Re: [ANN] CryptoCounty.org - Make a post or find a host (Decentralized mining homes)

Seems like an okish idea but if were to host noisy, heat-generating machines in my home i whould be looking for an interesting monetary compensation for me, that whould considerably increase the cost of mining to way more than 3c/kw. Look at what WTT is doing, their effort is probably the best and most reasoned one and still, hosting costs exceed the electricity ones making this hardly profitable.

Let's first see the exchange and then think about selling exchange-related tokens, ok? Why whould i buy those if i can get tokens associated with volume-beasts EXs (like binance)? Show us how are you going to make your exchange stand off, what are you plans to collect some volume etc.

How can a Pow (scrypt) coin be also an ICO? Are you trying to directly sell your premine? Looks scammy to me. Scrypt coins were the thing in 2013, we are almost in 2018 dude... No new tech, no decent idea.

ICO RATING: 0/10 likely just a money grab

Let me try to understand this: you are saying that using ETH as a payment method is not ideal but using your 2nd-layer-token on top of ETH is, and you are accepting ETH as a form of payment for that? Mmmmh. A form of payment needs, among the other things, adoption and a 2nd-layer-token will never have more than the ETH itself. This is basically just another blank eBTC-style, aimless ERC20 token

ICO RATING: 0 / 10 useless

A donation marketplace that does an ICO an sells tokens? What part of "charities must be non-profit organizations" is really not clear? Why should i invest in your token instead of directly donating that money to a charitable cause?!

Cmon the "tourist coin thing" is an old concept and doesn't really work as a blockchain. Having MNs is nice but the rest looks useless.

So this is an ERC20 token, right? Whitch the main selling point is: "being used as an arbitrage tool between exchanges because faster than BTC"? Let me explain a couple of things:
- You don't do tx to do arbitrage, that's not how it works, you have funds on both exchanges at the same time. Maybe do a bit more of research the next time, on such basic concepts?
- If this is an ERC20 token that "aims to be listed on many exchanges"... why not use any other ERC20 token that currently is listed on many exchanges to do what you propose?
- Are you really marketing the ETH chain as reliable for this kind of things? When there are countless better blockchain and DAG alternatives to do TXs? The same chain that got bloated by crypto-kitties? Cmon.

What the heck is ECORP and how can a PoW coin core business be being directly used as a payment method on whatever app? There will be zero liquidity on the books for a loooong time (if not forever)

by

Are the loans secured by crypto-collaterals (e.g. i'm borrowing BTC using ETH as a collateral)? If not: lenders will not be incentivized to lend to anyone. If yes: that's like going margin long on a coin while using another as a collateral, why whould i use this platform if i can do that more easily on almost any exchange?
Seems strange to me that a project that presents itself as "P2P crypto lending" does not answer those questions straight away.

Not sure why you would pick the 56 over a 1070ti.  The 1070ti is the superior card, more efficient, and will hold its value better.
That is the great dilemma i have but i prefer the rx56 for the monero efficency, almost 2000 MH/s per card! While the 1070ti or 1080ti seem to be more "versatile", the rx56 does one thing but very well.

Not sure why you would pick NH over doing some research and earning more at other pools. Perhaps even double.
NH? I plan to mine XMR on a classic pool

Yeah going with 2x 850 i think. I Belive 1700 W are enought for 8 x Vega RX 56, they won't be using 250w each, more like 150w each

2x750 corsair Cx750 or 2x750 CoolerMaster should be fine to run 6 x Rx 56 Vega cards. You will not wait that long though as the price of bitcoin is going down so the altcoins are recovering a bit, a rig of mine with 3xGTX 1060 3GB gpu is giving me 0.0007 btc/day today and it was giving me 0.0005 btc when the price of bitcoin was 7500 USD. So overall I think it is a good investment you are making and good luck to you.
Thanks!

So at this point i'm thinking that 850W should be able to handle 4 cards, and i'll be going for 2x850w so i'll have a bit of extra room in case i wanna add a couple of cards later.
Is mixing AMD and NVIDIA possible or not recommended / efficient?

Goodluck buddy,

Just get ready for a long period of time before you paid off your hardware. Probably over a year at today's prices and difficulty.

A tip is too be ready for new launching coins that has a future (yes I know its a gamble) and start mining in the beginning. That's where you can make money.
I'm an experienced hodler  Smiley

Don't run full capacity on 1300 better go for a 1500W PSU.
1500W PSUs seem very very expensive, maybe 2 x 850W could be a better choice, with only one going into the mobo and 3 GPUs and the other handling the other 3

Finally getting into mining
by

on 10/11/2017, 17:25:33 UTC
Hello guys! Yeah, it's another of those threads where a noob asks for some sound mining advice.

I've been in crypto since 2014-2015 and doing pretty well overall, i'm a FA / long-hold / storng hands type of guy, really loving the crypto scene so far (mostly for the memes). I've never mined anything except for some brief experiments with my gaming PC (i remeber mining around 7 DCR per day in early 2016 and thinking "yeah, this is not really worth it". Damn me.).

I've read quite a while in the last couple of weeks about mining, but i still could use some advice from you. So i'm about to buy my first rig and this is what i'm currently looking at:

Mobo: Asrock H110 Pro BTC+ A bit expensive maybe but could allow me to connect 13 GPUs to it if i want to expand my mining operations
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 80+ GOLD two medium PSUs Vs a single, big one. Still undecided, can't see the cons of having a huge 1300 one
GPU: 6x Radeon RX Vega 56 this is ofc where i'm most hesitant, i've picked the Rx 56 over the 1080ti because seems way more efficent in XMR mining ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/comments/74hjqn/monero_and_vega_the_definitive_guide/ ) and i think i'd be fine just mining XMR, i'd also not hate to mine ZEC but i can't find a credible comparison between 1080ti and rx56 for ZEC mining.
The 6 x rx56 should use about 1100 W, i'll be fine with that PSU, right?

Any advice is really appreciated, being it specific to my hw choices or more general, tips, memes..
Thanks for your time

A small technical problem: i've been trying to access the website to download the wallet, but it's been down for the last couple of days. Do you have an alternative link?

The web wallet had some downtime twice within the last couple of days. Now it should be okey? I just tried it and managed to login.

I'd like to use the desktop version since i'm interested in staking. There should be a windows .exe version on the github but i'm not very good at navigating it.

It depends on its market cap, if I think it can rise more, I hold it. ''I aim to hodl forever'' what a option?  So you are waiting those coins to die.  It is all about potential.

Yeah, no. It depends on what are you investing in, if you like trading shitcoins, better be out quickly, but if you aim at solid projects (nothing is risk free tho) you should always aim at that perma-hold.
I always buy coins that i could see myself holding in 1, 2, 3... years.
