MintDice 2.0 BitRocket Seeding Event
by
MintDiceSara
on 09/08/2021, 16:39:21 UTC
Hey everyone. MintDice has recently launched it's 2.0 platform. And with this, we are looking to update our Provably Fair system to the public with our BitRocket Bitcoin crash game and hosting a public seeding event. We have generated a chain of 10,000,000 SHA256 hashes. Each element is the hash of the lowercase, hexadecimal string representation of the previous hash.

The hash of the chain's last element is: 239a98ad68258c8abef5cbe062ac58f72d798b088d1ea063e89ea5a774a3841a.

Every game of BitRocket maps to a hash in the chain: The 10,000,000th element of the chain is the hash of game #1 and the first element in the chain is the hash of game #10,000,000. To verify that a hash belongs to a game #n, simply hash it n times and compare the result with the terminating hash.

To calculate a game's result from its hash:
Code:
const crypto = require("crypto")

function gameResult(seed, salt) {
  const nBits = 52 // number of most significant bits to use

  // 1. HMAC_SHA256(key=salt, message=seed)
  const hmac = crypto.createHmac("sha256", salt)
  hmac.update(seed)
  seed = hmac.digest("hex")

  // 2. r = 52 most significant bits
  seed = seed.slice(0, nBits/4)
  const r = parseInt(seed, 16)

  // 3. X = r / 2^52
  let X = r / Math.pow(2, nBits) // uniformly distributed in [0; 1)

  // 4. X = 99 / (1-X)
  X = 99 / (1 - X)

  // 5. return max(trunc(X), 100)
  const result = Math.floor(X)
  return Math.max(1, result / 100)
}

Before being used to calculate the corresponding result, each game hash is salted with the lowercase, hexadecimal string representation of the hash of Bitcoin block 695,600. This block has not been mined yet, proving that MintDice has not deliberately picked a chain that is unfavorable for players.

Please quote the above message and Bitcoin block for any legacy and audit purposes.

Regards, MintDice

Do you have any logs regarding the total payout, and estimated payout amounts for investors?

I've scrolled through the site, but can't seem to find it.

I'm talking about something like this, ideally available somewhere on the site: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2445163.0

Thanks!

What a year it has been for mintdice in 2019, in 2018 it wasn't even a thing, I am not sure as this topic was created on June 7 so I do assume this website was created in 2019 and pretty recently as well, just a 6-7 month old casino. From that to a website that will move to mobile development since people use it on their phones as well and a 45+ page topic and a lot of community behind it is just a marvelous achievement. Not gonna lie if I was asked is it possible to become this loved and good in 6 months I would have said no and said it would be impossible but Mintdice pulled it off like it was nothing important. Thank you for all the feedbacks listened and all the changes that were made for us, I wish 2020 is better for you guys.

Thanks a lot for the comment and the nice wishes! Smiley

Weird, I have never experienced such issue while requesting withdrawal. My last withdrawal was two days ago if I remember it correctly, it was working fine and it was processed instantly like usual. Not really sure what is happening with your withdrawal, what browser did youuse when this issue happened? As it looks like a browser issue imo.
It was a browser issue, i was using the same browser for a long time and suddenly it stopped working and Bryce was helpful enough to see my issue and so does Yahoo and i was able to withdraw using another browser.
Once again thank you and advanced Happy New year everyone.

I'm glad everything has worked out in the end. Apologies that it took some days for a response to come through. Happy New Year to you, too! Smiley

I do admire the tenacity of the improvements and fixes on the website first before tackling any attraction for customers. I personally like that because if I ever want to play in a casino that has poor performance and slow graphics or something, I wouldn't even come back there. So for the focus on the site, a great job, and I think customers will follow next. Keep up the great work. I see people increasing in the Telegram Group, so I guess it's a good sign.

Yeah, marketing is important, but not all casinos have a vast amount of budget for marketing. Moreover, I think they are not satisfied yet with the MVP (current product) and want to improve the site first before adding marketing programs. IMO that's why MintDice decided to scale back its signature campaign to be more efficient in this building process.

4 months is really nothing compared to goliaths in the casino business. Most of them have been around for years now and they have built that number up because they were one of the first, now there has been hundreds of casinos since those first ones came up, so of course people are sticking to the old ones instead of trying new ones which sounds risky to them.

Yes, we are getting some users and I love the fact that mintdice team cares about marketing because that is the most important part of running a casino but do not expect it to be huge all of a sudden. It will take some years to become as big as the other huge ones, which is expected because how can a casino be in existence for 4 months and be great when there are ones who have been around for 2+ years, so it will take time but it will get there.

Thanks a lot for your comments, guys. All of you sum it up pretty neatly Smiley

It is your 4th month since you came to this forum but there is still so low number of player who are wagering regularly. How much have been wagered so far?
While most other sites are competing to each other by offering something back to players, but I see that mintdice is not really showing any progresses.
I know mintdice is focusing more to improve the site, but I think mintdice should try to have more active players who play regularly. Anytime I check the site there is always 1-2 online users only, it is just unfortunate IMO while you have some interesting games, good interface, good marketing (sign campaign), but you have low number of active players.

Naturally we also like to see a higher number of players. But as we have explained before we currently concentrate our efforts on building and improving our site, which will include mobile versions of our existing games. Furthermore we are working on brand new games. To our opinion, improving our product and fixing problems should be the highest priority. We want to deliver a solid product before focussing efforts and funds on attracting more people (through campaigns etc.). Just like Tytanowy Janusz has explained.

For now we are mostly building and improving. Having said that, this doesn't mean we do not work on drawing in new people at all. But step by step. Our daily hours and funds have limits Wink

Can the MintDice administration comment on paying spam bots?

As pointed out by others, your question did receive an answer from us. See below.

Why do you pay signature spam bots to represent your brand?

For starters, calling them "spam bots" is probably not justifiable. If you can show me any spam bots, I'd be delighted to remove them for low quality content.

If you want an honest answer as to why it's happening, it's one of many tactics we are using to build brand awareness since we are a fairly new website. Additionally, engaging with the community is helpful as BitcoinTalk has been a very useful tool in identifying things that they would like to see as our project develops. The signature campaign accelerates this aspect and pays some indirect dividends to us through this and other ways.

Thanks for your replies.

I was referring to this link https://mintdice.com/guide/investing from free guides (investing). Which I cannot click the "Casino Bitcoin Investment".

I haven't tried investing into any casino bankrolls but I do have some ideas since some relatives and friends did it some years ago. Betking bankroll investment then did very well like around 4% rate of returns monthly.

I read that there is an estimated 10,000 bitcoins gambled yearly (around 27.4 btc daily) on Mintdice. With 1% house edge then there will be around 100 btc in a year or 8.33 btc monthly earnings. I am curious on the size of the current bankroll.

You can find the current bankroll here: https://mintdice.com/account/investment/overview

If you want information on investing without entering your email address for the free guide, check out our FAQ on that topic:

Why are you all so focused on number of games? Isn't it the most important to have 1 game with the lowest house edge (like dice - 1% house edge) on trustful casino with Provably Fair system and 0 scam accusation?

Casinos with huge number of games (especially those with unknown house edge) are for gamblers who does not like their money and will bet in game with 10% house edge only because it looks fancy:)

@MintDiceSara Is it possible to show on page odds in slots and rocked game (or house edge) - just like "WIN CHANCE" in dice? I don't like to play games with unknown odds.

You can find information on the win chances of Dice in our FAQ here.

Hope this helps Smiley

I am not entirely sure if withdrawal process is like number one request from a casino, it is almost always the same among all casinos and if not the ones that are more expensive of slower usually try to get faster and cheaper without customers saying anything because they want to be in the competition and not lose customers.

I think more games and more currencies and stuff like that are more common. For some reason, some websites make a ton of casino games like 100+ different slots only and then plenty other games so forth, and some websites stay with 1-5 games instead, don't know why there is no place with like 10-20 games and that's it. It is actually a great feeling to be able to choose whatever game you want and not have to switch websites so if I wanted something it would be more games.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that you prefer not to switch websites to play different games. To our defence though, we (unlike many others) build our own games from scratch. This takes a lot of work and time. Hence we are unable to launch a large amount of games in a short amount of time. Each game takes months to build and we are a very new casino Smiley

We plan to have a solid amount of games, of which several are completely unique. We are working hard on making this happen and on creating a site that won't make you wanna switch at all Wink

Nice response @MintDiceSara,

Anyway, about the traffic. How can we sure sites that have high traffic and high betting activities, didn't use internal bots? In my opinion, traffic is not a useful metric for measuring the casino's performance. Only the casino's management knows the bottom line (P&L).

From what I see, MintDice has chosen the correct organic strategy up to this point. Keep building good stuff guys, but do it quickly before you lose the momentum.

All I can tell you is that we have never artificially inflated traffic or numbers on our website ever.
But then again, all you can do is believe me or not Smiley
