While The Scarab Experiment is still accepting artwork for voting and inclusion as official works, there has been a slight change to the process. In order to ensure that each of SCARAB’s artwork fits within a style, fitting of the project, there will be a step using a new imaging method technology.

This process will take each winning artwork and process it with SCARAB’s logo using a variable algorithm in order to create a wholly new image. That image will then be painted with oil on canvas and therefore produce a wholly new work of art. Not only will this keep SCARAB’s art completely original and unique but it will also alleviate any storage issues we had before. Earlier artwork that was accepted was to be held by the artist themselves as they acted as custodian for it, now there’s no need to require the artists to be held liable for the art. This should be a welcomed development that benefits all of our members in the community. This will not effect the rewards given to the artists, who still will receive a generous 1,000 Scarab Tokens for each artwork accepted as well as a 10% for the sale of the art and 5% for the sale of editions/prints.

By using this process each SCARAB artwork will be the product of many of The Scarab Experiment participants instead of just a single artist. This aligns itself with the vision of SCARAB as a new kind of artist that we’re all creating. Not only do we have a new kind of artist but now we also have a complimentary and new kind of artwork.

Scarab can now be seen in the 200th Issue (September) of Juxtapoz Magazine. We hope this will bring more artists to the platform and help spread the word about what we're trying to achieve with Scarab. Juxtapoz will be mentioning Scarab in their upcoming social media posts and articles.

The Scarab Experiment Launches Successfully: Artists Wanted

The Scarab Experiment has successfully launched and the system is now up and running. The first valid submissions are being processed on a continual basis and queued for community voting. 

All artists that work in ANY medium are welcome to submit their work for inclusion in the project. The reward for each artist’ work that’s selected is 1,000 SCARAB tokens which as of this writing (According to XChain at https://xchain.io/asset/SCARAB) have a value of $36.03 each on the DEX Counterparty exchange. To submit artwork the artist must have an account with http://counterwallet.io that holds at least one SCARAB token. 

Our token crowdsale has officially ended but you can still get SCARAB tokens by purchasing them through the DEX Counterparty exchange which is accessible through your counterwallet account.

We’d also like to make an announcement that Scarab now has a new logo which is the image above. This logo is the start of a website redesign that’s currently underway and will be unveiled within a few weeks time.

No, you're correct. Some funds were used for advertising on Coinmarketcap.com and for a new website/logo redesign which is in progress now. The remaining were turned into ETH to diversify Scarab's holdings. All addresses with this information will be publicly available and accessible through the new website.
