We're very excited to kick off our ICO and start putting land in the hands of our token holders. We've recently had to move the kick-off date to 20 April 2018, 00:00 UTC to ensure we have the right approval documentation in place - our priority is keeping your investment safe.

In the meantime, we're working on exciting things to make sure we hit the ground running on our ICO date:

Great question, and thank you for your continued interest!

Land/property will be listed on our platform in 2 main ways:

1) In the beginning:
Landcoin purchases the first few plots of land in the name of its investors (a plot will be held in escrow by a legal third party, with the relevant legal documents made publicly available to the investors). For the first few plots of land, we'll let the LDC token holders send in their proposals on which land to buy via a "low-tech" way (e.g. sending them by email). Our property investments team will then shortlist 5 options based on feasibility, and add in their own if necessary, then submit these 5 options to a smart contract vote (https://www.ethereum.org/dao) among the LDC token holders. Landcoin will take care of the purchasing, and (by default) the management of the land, though the investors can of course propose and vote on a different management agency.

2) In the longer term (est 2019):
As LDC starts to become more established, backed by the first few plots of land, we expect to see some landowners wishing to sell their land accept to receive an LDC payment instead of fiat currencies, based on the promising value of Landcoin and our significantly lower selling fee (compared to estate agents). They can then list their land for sale on the Landcoin platform. Investors will then also be able to buy part of these plots of land for sale on the platform.

20,000,000 LDC is the total supply, not the initial supply offered for the ICO. We of course do not expect all LDC to sell out during the ICO, as indicated in our whitepaper (ICO subsection in the Business Model section). This is a standard practice for many successful altcoins.

Our goal for the ICO is to raise enough funds in ETH (approx. US$1M equivalent, though this is not a hard limit) to purchase the first Landcoin plot of land in the name of the initial LDC investors. As Landcoin takes off and more and more plots of land or properties are listed on the platform, the total supply will then act as an upper bound to defend the value of the LDC token. This is also detailed in the whitepaper.

Of course, if you have any feedback on this process, we more than welcome it.
