People are more likely to notice and report lower than average payouts. Some payouts in fact have been higher than expected, overall most of the accounts are still under average a bit. Some are above. All we could do is to split our hashrate amongst more pools but that would create some new issues.

Right now we've been doing better than average in the last couple of hundred blocks and it's starting to get reflected on account balances.

@Mabsark , an average is composed of higher and lower number, not just equal or above.

This has been discussed, look back and read. But the just of it is variance. Notice that beside the payout amout it says est. Payout... Well est stands for estimate. There is no guarantee. There are factors that come into play that you should inform yourself about that people generally refer to as mining variance.

It is funny that people are quick to complain when there is a string of bad luck but I have never heard anything when we get good luck. I can understand your confusion if you don't completely understand what the variable are in Bitcoin mining but I think it should be easy enough to understand what an estimate is.
