How about you tell us what service you are looking to use and we will suggest if there is an option to pay in bitcoin for that.

You can also google companies that accept bitcoin to get a comprehensive list.

Parental Guild on Bitcoin

I have observe that there is no parental guide to buying and selling of Bitcoin. However, some central exchangers do put age restriction if you want to buy/sell digital currencies and some do not see the need to do so. Specifically, I would like this discussion to focus on Bitcoin or you can make reference to other cryptocurrency to drive in your point if you choose.  I do encourage parents to buy BTC in smaller amounts for their kids that's depends on how they can afford. One of the most likely challenge is how a parent can communicate to the child on the usage, what BTC entails and how to secure there funds.

I have put in written form some ways I can communicate this;

BTC is real and it is money in digital format. You can access it anywhere in the world and convert it to local currency to be use for purchase. Bitcoin is own and control by individuals who uses the internet for access and can do it using Laptop, Phones, tablet etc. Bitcoin is stored in Wallet which has its own unique key or addresses. Buying and selling of Bitcoin is legitimate but there are restriction in some countries and there is also risk involve. You can actually trade bitcoin too but I will not want you to because you need the right knowledge to do so if not you will lose all of it. Bitcoin has lot of benefit but should not be use as a game and get rich quick. You should also no share you password or personal key to anyone as it you funds can be withdrawn without your notice.

Few Questions I will like to get you own input on

Is buying Bitcoin or cryptocurrency good for Kids?

How do you teach a kid to secure Bitcoin incase you are not there?

Should authorities or agencies place age restriction on owning Bitcoin?

I will appreciate you immerse contribution to this discussion.

My next Bitcoin awareness approach now are the children, there are many kids in my family and very soon our get-together tradition is approaching, I need your help in this forum if this is possible.

I remember when I was little, I love reading books that have good pictures on them, like comics and novels painted with amazing pictures, from Peter Pan to DareDevil and Supergirl, while growing up as an adult I ended giving out these comics to my cousins.

My question is where can I buy Bitcoin comic books that can catch the attention of children between the age of 7 to 11? I want something in comic or story book style and with full story about Bitcoin or related... I want to buy and wrap them up for the surprises.

Re: Regulatory Ease Accelerate Bitcoin Adoption In Milei’s Argentina
by

When referring to cryptocurrency, the person making such a reference must also know that there are thousands of them in the space, and it's not all that is worth investing money in. You cannot look at some shitcoins without condemning crypto as not worth a legal tender or an asset, but how about focusing on Bitcoin alone? Bitcoin is dominant, persistent, and always an asset that generates profit during the bull market, and those who have invested in it do not regret holding it.

They are still wrong on Bitcoin and I am not sure why they think Cryptocurrency == Bitcoin. Bitcoin is way different and acts more as an asset as compared to other Cryptocurrencies like Ethereum which does not reflect any asset values at all. Bitcoin has a fixed supply. It's literally much better than Gold. We do not have a fixed supply of any other  Major Cryptocurrency in the world.

They all will follow the moves once a big player makes it, that's why these countries remain a follower not an innovator.

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Census, inflation in Argentina is 142,7 per year. The country's struggling economy is one of the main drivers behind the Nov. 19 election of libertarian and Austrian-school economist Javier Millei as the new president. Inflation is one of the main reasons why Argentine citizens use alternatives to access dollars such as stablecoins. In this context, Miley is associated with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, due to her appeal to eliminate the central bank in her country. But right now, Miley's opinion on Bitcoin is neutral. "The problem I see with cryptocurrencies is that they don't have legal tender status, and they don't have an asset value. source

Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am?

Bitcoin touched $44,000 dollar for a moment before sliding back a bit to $43,780 dollars (at the time to creating this post).

And this clearly shows that, we are gradually entering the bull season, bitcoin has being on a bullish trend for several weeks now, and seeing the price touch $44,000 dollars today gave me two feelings,

First is excitement, I was and still excited, but somehow, I have this feeling of fomo running through me, I feel like I have not enough bitcoin and I am highly tempted to buy even more now Grin, this was the same amount of bitcoin I was very comfortable with during the bear seasoning.

Anyone else feeling same way?

Yeah, the tweet ended up being wrong - even the opposite played out.. but at the same time, your posting that subject without context is misleading.

Re: Finally Bitcoin Devolpers planning to kill Ordinals and Inscription
by
Mahoussi8
on 06/12/2023, 19:11:19 UTC
As we all know the Ordinal and Inscription totally spam the btc network which is headache for the small btc holder. Those who understands the real purpose of btc and wants to spread information of btc will never happy with this spam feature because we cannot introduce people that you have to pay 10$ for every transaction (whenever you buy and sell).

Here in Bitcointalk,Signature payments are generally processed weekly and compaign manager have to pay the high fee which is not only loss of projects but also member total recieving payment also affected.

Now officially Bitcoin Devolpers are come into the ground and planning to kill these spamming in Blockchain. I think this is very positive news and maybe the reason or #ORDI token dump. I hope these spam will be no more disturb the common user and we will once again experiencing fast and low fee Blockchain.

PSA: “Inscriptions” are exploiting a vulnerability in #Bitcoin Core to spam the blockchain. Bitcoin Core has, since 2013, allowed users to set a limit on the size of extra data in transactions they relay or mine (`-datacarriersize`). By obfuscating their data as program code, Inscriptions bypass this limit.

This bug was recently fixed in Bitcoin Knots v25.1. It took longer than usual due to my workflow being severely disrupted at the end of last year (v24 was skipped entirely).

Bitcoin Core is still vulnerable in the upcoming v26 release. I can only hope it will finally get fixed before v27 next year.

Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se
by
Mahoussi8
on 06/12/2023, 19:05:09 UTC
Some clarification is needed to this board due to the recent incident with ChipMixer.

To all advocates of anti-anonymous Bitcoin and Internet tools: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se.

Definition of money laundering:
Money laundering is the process of illegally concealing the origin of money, obtained from illicit activities such as drug trafficking, corruption, embezzlement or gambling, by converting it into a legitimate source. It is a crime in many jurisdictions with varying definitions. It is usually a key operation of organized crime.

Definition of Bitcoin mixing:
A cryptocurrency tumbler or cryptocurrency mixing service[1] is a service that mixes potentially identifiable or "tainted" cryptocurrency funds with others, so as to obscure the trail back to the fund's original source.

Unless you think that every potentially identifiable coin is obtained illegally (which would be false), Bitcoin mixing does not equate with Bitcoin laundering. While it is possible to launder, hereby conceal the origins of money from an illegal activity, it is not a money laundering service, in the same manner that while it is possible to terrorize with the assistance of end-to-end encryption and peer-to-peer protocols, such a messenger is not a terrorism service.

When you mix coins, not only do you just not want from the rest to know your business; you want them to know you want to conceal it. It can be a completely conscious decision from any person; criminal or not. If you don't respect this dignify-respecting technique which strengthens individuals' privacy, say it, but say it right; "I don't want that much privacy". Prepare to receive an infinite amount of deprecation from privacy advocates afterwards, but clear it up.

P.S.: You can't have privacy without money laundering due to the nature of humans-- by the way, the opposite does not necessarily hold true.

Re: Investing in Bitcoins with Masonry Earnings.
by

on 06/12/2023, 18:51:42 UTC
I have studied till 10th standard. Then my family didn't have money to send me further education for which I took a job in a garment company and worked there for two years.
I was dismissed from that garment company as I had no work experience. For which now I have chosen a profession that is Masonry.I have been doing this for about a month. But I was involved with Cryptocurrencies while in school because my friend was very expert in this crypto currency and I used to take ideas from him and try to learn from time to time.
I earn around 600 to 700 taka daily in our local currency doing this mason work which is enough for me.
I was told by my family to deposit some of my earned money in the bank but I did not agree.I ignored them and decided to invest some of my earned money in bitcoin instead of keeping it in the bank and hold the bitcoin.
I mentioned this to you because I invested in Bitcoin with Mason's money.

I started investing in bitcoins with a dollar amount that I earned from a day's work as a mason.Maybe my invested bitcoin amount is not much but I want to start with very small amount at first since my income is very low.

I bought $5 worth of bitcoins today. This $5 amount means a lot to me because this is my first bitcoin investment in my life.I want to hold my invested bitcoins for a long time and add more bitcoins to these bitcoins in the future.

Re: Forum moderation policy
by

on 06/12/2023, 18:27:13 UTC
The policy to not remove anything worked when the forum was small. Now that we have thousands of posts a day, we can't afford 50% of them being junk. The moderators are now instructed to be less tolerant of low-value posts.

Some guidelines:

1. Free speech - you can say anything as long as it is relevant and presented in a calm and polite manner. Swearing, SHOUTING etc. make your post more likely to be removed.
2. No zero value posts or threads, like "SELL SELL SELL"
3. No pointless or uninteresting threads.
4. No referral code spam
5. No NSFW content

Re: Bitcoin will exceed the $100k barrier before 2025
by
Mahoussi8
on 06/12/2023, 17:52:19 UTC
There's a chance but I don't think it will. I'll give it 50%.
You might as well ask if we reach $100k in the next cycle. The $100k could be too powerful psychological barrier, it's a target price for many investors, and everybody knows that is best to place your sell orders at least slightly below the target. So there might be huge selling pressure just below the $100k mark.
On the other hand, it's hard to estimate the size (and timing) of the demand for the spot ETFs (if approved). It could have quite big impact on the price, but it's not like ETF buyers would be happy to get in at any price, they'd be probably be looking for dips.

Yes, you are right, but it may well be possible.
Thank you for your opinion anyway

Re: Bad news always brings some good news!
by

on 06/12/2023, 17:42:46 UTC
As we all noticed, the market is quite bullish now, we hit $40k and it's already trading above that level.

I said "bad news' because with this recent development involving CZ and Binance, this usually bring some negative sentiment but look what's happening, the market is going on the opposite side and it kees getting bullish.

So this is just my observation, like in the past, about exchange getting hacked, China FUD, etc.. it all resulted to a BULL RUN!

So is this guy? Tell me about your opinion about this....

Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees?
by
Mahoussi8
on 06/12/2023, 17:35:22 UTC
I was checking mempool and saw the transaction  fee sky rocketing. I am not sure what happened suddenly as these fees are way beyond anyone's imagination. Later on, I did found out that Binance has listed Ordinals (ORDI). I want to ask the community whether the severe high transaction fee occured because of the listing?

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/11/07/t1GIb.jpeg

I went ahead and check the price of $ORDI on Binance and found that it is trading at a price which is way beyond it should be. I am sharing the screenshot below.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/11/07/t1M7v.jpeg

Anyone here who can give a solution to this issue? I feel they would continue to make the transaction fee in those Satoshi figures . This situation would not help small investors and traders as they would avoid these kinds of transaction fees.

Edited on 10th of November 2023

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/11/10/tpSMJ.jpeg

As expected it is now beyond the control of anyone except those who were part of the development. They should come up with a solution otherwise the whole idea would crumbled.

Look at this after I posted before the current price.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/11/10/tpZJC.jpeg

This has to stop or everything that was beautiful would become a nightmare. Those who created it have to come out of a unique solution.

These fees are insane and out of the limit of anyone who is like me. Imagine someone wants to transfer $10! Do you think these atrocious fee would help them.

Absolutely true, it could also exceed this estimate
