ultra-low liquidity Alts... a good trade?
by
Len Saldua
on 24/02/2025, 20:01:35 UTC
Finding myself once again ( like most of you out there ) losing money with Alts.
Could there be any way to make money on this down trending market?
How about ultra-low liquidity Alts? Hear me out. These are tokens normally ranked
outside of the top 5000, not necessarily Memes, just small projects that have taken
a beating much worse than most. So the one I'm looking at has a trading volume of
around $100, yesterday it was under $1, so this is as low liquidity as you'll find in crypto.
Market Cap is not even listed on Coin Gecko, but it's a safe bet it's really low, as this token
isn't even ranked. So how could me, or anyone make money with this? Well, I've been
tracking it's price action and it goes up and down like a slow moving Yo-Yo, although at times
it stays flat. The thing is, it doesn't go up 10% or 20% like most volatile tokens, this one goes
up $1000 % or even !800% on any given day. You can probably guess that is short lived as it
comes right back down, sometimes, within hours of going up. Over the long run, price movement
is bearish, but you could say that of any other top 100 token these days, so what difference does it make?
Well, the idea here is to "get in, get your 10X, then get out" . Seems simple enough? The catch is
it's only listed in two exchanges, although one of them has a good reputation, and has been around for many years.
Worth a try?

Re: Akash Network deactivated?!?

I should have taken a screen cap of the announcement when it happened. I never thought a FUD announcement could come out
of Coin Gecko. Whatever it was ( perhaps the page was temporarily hacked or something ), Akash is back on their pages, although
ranked 175. This may be a good buying opportunity for anyone looking to get into A.I. projects as I've never seen Akash ranked that low!
The project is still going strong from what I know, demand is high for what they offer.

Akash Network deactivated?!?
by
Len Saldua
on 18/02/2025, 09:28:34 UTC
I saw a very strange notification posted on Coin Gecko today. I had bookmarked Akash as it's
one of my main A.I. plays, and when I loaded the page it said: "Akash Network has been inactive and deactivated"
So I think they've removed Akash from their listings, even though it's a top 130 Crypto! I know from my own research
the Akash network is one of the busiest in the entire A.I. crypto space, so I did not buy into this. I did go into
Coin Market Cap and sure enough, they still have Akash listed there and 90% of users are bullish on it.
What gives? Why would Coin Gecko be trying to spread FUD on a top A.I. project like Akash?

Wow, no response. I guess this is another reason why people could argue crypto will never make it as money.
I have an issue with remittances ( the receive address is not valid ) and there's no technical support or anyone to
call even many days after posting my question on the forum. Will a 65 year old go through all that and figure out
the solution himself ? I don't think so... More likely, they will STILL use something like Western Union or World Remit, where
you pay a small fee, and get your shit sorted within hours. "Set and forget" type of approach. Yes, it might not be decentralized,
or techie, or blockchain based, but damn, it works and does what people want.
Tech support or phone support ( or even email support ) is something that is very important to people, with crypto you're
on your own if something goes wrong, that's it, you're screwed.
And by the way, the nethwork ethereum fee for my remittance would have costed me 15 USD, as I said. 15 USD! for a little test transaction
to see if it works! World remit charges me a $3 USD fee for the whole process and I know it will work. So where is the advantage of crypto?

Okay so I just confirmed with KuCoin that the receive address they gave me is invalid. So I'm about to ditch GCash as a viable option.
While I was doing my transaction attempt, I did notice that the ETH network fee was $15 USD ! To simply send a $10 test transaction!
Are you serious? How is that "better" than a centralized service like World Remit, that charges $3 fee for remittances?? Not a good look
for crypto ! If the media or the policy makers see this kind of discrepancies they might think crypto is nowhere near ready for prime time...

gcash has gcrypto features, so that means even if you are in another country, anyone can send Bitcoin to gcash no matter what country it is, because the gcrypto features of gcash have send and receive.

It's like Coinbase, a digital bank in the Philippines, because I have relatives who can send through GCash through online banking, as far as I know.

I am trying GCash, run into some major problems! The receive addresses I got ( 1 for PAX Gold  and 1 for AVAX ) were identical! I am not sure but I think the QR link too.
PAX Gold uses the Ethereum chain and AVAX the AVAX CChain so both addresses should be unique and different!
But even only using the PAXG address they gave me ( alphanumerical data ), KuCoin did not accept it as a valid address.
I have sent them an email about this but I am not confident GCash will work now! It may not work at all!!

Is there a way to know how high or low Ethereum network fees are at any given time? I know they change all the time
Also heard they are lower now, but still higher than all the alternatives

Rich Quack clone?
by
Len Saldua
on 08/12/2024, 06:58:07 UTC
Hey guys,

I just bought some Rich Quack as a Meme play, and it looks like its not the real token!
The CoinGecko listing clearly states the Rich Quack token ( rank #1022 ) is on the BSC AND Solana chains
But clicking on the Twitter link from the Coin Gecko listing, they say Rich Quack is only listed on the BSC chain
and not on the Solana chain, so the other token must be a clone or a scam.
DId I buy into the wrong token? I got it on MEXC, and MEXC usually gives users warnings when a token with
the same name is listed on their exchange. I don't think I got any warning.
The other thing that seems suspicious is not being able to access my Twitter to read up on the thread.
I haven't used Twitter in at least 5 years, but when I entered my old password is said they've sent a
code to my email and wanted me to enter that confirmation code. I checked both my email accounts and
there was nothing from X or Twitter.
Seems unlikely the Twitter account was part of a scam though but you never know. I don't ever use Twitter
so even if they had my password, I don't see how they could gain anything from it.
Looking at Coin MarketCap now, Rich Quack is listed there AT THE SAME PRICE as my "clone" token, but ranked
#789 or something. And this one is only listed on the BSC chain. What's going on here??

James Wallis, co-founder of XRP, added to the list!

The Deepfake this time is blatantly fraudulent, urging people to send their XRP to get back double in return.
Don't fall for it!

Re: Whatever happened to Vera Card?

So it seems Verasity ( VRA ) is currently flying under the radar of most influencers and newbies.
Or perhaps everyone is just so distracted by memes that many legit projects are being overlooked.
I personally have stayed away from memes and taken solid positions in Kaspa, Render, Ondo, Solana,
Akash, Aethir, Travala, Ethereum, IMX and VRA and I will admit I was surprised to see VRA was my
biggest gainer today with 8.4% daily gains! No small feat considering most Alts are struggling to rally
given BTC's market cap dominance ( 54.3% )
I'm thinking now I should have taken a bigger position in VRA

Verasity (VRA) was one of the best performing Altcoins in the 2021 Bullrun.
I'm not trying to push their brand into the forums, I think most people here remember as Theta's microCap competitor.
I'm only asking if anyone knows what happened to one of their products, the highly promising Vera Cards.
The Vera Wallet seems totally legit, cold storage solution for Verasity users so I wonder why the Vera Cards didn't take off.

Online banking to GCash? Now that's something I hadn't thought about. I like the crypto option though, but with the online banking I think it may only work with some banks ( if your request gets approved ), and they may still charge you a transaction fee. Banks are not known for their low transaction fees by the way.

What about the Bitcoin transaction fees ? Wouldn't it be easier to use Ethereum or something else? Actually, Ethereum is also known for its high transaction fees.

Do you have a Gcash account? You can find the Gcrypto on services then choose Bitcoin then receive, it will shows you the QR code or receiving address send it to someone who are planning to send BTC.

Can I send BTC or any other crypto to a GCash recipient without having GCash myself? ( ie. from a DEX )
I am not filipino by the way, it seems you need to get verified with a filipino ID to get GCash

I think there are many exchanges that offer crypto debit card and you can use it with paypal and then send the money, but it's also as complicated as using exchange.

We've got to remember the recipient , in most cases, has never used an exchange or a crypto wallet.
So the idea is to make it as simple as possible for the recipient.

if the receiver in the Philippines has his own Gcash account he should able to receive crypto directly to his account because it is now available as Gcrypto as another Gcash service and directly sell it there into fiat.

I thought GCash only worked within Philippines ?
It would be great if I could send something like Bitcoin directly into GCash. Is this possible?

Remittances
by
Len Saldua
on 09/08/2024, 19:23:29 UTC
This might be a little off-topic, but... is there any project in crypto that is suited for remittances? ( for example, Australia to the Philippines )
Bitcoin itself could be used for this, but lets not forget, if the recipient gets a fractional Bitcoin in his crypto wallet ( assuming he knows how to
use one of those ), he still needs to convert it to cash ( in this case, PHP pesos ) Doing this conversion will incur fees, and I use the plural
because there might be multiple fees involved if he's using a centralized exchange. The recipient likely also needs a bank account, and probably will
need to convert Bitcoin to Dollars and Dollars to PHP Pesos in the end.
So to me it all seems highly impractical if you're using Bitcoin or Ethereum. Is there any other option in crypto or are remittances still better
handled by Western Union ?
