Aeon's light block size is a huge advantage for the project I'm working on now.

@LesPristy. Can you tell us more? Your website, Github and where to contact you? Is this a personal project or is there a company behind this?

In any case, call me aroused in curiousity hehehe.
I linked my website above. http://www.aeon-wallet.net. It's nothing fancy yet, just a community resource for helping people with synchronizing wallets and nodes.

Right now the radio network is an idea, with a few concrete things I am working on. Me, programmer. My girlfriend, design engineer. No company at this time.

Lots of fun. Cheers!

Thanks for running these <3
I can't wait for your space radio network Wink

Awesome! It's a serious project.

The goal is to create a mesh network of nodes and wallets over radio links, some of which may have intermittent or delayed connectivity.

For this purpose Aeon has at least two big advantages over its parent coin.

Cheers.

P.S. - Most of those active public nodes are run by others - I'm just running the service to identify them to the community. Thanks.

how can I sell my coins ? which exchange please Undecided
There are no exchange's for INF8 it's been dead for years now I still have 16,000,000 sitting around just in case any one ever shows up and gets it listed last thing I seen was this on getting it listed

Infinium-8 is resurrecting now. Hash is rising!

Please vote it on the main exchanges:

hitbtc.com
Bittrex.com
Bter.com
coin-swap.net

Is there even a blockchain for this coin? I tried several months back and couldn't find any nodes up. Minergate showed a blockchain height of zero last I checked.

I did register infinium-8.org. Maybe INF8 can be brought back to life?

Here's an update regarding open public nodes.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Aeon/comments/73829j/public_nodes_new_list/

Basically, I have three running now and free for community use.

There are instructions on opening your own node for remote use, if you choose. I'm also willing to maintain DNS records for any other community-run public nodes, similar to how MoneroWorld operates (see: https://moneroworld.com/#nodes).

Public node update

My VPS crashed for an unknown reason. Restored it from a snapshot and couldn't log in. I rebuilt it from scratch.

It has a new IP:
34.200.218.170

DNS is updated:
node.aeon-wallet.net

I will keep the hostname pointing to the current node IP if it changes, so it's probably better to use that.

First there is like 9 millions of SUMO in developers hands. Then there was less then a million mined in first 2 months.

Yeah, no sh*t. SUMO is 90% premined as of today.

Circulating Supply
949,895 SUMO
Total Supply
9,838,784 SUMO

Does it have potential? Maybe... but I'm not investing at this point.

there is a final working product well backed up by a team of devs. It's called Sumokoin.
Huge premine.

That doesn't help with actually depositing AEON on Bittrex does it? I know you can still trade it there, but I need a way to actually transfer the coins first.... (unless there's a trick I don't know of?)
Nope, no deposit or withdrawal. You can buy/sell, but no transfers until the exchange wallet is re-enabled.

What's all this talk about the hash rate going down? It's at 3.87 mh/s. It's slighly higher than what it was a couple of weeks ago.
4.66 MH/s now. It was way down for a while.

Trade volume on Bittrex is way up too. Pump incoming?

Trade vol on Bittrex?
"AEON wallet offline for maintenance" still...
You can trade using the direct link, even with the wallet offline:
https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-AEON

Hashrate at 6.95 MH/s now.

Any news on Bittrex unlocking wallets? I cannot mine without one, and I really have hope in Aeon to reach some new heights.
So mine it and hold it, that's the way to do it.
You definitely want your own wallet address, rather than using an exchange.

You can set up your own node, it's not too difficult but does require a bit of RAM or at least swap memory. And some time to fully synchronize the blockchain.

Alternately, you can run simplewallet without your own node by syncing it using a public node, such as the one I maintain.
Instructions here: https://www.hiddenjadestone.com/2017/06/24/aeon/setup-aeon-wallet-using-windows-light/

You can even just run simplewallet without any node connection, and have it generate a wallet address. Then you mine to that address. In order to verify that you received your coins, or to transfer them, you will at some point have to sync your wallet with a node.

Any news, what is going on with the coin? Should we stop mining?
The mining stopped to be profitable, the price dropped to 15k and will continue to collapse to 5-7K in a day or two, so the coin is kinda living its last days. Anyone still mining?

There is no one else then you to decide to mine or not to mine. If you really cant decide just flip a coin. Sometimes some decisions are not worth to spend to much time on them. I wish someone made a physical AEON till now I could flip that one for my AEON decisions.
Myself, I mine Aeon (and other coins) not for immediate profit, but with the expectation that the price will be much higher in the future.

So I'm definitely going to keep mining for now.

At this point, community contributions are the best thing to increase the value of the coin. The community has really expanded recently.

I'll buy all your remaining Aeons for 1 Satoshi apiece. PM for details.
I'll offer some Bytecoin in trade for Aeon. 1 to 1. Won't last long!

this will only matter if Aeon won't get delisted from bittrex
Syncing wallets has nothing to do with the availability of a particular exchange.

Of course the price does, so if anyone wants to dump their coins today, I'm sure there are plenty of people who will buy them up cheaply.

Regardless, I'm going to continue to mine a little and buy a few coins here and there. I think there is long term potential in this coin and the community is really coming together right now.

Looks like people are using my node to sync their wallets. That's great!

I do have a domain associated with it, which you can use instead of the IP address.

node.aeon-wallet.net

Start simplewallet with the option "--daemon-address node.aeon-wallet.net:11181"

You could also just use "aeon-wallet.net" which currently resolves to the same IP (34.201.20.65), but if that ever changes, I will keep the DNS record updated for the "node" subdomain. When I add more public nodes, there will be a node2.aeon-wallet.net, node3, etc.

It may lead some holders to doubt the stability of the coin and some may decide to dump them.
Which may be precisely what was intended, so they can be bought up cheaply.

can i mine this on a vps ubunto 16.04? if yes is there a guide?
You can mine on a VPS, just beware that the service provider may throttle your CPU usage.

I tried that on an Amazon VPS and after about an hour they started limiting my CPU to about 20% of max. Several later tries produced the exact same result.

All the best to Aeon, hopefully someone at some point in time will fix it. At the moment it's just broken.
Not trying to troll here. I know that smooth invested time into some fixes, but the whole process wasn't very professional, sorry. I lost my trust in coin that has to rollback and fixes are not verified on testnet before going public.
Not speaking about ongoing bullshit - it cannot be a light version of monero due to extensive memory requirements. Howgh.
While you may have some valid criticism, I'd like to point out something else.

There are more than a couple CryptoNote coins that, like zombies, just refuse to die. They have no active development, nothing that could be called a community aside from a few miners, and are dragging themselves along based on little more than speculation. Aeon *does* have active development and an active community.

Assuming the code rebase succeeds, I think there is a very good chance of Aeon's market cap exploding and it becoming the #2 CryptoNote coin.
