Verity is a real-time decentralized oracle for smart contracts. It makes it easy to verify real-world information and connect it to any smart contract. Using the wisdom of the crowd and blockchain-as-a-court-system, Verity is the solution to the oracle problem.

Over the past few months since our token generation event (TGE), Verity has made great strides into becoming in the oracle space - we have rebranded from Eventum to better orient ourselves in the crypto ecosystem, we've successfully tested our Alpha (MVP) platform with the help of hundreds of users and reached the 1000th Alpha event milestone, the team at Verity grew and the development of our Beta is finished as we prepare to launch it by the start of April. We've made numerous connections in various conferences in the United States and Asia and through meetups in Europe, which led to the backing by Network Catalyst Accelerator, which is run by US venture capital firm, Village Global.

We think the community is one of the integral parts which holds the project together, and this is especially true with Verity. We invite you to participate in Verity Alpha (and Beta) tasks, for which you will be rewarded.
Verity Alpha
Verity Alpha Verity Alpha is our prototype platform that allows you to earn rewards by completing fun and fast microtasks known as events. Verity Alpha is the first public version of Verity which is at the moment deployed on Ropsten testnet, with the official launch on Main Ethereum Network planned for the start of April, 2019.
Participate in tasks
Data providers get paid by participating and successfully completing various tasks, which range from Sports and eSports, sentiment analysis, various AI training sets such as object recognition and voice analysis, to fact checking events which range from fake news, weather estimation, product damage evaluation and geolocation.
To participate, you do not require any unique skillset as participation is mostly easy and quite fun for some. You will however need to install Metamask browser add on as interaction on Ropsten is necessary.
Step-by-step guide:
1. Register on Verity Alpha by creating an account.
2. Verify your email & Log in to your account.
3. Install Metamask browser extension from the official website.
4. Open it and create a new wallet & Select 'Ropsten Test Network'.
5. Go to the Faucet & Click on "Request 1 ETH from faucet''. Alternatively, use this faucet if the previous one does not work.
6. Wait until the transaction is mined and confirmed on Ropsten. You will receive 1 free Ropsten ETH from the faucet.
7. Go to your Verity Alpha account & Click on 'Add Your Wallet Address' to connect Verity to your Metamask wallet.
8. After completing the registration, you can start participating in Alpha events. In an Alpha event, you must correctly submit the required data. If majority of participants submit the same data, consensus forms and everyone in a consensus is rewarded from the reward pool.
9. Rewards will be shown among the participants in consensus when the event ends. Total earnings are tracked in a dashboard and the actual reward distribution happens every Wednesday.

Alpha events
After completing the registration, you can start participating in Alpha events in the upcoming section. In an Alpha event, you must correctly submit the required data. If majority of participants submit the identical data, consensus forms and everyone in a consensus is rewarded from the reward pool. Those who submit wrong data are not rewarded.
Rewards will be shown for each participants in consensus when the event ends. Total earnings are tracked in the dashboard on the main page. As we are on Ropsten testnet, the actual reward distribution happens once a week. Once Beta Verity is fully launched, participants will be able to claim the rewards directly from the smart contract when the task ends.
If you experience any problems with the registration or during the events, please don't hesitate to give us a shout. Most of our community is present in our Discord channel, where they, along with our team members, will be glad to help you.

We have made great strides in our development so far. We are planning to bring you up to date in another post, but the most interesting aspect for our community is that we are once again offering ETH and VTY rewards in our events. In case anyone who has not familiarized themselves with Verity is interested, you can participate in these events by voting based on the instructions of the particular task. If your vote is identical to that of the majority of the voters (i.e. correct), you are then placed in consensus and rewarded. We currently distribute rewards on a weekly basis (around 6 ETH and 60,000 VTY), but once on the main net users will be able to withdraw their rewards directly from the smart contract. So if you are interested or just want to try out the platform, you are welcome and it's completely free. Metamask is the only required component as you need to request free Ropsten ETH from the faucets, but other steps are pretty straightforward. The path to a decentralized oracle is progressing smoothly so far!

It seems that this topics has been a bit neglected, which is unfortunate. Verity is one of my favorite projects, and certainly among the most lucrative for me. I have eatned quite a lot of ETH from it, and VTY tokens. The events which they run are interested and ripe for debate. I suggest everyone to check them out for itself, and naturally DYOR.

Hmm, the expert level was cracked in about 3 hours.
Indeed, a massive congratulations to our community is in order. Our community members are even better code-breakers than we initially thought, as they cracked all three of Dr Enigma's ciphers in a matter of hours and even the expert code, the one we've estimated to be cracked at least a day after it was published, was cracked open in less than three hours. We will be adding the answers and the methods on how to crack each level in our blog in a few hours. This challenge was a prelude to the Original Crypto event tomorrow, where prominent blockchain speakers from Slovenia will host an open table after Dr. Enigma's presentation on the history and human stories behind the Enigma machine. All the original tickets have since been sold, so we added additional 15 more tickets for all the late birds, so don't miss the opportunity to get the hands on the original Enigma machine for everyone to test and play with! Verity team also accepted and engaged in the challenge from our friends at betbox. We took some time off on Tuesday to train and build the human pyramid and the bet ratio on Alpha betbox was also more than encouraging, so we knew we could do it. It took some work but we finally managed to do it!
The results of Betbox - Verity human pyramid challenge Alpha event were also conclusive! Out of 135 participants, the vast majority of 97% voted true! According to our Alpha community, Verity was successful in completing the human pyramid as well. The rewards will be distributed manually on the main net over the coming days, as this event was still on Ropsten test network. The results were automatically forwarded to betbox for them to determine the bet result and distribute it to all bet winners.
In other news, we've also opened up 40 spots for an online taxonomy evaluation study. As Verity needs feedback on all to-be-released features and platforms, we have sent an email to all our early supporters and MDP & PVN members. Up till now, we've received more than a 100 applications and after evaluation and forming a representative sample of applicants, we will inform all successful entrants. You can still apply in the form provided here. We are also having a Media day at the office in Ljubljana today, with journalists from several of media houses attending our office. In anticipation of our Original Crypto evening in Ljubljana on September 27th, were giving away up to 380,000 VTY tokens to anyone who can crack our codes! Dr. Enigma world expert and speaker on the Enigma machine has enciphered three sentences using well-known encoding techniques, and Verity challenges you to crack the codes! Instructions along with the codes are posted in our blog. Competition closes on Friday 28th Sep 2018, 1pm (CEST).
Due to the extreme and positive engagement in our Telegram community, most of the levels have already been cracked. That's why we will be adding an extremely hard level by tomorrow noon, which will take a lot more time and skill to crack! Current statistics:

Hard level: 10/10 correct answers CLOSED

The goal of the event is to report whether Verity team was successful in building the human pyramid with at least ten people. The event starts on Wednesday at 13:00 GMT +2. We are also running some internal tests and need some feedback from our trusted community, so all Master Data Providers (MDP) and Prime Validation Nodes (PVN) participants will receive an email in the coming days with more information on how they can help.

Last week, we successfully introduced the second Verity Dev Grant winner: betbox. Betbox is a decentralized application that allows you to place bets on personal challenges, private events, public events, and lottery games. The CEO of betbox, Stefan Godly, was introduced to Verity at ICO Race in Lugano in June, where they recognized the value of decentralized oracles as the missing links between the blockchain and the real world as one of key components of their platform. let's assume I want to "oraclize" this: I want to know if my granma is sleeping or not, so I put a webcam on her bed and stream it accessible from a website (similar to the thief event). I need to be sure she is sleeping so I require at least 200 consensus which should say "TILL the minute 10' of the stream she is sleeping" => how much it will cost me to get this event and the reply with YES/NO to my smartcontract ? any info about this ?
The platform is envisioned as a free market where natural competition takes place, so prices and all underlying fees are directly tied to the supply and demand ratios. The beta stage to which we are now transitioning should give us a clearer view on the market prices, but ultimately it depends on the number of participants and developers in the platform and the competition between them. Your example specifically utilizes boolean data type, so it should be relatively cheaper than other types, but the consensus of 200 may be a little big, considering the default consensus ratio of 2/3 means there should be at least 300 participants in your event (which will be one of the main factors of determining event reward).

Can you tell more about the requirements of Prime Validation nodes? I know that we require to stake at least 30k Eventum for a node reserve but what about technical requirements. Do we have to rent a server or we can simply run on our PC itself? Also does it have to be a 24 hour running node?
Full technical details and instructions are forthcoming, but hosting it on a server is preferable to running it on PC due to reliability (power, internet shortages...). It has to have at least 23h uptime each day for validation node to keep its status as such.
VRTY is not our token, VerityToken has a VTY symbol. If you aren't sure in the future about whether or not a traded instrument is our token or not, you can verify it via our VTY smart contract.
Markets (IDEX, etherdelta) are keeping it up good. 'Lock-up' price (ico price) seems to be the liquidating level under which we aren't willing to go en masse. Good work guys.

As all bounties were closed on Monday, anyone partaking in signature bounties may remove them without any repercussions. All points were constantly tracked and updated for every participant. All languages were filled as well. As stated in our main ANN post here we will be going through with TGE and token distribution later today, so every bounty as well as event participant will receive VTY tokens into the wallet they have inserted in Verity Alpha (formerly Eventum Alpha).

Today is the big day! Verity (VTY) tokens launch will commence today! We're super excited to say that over the next 48 hours, VTY tokens will be distributed to all holders. As we are on the verge of releasing the Verity (previously Eventum) tokens to the world, we are already looking ahead to our primary goal, releasing the Beta version which includes two major developments and special programs that you are welcome to join the Master Data Provider Program, and the Prime Validation Node Program.
Being part of the first program, you will be invited to participate in exclusive events and pilot projects being run in cooperation with our partners and DEV grant winners. The second program is to provide every Alpha member of our community with the chance to run their own validation nodes. Thanks for the suggestion Aidit, made the changes. Regarding the bounty distribution, we are in the final stages and are preparing to initiate TGE, after which distribution will commence and be finished within 48 hours after TGE. There's also some big news planned, so stay tuned!

We have been very busy this past month and are pleased to announce the launch of Eventum Developer Grant.
Like all great new technologies, many of the future uses of Eventum platform are yet to be conceived. We are building a platform upon which others can power their own projects and it is the creativity of the community which will help shape the power of the Eventum platform.
The first ever Eventum Dev Grant has been awarded to EThorp32, who has built 0xgame.io, which we believe is the worlds first ever completely decentralized end-to-end betting experiment. His system uses our platform as a decentralized oracle, which sends the match outcome result from a consensus reached by event participants via a decentralized data carried (Oraclize) and TLS Notary. 0xgame is designed as a zero fee pool betting system where people play against each other and winners take money from losers in proportion to their own betting amount. The system has been thoroughly tested on Ropsten testnet and has already been employed live in previous two Fifa 2018 matches and all of the bet winners had their payouts automatically executed by the smart contracts. The smart contract handles all betting, winnings distribution and withdrawals and its source code can be reached at etherscan. You can read more about 0xgame and EThorp32s impression in our blog post.
We will be holding Eventum DEV Grant contest every month. Anyone with a great project will be able to submit their idea via our form each month and we will select the most promising ones and following our technical due diligence, the community will vote on their favorite one. We will then hold special events to enable developers to collect the data you need and power your projects with our API. Each winning project also get an additional 10,000 USD worth of EVT tokens, free promotion on our blog, telegram community and other social networks.
You can submit your project idea here. We are also assigning another 10,000 USD worth of EVT tokens each month for members of our community who help promote the winning projects via social media or their own channels. Tokens will be awarded to the top 20% best quality content (posts, tweets, status updates etc). We will be checking five different media: Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn and Creative content, each has a 20% allocation of EVT tokens. You can submit your bounty content via our form here. If there was no consensus found, does that mean all of our reputation was impacted? I'm sorry if I missed this, we talk a lot here.
I had the same question but i looked back in their telegram channel and Luka specifically said that they would not take away reputation for not reaching consensus.
Yes, reputation value is not decreased as a consequence of no consensus reached. User reputation is exclusively reduced only by reporting the wrong answer and not being in a consensus. If consensus isn't reached, the reward gets returned to the developer (minus validation fee) and users get no reputation penalties because the ''right'' value hasn't been deduced.

Today's Fake news detection event was successful, where participants had to distinguish fake news items among genuine news articles. Consensus was reached in 2 minutes 46 seconds with 81% of all participants agreeing on a specific outcome - Real, Fake, Real. Congratulations to all participants, reward is now claimable!
