Anyone know why a pi2 wont run on this controller? Is the controller just incompatible? I  assumed since it sounds like all the controllers from KNCminer are identical, none of them would be compatible with the pi2. Didnt the neptune make an updated controller? I could be completely wrong on this as I dont follow neptunes. But if they did, then how to identify the updated one, and is their latest controller compatible with Titan Bridge and pi?

Vegas
Yes.

:-)

The problem with the Pi2 is that the CPU type is not supported in the boot loader/IPL code that was on the last version of the 2.0 Titan firmware. I wonder if you can do an apt-get upgrade/update on a rpi, then boot it on a rpi2.

THat might be the best way to go. Or you can still buy a rpi 1.2 B unit.

C

My understanding is that code for Rpi2 would have to be recompiled in order to run it.  We can't recompile the Titan code because it contains proprietary blobs which are used to run the FPGA on the controller.  Those blobs were not released by KNC because they did not own them, thus did not have the authority to release the source code.  Thus we're screwed.

Clever mining V2 is the most profitable multipool to hash right now. My personal experience: I put 1Ghs for 24 hours and got .1 BTC. Zpool is the other good one.

Do you have a personal stake in these pools, or is this just unsolicited advice?

I would love you guys feedback on this.  Thanks!

Try to run each cube individually, write down the optimal settings for each die on that cube.  I would consider mine "stable" if they ran for a couple of hours without error.
Once you have each cube dialed in, try running running them together, adding another cube each time.  First two cubes , then three cubes, etc.
When problems start happening, you'll have a much better idea of what's causing it.

If you decide to keep the rig, REPASTE EVERYTHING.

ive taco'd a few, toasted a few, hell im toasty right now!

in all seriousness though ive been able to push 4 titans on one board up to 250-270 range and keep it stable,
it took a lot of firmware hacking and liquid cooling, but it's totally possible!
And if people blow them up I can fix them :-) But really might be a better investment (not for me of course) to run them a bit cooler since these actually seem to have value over time. Which is kind of amazing.

Even when I was GPU mining, I found that undervolting and running a bit slower/cooler was always a better option than hitting everything on head as hard as I could.  I'm not surprised that the Titans also run better this way.

When I first got my Titan, it was totally unstable, but I wound up running it a little slower and it was better that way.  I should have taken the hint.  With everything that's transpired since then, it makes perfect sense.

Or maybe not. I just pulled a die and under it is what can be best described as an IGA (insane grid array). Let's just say it looks like a ball pitch of zero, but still bga. Maybe .1mm. But yes, the failure mode seems to be die overheats, melts solder under it, and either just shorts the +.6v lines or if very unlucky shorts the 3.3v supply to power the die's housekeeping.

Fascinating.

So it's possible that "dead" dies are actually not dead at all, but the solder below them has just melted and shorted across the array?

If no takers, it's going on ebay.

I feel like most sellers are taking their gear to eBay.  This place appears to be overrun with scammers.

And that's why we can't have nice things.

I have two of these for sale:
http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-V1000-Silencio-Generation/dp/B00CGY4ETG

They were used to run my Titan, which was undervolted and pulling about 1300w at the wall, so each PSU was handling a 650w load.

Asking $125 each (or equiv LTC or BTC) or best offer.

EDIT: Shipping only to US/48 states.  No international shipping.

I'm selling a KNC Titan controller board over on LitecoinTalk:
This sale DOES include: the controller board, the LCD display, and the little plastic standoffs for the display and the Raspberry Pi.

It DOES NOT include: the Raspberry Pi or an SD card.

So, is the Raspberry Pi included or not?

Ha.  Edited to reflect that the sale does NOT include the RasPi, but does include the little plastic standoffs for the RasPi.  I should have made that clearer.

****CopyPasta****
My cubes have all been sold, so now I'm selling the controller board.  This was originally delivered in September of 2014, and only used in the fall and winter, not all year-round.  It was running fine with GenTarkin's firmware v0.99e as of last night, when it was taken out of service.  There are no known issues or problems (other than the fact that it's a KNC product).

This sale DOES include: the controller board, the LCD display, and the little plastic standoffs for the Raspberry Pi.

It DOES NOT include: the Raspberry Pi or an SD card.

I have conducted successful sales on this forum recently, and my username is the same on BitcoinTalk, where buyers have given me positive trust ratings, and made positive comments about my sales.

I will not ship internationally.  USA/48-states only.  Asking 150 LTC or best offer.
