Re: Where are the true believers of Bitcoin?
by
LastHope99
on 17/11/2018, 16:33:44 UTC
I think true believers just hold their btc without any panic, as true believers were smart enough to research the market along with its previous cycles before investing. We mustn't mess true believers with people that bought btc on hype while knowing nothing about it.

Re: How did I lose money for Bitcoin?
by

on 17/11/2018, 16:31:28 UTC
I started researching and investing in Bitcoin from February 2018, at that time 1 BTC was priced over 8k $, I bought 20BTC and then the price started rising. When looking at Bitcoin price charts in December 2017 I was very happy and thought I was lucky to invest properly! Then 2 months in March 2018, 1BTC was priced at over $ 11k, I was happy and decided to buy another 50BTC, I thought I would be a millionaire! But not! Then the price of BTC started to fall and I lost a lot of money! I was scared and did not understand why the price of BTC decreased! As well as buying BTC, I was fomo, invested a lot of money but did not understand what I was doing. Then I calm down and explore the market, and I realize that everything has its causes and rules! I started the trader and gradually recovered the lost money! I know a lot of people like me, invest their money without knowing what they are doing! I advise people to research thoroughly before bringing money to the market! And according to my personal opinion, the upcoming Bitcoin will drop to about $ 5k before rising again! invest your money wisely, it is your decision! good luck guys!

Thank you for sharing! Do you expect btc to fall under 5000? I think 4200-4400 is possible as well. What's your view on this?

Re: Does holding really make us avoid losses?
by
LastHope99
on 17/11/2018, 16:29:00 UTC
At no point does holding any commodity not work for investors. The only debate is the duration of the hold. A loaf of bread 100 years ago cost $0.07, the median home price was $3,200 and a gallon of gas was $0.15. Today the average cost for a loaf of bread is $2.43, the median home is $200k and a gallon of gas is $3.00. In the U.S. there’s a tool you can use to determine the cost of living increase yearly, it’s called the consumer price index or CPI. If bitcoins value relative to the US Dollar only increases by CPI every year you will gain an average on 3% on your holdings. What that means is, at least you won’t lose money.

Look at it this way, if you hold $10,000 dollars in a wall safe for 100 years that money will buy somewhere between $10 and $500 worth of goods and services when you open the safe. If you hold a bitcoin on paper wallet in a safe for 100 years you will be holding anywhere between $30,000 and millions.

Great insights! Thank you! Holding btc makes sense.

Re: Is Bitcoin for the people or for the corporations?
by
LastHope99
on 17/11/2018, 16:26:52 UTC
When Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies first came out, everyone were saying that it was for the people to get their financial freedom. Now, it seems like it's being taken over by big financial institutions. Should we be worried?

btc is for people. But corporations are also made of people. Btc is for everyone, but that's true that btc is now partially usurped. At the end of the day, btc price is now relatively low, so everyone has a chance to buy.

Re: is currently the right time to buy bitcoin
by

It's definitely a good time. You can buy 3x more btc than the last year. Btc price will recover, the only question is time. But if you "ok" to wait, then now is the time to put some of your shares (maybe not significant, as we're probably somewhere in the mid of the bear market) in btc. I would name 20% of what you're going to spend on btc. Not financial advice, though.

Re: Bitcoin is independent? or depends on fiat currency
by

Btc is really dependent on stablecoins like USDT, TrueUSD and to so on. If these coins are liquidated, btc will have a harsh time, as major trades happen on stable coins/btc pairs.

Re: Did you ever regret having gotten into Bitcoin?
by
LastHope99
on 17/11/2018, 16:19:57 UTC
I never did. Getting involved with Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency as a whole was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Yes it was, and still a bumpy ride. But it's all part of the process. Whatever misfortunes we encountered or experienced in this journey are results of our own decisions. Meaning, we have no one or nothing else to blame but ourselves. Bitcoin/crypto has nothing to do with our losses. It is an opportunity that could turn out good or bad for us depending on our decision making.
I regret that at Bitcoin when I put a coin into my wallet I forgot my password and I regretted it when I lost all the coins I got and I will not repeat

Hmm...why do you regret that? Take it as a paid lesson. There's no need to regret things that are already in the past. Learn your lesson and move on. I never regret my involvement in crypto. Why should I if I can exit any minute?

Re: Need bitcoin control?
by

In the foreseeable future, each developed country will create its own crypto currency, provided by the national currency.

How much can this contradict the very idea of Bitcoin as a free, decentralized system?

Need cryptocurrency state control?

This will only lead to another centalised system controlled by a few individuals. I don't see it happening anyways for as long as there are Decentralised systems in place, which many will prefer than the later.

True. But it's not in the human nature not to suppress and enslave others, unfortunately.

Re: Blockchain - Killer or Savior?

Blockchain is a killer and a savior at the same time. It all depends on how to use it. As for now, the blockchain is not used as a technological solution at the mainstream level, but it may change in future.

Re: why should governments allow bitcoin to continue grow?
by

hi there
I wonder why should governments allow bitcoin to continue growing?
after all, they want to have control over the money that we are using

I am sure, governments are already started taking steps towards controlling crypto, btc, etc. So the more advanced they become in this, the faster btc goes mainstream. The popularization of crypto will be accelerated by times if governments have financial interests in this.

SEC will approve anything related to btc, but only if it's financially reasonable for SEC. So it's possible in 2019, but hardly until crypto bottoms in.

If the fall of a dollar happens, that will be a great collapse of the world economy. Possibly, even if btc goes mainstream, it won't wipe dollar off the scene. The coexistence is possible.

Re: Does the death of Bitcoin also mean the death of cryptomania??
by
LastHope99
on 12/11/2018, 11:26:09 UTC
The death of btc is just the death of btc. Although it's not possible now, if it does happen, that would happen most likely because some crypto replaces btc. In that does happen, that would be rather a natural process than something unexpected.

Re: What happens when the last bitcoin has been mined? [Year 2140]
by
LastHope99
on 12/11/2018, 11:15:15 UTC
Nothing will happen, as there's absolutely no chance btc will remain the same until those days. It may be displaced by other giant technological coin and go into oblivion. The other chance is that crypto won't be an outdated technology in even 10 years, let alone 100+. No practical use to think about that. What happened with dial telephones in 100 years after the invention? The same destiny awaits btc.

Re: Why hitbtc often eliminate coins abruptly
by

on 12/11/2018, 11:12:53 UTC
Suddenly KBD coins are eliminated.

Why?

Do they actually announce this or what am I missing?

Other exchanges would tell in front, that these coins will be eliminated. Why not hitbtc?

They do it to make money. Moreover, they charge unreasonable fees after the removal.

Re: Are the banks going to kick-out bitcoin with their new digital coin
by

Banks will rather buy the already existing coins, exchanges, technologies. That's already happening, so they don't even need to invent or create something. Every tool is already available; just buy and then control it Wink

Re: What happens when bitcoin becomes stable?
by

on 12/11/2018, 11:04:42 UTC
When Bitcoin becomes stable, the price of Altcoins will increase again. People will not have to worry in panic selling now. The market will have more many trading. However, the crypto market will never stabilize mainly is because of it's popularity that exponentially grows.

but this btc stability must be achieved at a good price. I expect altcoins to grow when bc reaches 8000 at least.
