Re: Addiction in gambling

A quick question does your friend look like he needs help from or you has he  complained that he needs to put a stop to his ways? I'm sure the answer would be no. The crazy thing about these kinds of individuals is that they never see the necessity to stop even when they have started literally digging a hole in their finances because they're so addicted and nothing you'd tell them would make sense.

There's no where that addicted is good or tolerable because in one way or the other, it would prove harmful. I like telling myself that its only one who is dealing with addiction that can advice himself/herself or if they come and ask for it, that's when I proffer help where I can.

Re: The Apex Price of Bitcoin for the foreseeable future
by

It's not a matter of if Bitcoin would hit because that would mean that it's something that hasn't occured, but we all know that it's had surpassed that mark. So let's say it's a typo and you meant $590k, i don't know if 5-7 years would be enough to achieve such. Let's say at most 10 years before we can see Bitcoin price climbing to that height, taking into consideration that there must have been two Bitcoin halvings to have taken place in the space of that ten years so, yeah it's likely.

And again this education we dey run up and down na still money we go still put inside to get to where some of these big people dey, nobody ready to spend plenty at the end wetin we think say we go get no go dey possible na why many of we youths no plan to even go forward about school matter and some choose yahoo because the returns no be joke, abeg no be say I support am but na so e be. As long as government no make education free for us na we dey pay them to dey educated, nai make youth chose yahoo instead of learning hand work as means to survive which e dey pay very well I mean the Yahoo to those wey get sense for the business and them no fit reason to learn work since e dey pay, so make we just dey see things the way e be, no be by force to things again.
Nah the Koko be that. I no dey against education and schooling oh because you go agree with me say the money wey people bin spend for 2000, no go be the same thing with now and so people go need to know say where beta funding no fit dey to do the school, nah to push the money go learn trade so that you fit master am and become a boss of your own when e start to pay.

Op the main thing be say everybody want quick moni and if no be wetin person no go fit get that cash fast I no see we youth getting involved. Just like men wey like drink, if where them dey go no be where them go jolly drink and all that fun related them no fit near there at all. To learn hand work good oh but many people no really know why and na now them don dey see reasons why e good to learn hand work especially some wey go service, after school nah wetin remain? White collar job abi? No be for this country, me if I get that opportunity no be to go learn work instead of to go dey carry files dey waka under rain and sun, some people dey lucky while some no dey lucky and peer pressure follow why some no wan learn hand work.
I like as you take address this mata because if we look am, nah true. I just dey tell my guy today say if no be how the government don comot body for ensuring say our youths get gainful employment after school, I no see how them go dey reason to dey do yahoo.

I come dey talk say imagine say our government fit scrap Tertiary education and those finish secondary education go go immediately learn a skill, wetin wan make the economy dey as e dey because now wey e be compulsory something, no body fo get excuse as to why them no get handwork but such a thing no go happen because them (the government) want a situation where them fit dey siphon funds using education as excuse. I dey hear for news when them dey do budget for the year and the amount them dey allocate give education yet we still dey get complaints.

This is unfair that someone would take it upon himself to shame a whole country for the actions of a select few and still act surprised that the thread got deleted.
This forum practices freedom of speech but there's a line that should not be crossed and that's what the Op just did.
I agree with SamReomo that this is just a poorly disguised attempt at seeking attention. You may see it that the op isn't seeking for any recognition of any sort but what was he trying to achieve?

Re: Who do you blame?
by
Liliana1304
on 13/08/2025, 09:47:02 UTC
Sup, often gambling is blamed for making people part with their money, or casinos are blamed for existing, or government is blamed for allowing gambling in particular country, and along the lines.

Point being, just because there is gambling available, at the end of the day, it's individual's own choice that (s)he decided do it, and no one is to be blamed except oneself if something bad happens.

Do you take responsibility for your losses, or do you play blame game?

Every one is to be held responsible for their actions whether the outcome is good or bad. Let me ask you; would you blame casino houses if since you started betting, you have won more than you have lost? People usually get antsy and shift blame to others but themself when things don't go their way so it's not a surprise.
Personally, I like to blame outcomes and circumstances when a game I staked doesn't go my way but later tell myself the truth and observe it, when you take responsibility for your actions, it's easy to live yourself when things don't go your way.

Re: ⚽ Premier League 2024/2025 Discussion Thread ⚽
by
Liliana1304

I don’t need to make comparisons I just want both players to give their all towards the improvement and success of the team. Now that Arsenal have gotten their long waited striker I hope they be able to push past their limits to win the league title. The addition of Madueke should also work in Arsenal’s advantage, giving Arteta options attacking wise for the many games they will have to play next season.
It's too early to start making comparisons. And if we're doing it, Kai havertz spent several games before getting his first goal whereas Gyokores did on his second. It's not necessary to start making comparisons as that would start affecting their sportsmanship but it's necessary to use that drive to push the club to the pinnacle of winning trophies as that was the reason they were signed.

I enjoy the energy that Gyokores had brought to the team and the way the others are working their strategies around him cause in the game against Bilbao, you could see that all the players were in sync and the mistakes, if there were, were not so many.

Don't know how well this will sit with you all!
Your topic title makes me think it is a request made by theymos and it is a topic created by theymos. Your topic title should be "Special requests to theymos", not from.

It's about topic title, and about your request, I believe you forgot that there are admins, global moderators and moderators, patrollers can handle reports. A board that does not have any assigned moderator under the board description does not mean it has no admins, global moderators, and moderators to take care of it and related reports.

The thread title is misleading. It now made it look as if it was a request given by Theymos that he was trying to pass across.
The question to ask is, is the B&H board having issues that are associated with not having a moderator? The beginners and help board has been without a mod for a long as I have been here and I've still not seen it not function.

You should change your title, op to avoid further confusion.

Re: Before they talk of gold but now also bitcoin
by
Liliana1304
on 29/07/2025, 15:59:25 UTC
It is good that Bitcoin is now being talked about, low income earners can now invest as opposed to gold and and other forms of investment that requires large amount of capital. This is not just a comparison, but a reality and everyone is entitled to choose what they prefer.

As for volatility, many still fear volatility and the bear season till date, especially this same low income earners. Many who understand how Bitcoin works do not necessarily need to panic. That is why to overcome that fear, they have to take out time to understand Bitcoin very well.

Anyone who chooses gold over Bitcoin is not a hater, he understands gold better and is more comfortable dealing with the risks involved with gold than Bitcoin.
Investing in Bitcoin requires that you know it would not suddenly stop being volatile just because you're a low income earner. This means that you've already prepared your mind for what's going to follow and I regard the volatile nature of Bitcoin as the thing that makes it exciting, different from every other form of money.

People who are now including Bitcoin into the equation have now understood that it's something worth talking about, it has proven that it deserves to be considered as competition alongside Gold.
Some people refer to Bitcoin as the digital gold, while others would prefer it in it's raw form so it's a matter of choice.

Re: In today's world of subscriptions!
by
Liliana1304
on 29/07/2025, 15:50:42 UTC
Of course we know that it's the subscription companies that benefits more. Isn't that the aim of starting the business, to make profits? Some businesses would try to be at least %75 transparent with their customers and consumers so that they can retain them but if it's a matter of getting the value for what you paid for, you can always unsubscribe if you feel they are not meeting your satisfaction.

Personally, I subscribe to a bundle monthly and if I'm being honest, I don't see the value for it but since I've not seen a better option, I still make use of it and it's also true that some people would have different subscriptions that consume their funds slowly that they have forgotten about so what I do is I subscribe for what I need, and not just because it might look appealing or helpful later on.

Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A)
by
Liliana1304

I didn't expect Liverpool to be beaten by that number of goals from AC Milan. I'm not saying the Italian outfit aren't good or can't pull off such a feat but we know how they have been struggling and when they played against Arsenal, they could only record one shot on target so I thought that it would be a continuation of what happened in their first game.

I agree that this a friendly match and as such not every team would want to give their all, but with how Milan performed today, maybe we can say they learned their lesson and are willing to do better even when the season starts.

Re: Your thoughts on the future price predictions of BTC by experts
by
Liliana1304
on 24/07/2025, 21:34:19 UTC
No one thought that we'd experience a price surge of $120k as of 3-4 years back so it's quite conceivable that Bitcoin would peak to greater numbers in the coming years. Secondly, these are all speculations so there's a possibility that come 2030, Bitcoin hasnt hit the $1m mark as they put it or it could surpass it.

If I were to predict Bitcoin price by 2029, it would be around $500-600k and this would be as a result of the post Bitcoin halving event that would have it's lingering effects.

Just my opinion. This topic would suit better in the speculation board.

Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions
by
Liliana1304
on 22/07/2025, 18:33:34 UTC

This was a truly excellent signing for Arsenal. I believe we'll see a much better Arsenal forward this year. They signed a player who performed exceptionally well with Sporting Lisbon last year. The Swedish striker also played exceptionally well for the Swedish national team. I'm sure he'll score plenty of goals for Arsenal in the Premier League. He's good enough to fill the gap in quality strikers Arsenal have been needing for a long time.
I won't lie that I began wishing that Man UTD should just grab the guy because it was as if Arsenal weren't serious but who knows if it wasn't for the fear that Man UTD could come in and put more money that strengthened the Gunners to hurry up with the deal? Either ways, at least for the first time in a long time, the club have gone for a quality striker and achieved it. Now their fans would breathe easy that the deal has been dusted and now they can now wait for the season to start.
Arsenal will be playing against AC Milan tomorrow as part of the club friendlies, let's see if this news would spur them to win.
