk - there's more than sufficient details there.  Angry

As the original post states, I will take any price (please be sensible though). Of course there is no damage from the reprogramming attempt.

Basically the Yubikey customization tool allows you to change the settings to whatever you want, however Gox yubikeys have a password set up on them which stops you from changing the settings. Don't know the password --> Gox won't tell you. So basically my attempt was finished before it started.

No point hanging on to two Gox keys when I only have one Gox account.

[SOLD] Mt Gox Yubikey
by

Hey,

I have one plain black Mt Gox yubikey (no logo) which I don't need. I bought two from this forum because I thought (wrongly) that I would be able to reprogram one of them to act like a regular Yubikey.

Will sell to highest bidder. Auction ends in 48 hours from time of this post. No reserve (will accept any price) plus 0.3 BTC for international postage.

This Yubikey has never been registered to an account. Feel free to wait until you receive it and confirm that it works to pay me if you like.

**Would prefer to just swap it for a vanilla Yubikey, so if anyone offers that it will take precedence**

Thanks in advance and happy bidding! Grin

So what happens when you make a bad trade and you're left with less than what you owe the exchange?

How would the exchange cover the trades if not enough people were depositing?

You can't owe less than 5%. In my idea, the 5% comes out of whatever left that you have to withdraw. Whoever profited from your bad trades will pay whatever you didn't.

I don't understand your last question.

Yeah sorry I was a bit tired and confused when I read your initial post. I actually think it's a great idea from a speculator's perspective, as long as there's enough trading going on.

If not directly for BTC at gox prices, perhaps there is a way to buy Gox codes that is more friendly to Aussies?

Mostly yes, but for example in the last 24 hours I sold at ~$14 on Crypto, and for a short time the Gox price was ~$10. (The greenback and aussie dollar are at about parity)

Or at least somewhere where I can easily get bitcoins at the current Gox price; would prefer not having to do a direct transaction with an individual, as I want to do it reliably at any time.

I want to take advantage of the price difference between Mt Gox and Cryptoxchange. However I can't figure out how to get money into Gox from Australia quickly and with low fees. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Trade - Gox yubikey for regular one
by
LD-ZOGY8
on 09/09/2012, 05:35:00 UTC
I bought a couple of Mt Gox Yubikey codes on here, with the hopes that I could reprogram the second one to store a couple of (secure, long) static passwords.

When they said that the Gox Yubikey only works with Gox, i thought they meant unless you want to reprogram it, in which case it will work like a normal Yubikey.

Unfortunately what they meant was that the Yubikey is protected and can't be reprogrammed without a passcode that Gox refuses to give out.

I have no idea why they apply this policy, but anyway.

I have one black unbranded Mt Gox Yubikey that I would like to either sell or swap for a regular, reprogrammable Yubikey. Taking all reasonable offers.

Reprogram Gox Yubikey?
by
LD-ZOGY8
on 06/09/2012, 12:51:42 UTC
By chance I picked up a Mt Gox yubikey quite cheaply, and thought I might try and reprogram it with a static password in slot one and an OTP in slot two.

However, when I try to do this using the Yubico customization tool, it says that it is 'protected'.

1. Is it actually possible to reprogram a Gox Yubikey, or have they locked them down with a password?

2. If I do manage to reprogram it, will I be able to move the OTP into slot to and still authenticate using Yubico servers?

3. If not, is it possible to set up my own server to authenticate with services like Gmail?

Cheers
