Re: Bitcoin is in danger, do you agree?

A lot of people still think quantum computing is something way off in the future, but honestly the pace of progress has been surprising. It’s moving faster than most of us expected.right now, bitcoin and most other cryptocurrencies are built on elliptic curve cryptography . The problem is, once a public key shows up on-chain, a powerful enough quantum computer could, at least in theory, reverse it and figure out the private key.
Now,i  am not saying this happens tomorrow, but if bitcoin does not upgrade its cryptography in the next 3–5 years, the risk gets very real. Quantum hardware is improving step by step, and once it crosses a certain threshold, the current security model won’t hold up.
We’re talking about the world’s fifth largest asset here. If it doesn’t adapt, the idea that its security could collapse almost overnight and bitcoin price will go to zero.

If you're just about Quantum Computers, let me tell you we're still off by 10 years before we get quantum processing power that can crack Cryptocurrencies and pose Tremendous Risk to Bitcoin, however it's best to be safe, always invest in a large diversified Portfolio and keep your coinz in a ledger or a physical/Cold wallet,  there will be time for bitcoin to be in shambles, but knowing people, it'll get back up very fast, back on its' feet, unless there were to be a third impact like Satoshi's address being milked, or third parties like (blackrock, Vanguard, Tesla, MGSN, Etc) manipulating the markets (which is already happening by the dozen bundles), Bitcoin is by People, For People, we should not let Major Corps hold a large sum of it, or else we're talking Monopoly. today they hold around 16% of the total Bitcoin Vol there is (with other corps not mentioned here ofcourse), If they decide to bond and sell at once, bye bye bitcoin for a couple months, blown back 10 years, probably sit at 40K, but ofcourse most people will see this as an opportunity to HODL even more Bitcoin, which can be very profitable in a couple years time.

another thing that can be risky for Bitcoin is probably non-adoption, if people decide to put their money elsewhere, we're talking shorter daily trades, lesser volumes, but for that to happen we're looking at a new cryptocurrency that has better utility and safety than Bitcoin, with the variable of how many coins there is as a maximum supply

Never said anything about collateral, hence the message ~> Contact me to discuss terms,

And that's the problem. Without collateral, the only thing that you can get is negatives. Something that you should know by now. Everything else that you say isn't to anyone's concern, and for sure, no one will contact someone to give him ~half a million... Too bad that you chose to ruin your account for nothing. Cry

again, i never said anything about Collateral, that doesn't mean that i don't have collateral to give, i'm Worth ~1.2M and i have a couple assets i can put down as collateral to cover half, half you guys are absolute Reddit Mods, if you're giving negative trust when you don't even know a person then you're no better than the scammers on here.

what you're doing is ruining someone's reputation for no reason other than fun, i hope y'all can grow up, i'll never be an asshole and do what you're doing, if i know for sure this or that, only then i will, otherwise i'll keep to myself or type neutral trust comments.

thank you anyway,

The reason i'm here and not trying to get a normal Bank Loan is because there are no Banks in my country since 2021, that loan even the smallest loans, so i'm counting on BTCTalkForums for this.

However, if you have banks in your country, you will get a loan of ~400k without collateral for sure. Roll Eyes Cheesy
Too bad that you count on getting something from here. The only thing that you can get is another negative. Nothing more, nothing less.

Never said anything about collateral, hence the message ~> Contact me to discuss terms,
and no there are no banks in my country that work, people were scammed out of their lifesavings including myself, now we're getting 800$ a month and that's all we could get.

One of my friends even dying to get into this business i am in and cannot possibly make it happen, he has 600,000$ in the Bank and he's not able to withdraw any more than 800$ a month, Again, thanks to Centralized Banks.

Honestly, i never trusted banks but it was mandatory in the Careers i've taken the past 10 years, I used to work in the music industry and most of the time until 2020 we were being paid in Checks, and while i have profited and withdrawn most of them, there's still 26 Grand i have no access to (aside from 800$ a month).

You can look it up, Lebanon, Past Revolution and Inflation in 2021 coupled with Covid-19, it made life a living hell for many, Millionaires who had recently transfered money from overseas, worked countless years to come back home to Retire, all gone, every cent of it, it was only recently that they've added this "extraordinary feature" to get 800$ withdrawn every month, what a Steal, Quite Literally.

I am even Acquainted with a person, Owner and Manager of RagTime, a Novelty/Music/Audio chain, had 4.6M$ in the bank, now just like everyone, can't withdraw, can't buy properties, can't even get a Collateral Backed loan for over 50K without a "haircut", he'll have to put down installments, or shave off 200K-300K from his 4.6M$ bank account to be able to withdraw 50K.

I'm Not counting on anything honestly, i know it's a Long Shot, but again who knows? maybe there are still people out there that believe in other people and still have faith in them.

If it comes, it comes, if it doesn't, i'm exploring whoever can loan me within my small network, i have hopes, and i'm not exactly dying out of hunger, but i am getting to the point where i want to be financially stable, get married and have children since i'm 29 now, hence why i'm looking forward to overwork the next two years, so i can retire early on.

Thanks for the heads up Though.  Grin

You need 3.45 BTC loan. That is around $401580.

Are you here to troll or you just want to try your luck to see if you will be lucky on this forum? Be it anyway, you are only deceiving yourself because no one can even lend you as small as that $1 on this forum.

Even a member with high reputation can not see anyone that will borrow him or her up to such amount that you are looking for.

eitherway it's unfair that you might lower my trust score for no reason whatsoever, i'm fully Doxxed and have no ill will or bad intentions, as for the loan itself i'm looking at all the possible options, i have a friend in Texas that would Loan me when his Mortgage ends in January, i have another in Dallas that might be interested, i'm seeing and weighing my options, if there's someone on from here that's great, eitherway i'm not going to forget the fact that it's hard to trust people nowadays and especially put things at risk, but you never know, there might be someone interested and still has faith in humanity.

I'm in the UK, and our current government is intent on sucking money out of any savings or assets that we own. They are starting to impose Draconian measures to control any financial transactions or holdings. I believe that this could lead to an increase in the use of P2P transactions that are kept away from exchanges and government control. Do you believe that this will lead to an increase in transactions between members of fora such as Bitcoin Talk, or will such transactions be a rich grazing ground for government investigations?

emigrate from that shitty country and live abroad, get a different nationality & Passport, leave the UK, it's a hellhole.

Looking for a 3.45BTC Business Loan (2 Year Term)
---------------------------------------------------------

Business Makes 400,000$ to 500,000$ each year after Liabilities and Taxes

Store already bought with my last penny, looking for everything else.

need 2 months head start (For installing and renovating)

Long term loan of 3.45BTC, 2 years tops, payback 5BTC (as of today's price)

that's around a 25% APR a year, 50% over two years.

Payable each month or Quarterly (Around 20-30K each month) In Crypto or WU Transfers, whichever you like,
I think it's preferable to get your cash back in Bitcoin if you're looking to invest it till next bull market.

each month i'll pay them back in installments with your profits, and there is a very good chance i can pay it back way before 2 year term, i personally do not like debt nor loans hence i will try my absolute best to be done with the debt firsthand.

USDT or USDC or any stablecoin is preferable, rather than BTC (For my side of the deal, installments paid can be in whatever you like as long as the end term is Equivalent to 600K)

The Business is in E-Sports, willing to share every Spreadsheet, day-to-day chat, and share Quarterly profit statements.

The reason i'm here and not trying to get a normal Bank Loan is because there are no Banks in my country since 2021, that loan even the smallest loans, so i'm counting on BTCTalkForums for this.

If you're in the loaning business, please contact me Via WhatsApp on my number in my https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3666239Profile.

I can provide more details and We can surely Negotiate Terms.

Thank You Kindly,

Re: What if Satoshi Nakamoto withdraws all his Bitcoin?
by
MGAMGA
on 18/08/2025, 16:55:18 UTC
Satoshi Nakamoto has an untouched Bitcoin since 2010 with an estimated amount of about 1.1 million Bitcoin with Bitcoin having a total supply of about 21 million Bitcoin and circulating supply ( 19,906,243 ).
Now here is the question, what would happen if Satoshi Nakamoto withdraws all his Bitcoin.

I guess this has being a popular question with unpopular perspectives but to throw more light into this. No one has any information on him as he remains anonymous with his last message to Bitcoin developer Mike Hearn saying "I've moved on with other things, it's in good hands with Gavin and everyone"

Research has it that he is responsible for the "mega whale wallet" massive transaction as at 2010 and suspected he hasn't gone off but tactically cashing out since 2019. He has being known for his intelligence and analytical thinking and wouldn't see it fit to withdraw all his Bitcoin at once causing a drastic decline in Bitcoin's price.

The market would experience a major fall as he holds about 5% of Bitcoin's total supply with other cryptocurrency being affected as Bitcoin has being seen to be the father of all of all digital currency. But Bitcoin being a decentralized exchange that nobody can control and having a high demand would definitely bounce back I know.

With this, I think Bitcoin has full potential to bounce back after a massive reverse just if Satoshi Nakamoto withdraws all his Bitcoin.

this is a topic as old as Bitcoin, there is currently nothing to prove that there's actually just that wallet for him, he could have possibly multiple wallets and have took his fair share of it, if i were as smart as Satoshi Nakamoto, i'd do just that, there is also the possibility of masking the entire wallet, maybe it's already been cashed out without our knowledge? there is nothing to prove that bitcoin has not been tampered with as a whole, as far as i'm concerned, Satoshi could've had programmed the entire thing to mask or shadow his own bitcoin address, and we cannot know.

eitherway, if he does withdraw them, there is a chance he might be tracked and traced, which again, he does not want.

There is no actual evidence of whatever, but there is a large probability he has thrown away the mnemonics for this bitcoin address, the entire thing to be completely free of the risks that come with that bitcoin address, then there's a VERY large probability that he has bought or mined bitcoin earlier on from a different address, and now he lives between us as free as a bird, and we cannot know who he is, we will probably not, it's to the point that even if he does come to tell us he IS Satoshi really, we would not believe him, unless he proves that he has access to the bitcoin address, we would most probably ridicule him when he doesn't.

He could be here, between all of us, extremely rich, in his lane, living, thriving off of bitcoins he mined or bought, and we would not know.

He could be one of us,
we will never know.

Thanks for the feedback, i’ll think of that next time, i thought i’d manage to sell it before the timer expires on ibb, anyway, photos can be sent if anyone contacts me Via WhatsApp

Sorry, but I lost you on this one. Did you manage to sell it or not? If you did, congrats on your sale, but you need to lock your thread now. If not, and you still have this available, then post the pics properly for all to see. There is no need for anyone to contact you to see what you are selling here. Wink

Nope, Still haven't sold, and i'm gonna lock thread by 20th August.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Best Anime to Start With: Recommendations?
by
MGAMGA
on 22/06/2025, 14:08:37 UTC
hi everyone! I’m new to anime and looking for some good starter shows to get into the genre. I’m open to all kinds of anime—action, romance, comedy, fantasy, or anything else you think is great for beginners.

Start with the Basics,

Get traumatized like the rest of us with Animes like Neon Genesis Evangelion,
Blood C,
Tokyo Ghoul,
Berserk,
Cowboy Bebop,
Bleach... etc.
extra honorable mentions : gintama (funny-action) Full Metal Alchemist, GTO (great teacher Onizuka),  parasyte, Hajime no Ippo, Grappler Baki, Solo Leveling, Steins;Gate, HunterXHunter,  Death note, Vinland Saga, Code Geass, Mob Psycho 100, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Tokyo Revengers.

I think everyone here would say that these are MUST-WATCH for any new Otaku, you can't live without watching these, both classics and new gen.

however, their next line is: Where is JoJo's Bizarre Adventures?

That too, don't focus too much on Avdol and Joseph's hot scenes, nor Giorno sucking off Mista.

And if you ever want the best anime of all time, it's Boku No Pico (Satire, don't actually look that up)

Prison School and High school of the dead are runner ups, they have some ecchi (lewd stuff), but are very entertaining and fun to watch.

DON'T TOUCH BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA (that shit is cringe)

Good luck.

I started with Azumanga Daioh (slice of life anime about school life), One Piece (sea adventure anime about rubber boy) and K-ON! (school band of cute girls).

Honestly don't worry about being perceived as cringe for liking a particular anime (with exemptions of course; stay away from the shit with children), whatever vibes with you.

I recommend reading the manga first before watching the anime; a lot more background and characterization often occurs there.

i can swear Osaker is trying to haunt me, everywhere i go, i see Azumanga Daioh, Saataa andagiiiii :DDDDD  Tongue

Re: Bitcoin maximalism: good or bad?

I don't know if it's possible to compare the sale of Bitcoins from old wallets (2010-2016) with the sale of some of the altcoins by the team that created it. But in my opinion, it's roughly the same thing, since these old wallets are anonymous and could belong to anyone, including Satoshi Nakamoto.
You can compare like this, you have freedom to do this but such comparison is non sense. Bitcoin was not premixed, it can not be minted arbitrarily and intentionally by founders or developers like altcoins.

I am also surprised to see your time of comparison is too long from 2010 to 2016 especially 2016 when Bitcoin was already well adopted and had many use cases for people globally. Altcoins are low quality and under Bitcoin not only in price but in many aspects. It was created by Satoshi Nakamoto but many years later, it has become a decentralized project and blockchain without existence and developmental contributions from Bitcoin founders.

With shitcoins, they die after their founders left and abandoned projects and communities, it is very big difference.

Yes, 2016-2017 was the time Japan corps paying people in bitcoin, literally.

It gained alot of influence at then and everyone started adopting bitcoin more.

and yes, absolutely, shitcoins and memecoins cannot be compared to old btc wallets, even if legacy which have large fees.

Re: How much risk is it worth taking?
by
MGAMGA
on 20/06/2025, 16:21:30 UTC

Most of the casino scams people fall for are through social media engagements. In gambling losing is sure but winning is never a guarantee. Winning is under probability but losing is almost like a certainty. The amount of risk that is worth taking depends on individuals but on average I will say a risk that doesn't exceed the initial budget.

Unfortunately, people with little knowledge always fall for scams on social Networks. It's very common, In fact, this forum, as well as others, are like a shoulder to cry on. In the end , the people who come and put their love into this become or become experts and players who are very careful They even become fighters against these scams. However, social networks themselves must be used correctly and taken advantage of.

it's so common, that it isn't just casino-based, while honeypots and legal holes in the system exist where Casinos can advertise how people have won so big, that isn't the case for the 99%, it's all a ploy to get more liquidity at hand, every dollar counts to them.

there are even "false advertising" that people fall for, especially when it comes to centralized exchanges,
"bybit" for instance made Ads about how you can just register and earn 5050$, when in reality, getting that 5050$ "Bonus" comes with thousands of terms and conditions, and the fact that you need to stake large amounts of money into this and that coin they have listed, trade on their exchange roughly for 25K+ to get that 5050$, who wins in the end? whether you have money to trade or not, it's always the centralized exchange since they're hoarding your information and selling it to 3rd parties. millions of people registered, on average it's 0.15 cents per person, let's say 10 cents for the sake of the argument, times a million souls, that's a 100,000$ right there.

What did you save onto an MP4 player? The wallet.dat? The seed phrase? And why did you do that on an MP4 player? How about providing any kind of proof. Pictures of the MP4 player, proof of purchase, bank statements, etc.

To be fair, I believe this to be a scam. Nobody would be dumb enough to pay you $500k for a potential chance of recovering the BTC from the flash memory.

This is not a scam. I can show pictures if needed – I’m new to this platform, and everything I wrote is the truth. I have no intention of deceiving anyone.

This goes back 15–16 years, so it’s hard for me to prove everything, but that doesn’t make it any less real.

Please try to put yourself in my shoes:
You have an old MP4 player where you saved some Bitcoin many years ago, back when you first bought it.
Now, years later, you’ve found it again, but you don’t have the tools or knowledge to access what’s on it.
That’s my situation.

I understand what you’re saying — it would be easy to scam people without proof.
But I wouldn’t be stupid to sell it for nothing, since I know there is Bitcoin on it.
I’ve already received several smaller offers, all of which I rejected.

You can post photos here even if you don't have copper+ membership, basically by uploading the images to Ibb.co, and then sharing the URL, from what i can understand you're hungarian or you live in Hungary, you've spent 5k to 10k forints on Bitcoin in 2009-2010, that's around 30$ tops, if you check https://charts.bitbo.io/if-i-bought/ that would be about ~30K btc in 2009 Nov, anywhere between 2009 to 2010's end you would have at least above a 100 bitcoins, which is currently priced about 10M$, OP you may not be lying but the nature of the internet is Very Skeptical, nobody's going to buy an MP4 Player off of you for just the "chance" of it containing bitcoin, there are a multitude of things that can go wrong, even if the MP4 Player does have the Bitcoin Wallet/mnemonics, the Wallet could be drained, emptied, or even locked with a password that you might've forgotten, it's 15 years ago anyway.

Nobody would risk that sum of money, best case scenario is find someone who can fix/zombify the mp4, zombify basically means stripping the motherboard from the electronics that are bad and putting new ones, hoping for the best, or by reviving it at a low voltage just enough to extract data from, still your best bet is to have the memory removed from that motherboard and put on an identical one that works.
