He's a trusted borrower according to a few people.

WHAT THIS IS FOR
Selling bitcoins. We are able to cycle through your bitcoin multiple times (customer purchases BTC for a slight markup, we get USD, we convert to BTC and sells that to another customer) and this is how we can offer a sustainable 5%/week interest rate. Our chargeback/fraud rate are under 1%.

Our demand has being steadily growing since the current rally and we need more bitcoins to be able to finance our operation. You can see that we have repaid over 820 BTC of BTCJAM loans, and we are rapidly seeking new capital.

It's true that we barely break even offering at 5% / week but that is to build reputation. This rate will be lowered over time, just like how I offered high returns on my BTCJAM loans.

INTEREST RATES
5% per week. This rate is subject to change at any time, through it will always remain above 1% per week.

You can choose if you want your interest back or if you want to earn compound interest. Of course you are free to request a withdraw at any time.

INTERESTED:
Send me a PM. I will give you a unique deposit address. We only do BTC denominated loans (sorry, currency risk).

Any questions, feel free to ask.

I like IW, but something has changed recently and I can't put my finger on it.

Dear Bruno,

Instawallet has always worked like a shared wallet, nothing has ever changed in this respect.

The fact you used to see coins remain at the deposit address simply means that :
 - there used to be less coin turnover,
 - the cold storage was less used,
 - any combination of the previous reasons.

Some stuff does change though, you used to get your transaction ID back immediately when sending coins, that's not the case anymore, sends are now asynchronously handled by a background worker. That's much more secure in terms of potential race conditions, much more robust in terms of infrastructure, much more maintenable (since now I can simply stop the worker, do some work on bitcoind and switch it back on).

The traffic also increases a lot, to give you an idea, our average weekly turnover is around 10kBTC in, and 10kBTC out, it recently peaked at around 50kBTC/week.

Your wallet has exactly the amount you expect to be available, you can't rely on blockchain.info to tell you how much is available in an account on a shared wallet.

This is how your balance is calculated :

Hope it's clearer Smiley

I really hate the amount of scammers here.
Am I wrong for assuming that it makes it harder for legitimate people to get loans?
A solution to this could be requiring ID checks.
Scammers will be only able to scam once.

Re: [BTCjam Loan] - 450 BTC - 3.25% - 90 days
by

I appreciate the feedback you've all provided. I did delete the loan and re-listed for only 200btc @ 4.25% and reduced the loan duration from 90 days to 60 days. If it funds on the 20th I will only have had half the funds for three weeks as the first payment will be due on the tenth of the following month. This essentially means the the first months return is closer to 5.6% on the first half of the borrowed amount. I did state a bit more of what I am doing with the coins borrowed as well (I fund this to btcQuick).

I understand that the people on the forum are very skeptical and are unlikely to loan to me for that reason. I still felt like I should update this thread so you all knew what I was doing, and why.

Yes my rates were higher initially in order to get some smaller loans funded and to establish a reputation. They seem to be all over the place because I slowly have built them up.

As for my return, it's per month! not per term of the loan. I am paying less because I am established and trusted and honestly could come up with the funds myself if I had to.

I repaid 273 bitcoins in the last few days to my investors on BTCjam. When those loans were taken out the investors would have paid anywhere from 11-13 per coin. So they made a considerable return on their investment.

If I were a scammer I would not have repaid those loans. The 300btc loan currently active has two payments left on it. So, technically I have only 200 borrowed right now.

You are correct that 20k is worth going to court over. But I am not here to screw anybody and I won't default on my debt. So from my perspective I am not worried about anything.

If it doesn't fund I'll re-list the loan for a lesser amount. The great thing about BTCjam is that multiple people can collectively help each other out by contributing to the loan what they have or feel comfortable with. I tried to get this loan last week and it didn't work.

I understand that the price is way up and because of that I doubt it will fund either. I may end up having to reach in my own pocket. But, if there are enough people out there looking to place some of their hard earned coins for a profit than they are welcome to invest in the loan.

Thanks for discussing this with me. I do appreciate your opinion and input.

My reputation and payment history are solid. Which, on BTCjam, it's all you have. I have verified everything possible and do have a solid history. I have nothing to hide and have other private funding sources available to me as well. In addition I have my own coin and do also have plenty of assets to back up my loans if there ever were to be a problem.

Thanks, and best of luck to you...

I recently secured a loan through BTCjam. After paying the loan off and trying to log back in to verify my funds have been transferred back into BTC-TC I keep getting an incorrect password error message. I have done the password reset feature multiple times but that too doesn't work. I then tried to write a support email but you first have to login to utilize that feature.

Please advice how I can get this password reset/corrected.

Thanks,
Mac

http://***WARNING***

It has been brought to my attention that a new user on BTCjam is using my ID "MAC" and trying to emulate me. His original loan ad and title were exact duplicates of a previous one I had ran. He has since changed the ad but has kept the user ID of "MAC" So please don't accidentally invest in him.

Celso, you seriously need to invest a little time to make your site better. I have made many suggestions as i am sure other have as well. You have a feedback forum but from what I can tell you haven't enacted upon any ideas.

My newest suggestion is to not allow people to create duplicate user ID's. In addition it may be a good idea to watermark all profile pictures so the scammers can't copy that as he did the rest on one of my previous loan ads.

I think BTcjam is great site but with a little more commitment you can make it a little more bulletproof for the legit people who are trying to utilize Bitcoins for a legit purpose.
