I'm very interested in the MUSIC side of EasySocial and would also like to be an ambassador for an EASYTUNES Chain if you'll be creating one?
I also think that rewarding musicians indefinitely for their music, is a brilliant idea! and one that can create a much needed ongoing stream of revenue for us.

Music is definitely one of the ones we want to focus on and have a lot of plans for that. For one thing, we plan on creating a player that we will put onto all of the interfaces on every chain we are doing so users can listen to their music chain (EasyTunes is a good name) feed while browsing EasySocial, reading posts on the blog chain or editing a photo for the photo chain. Because of this, the interface for the music chain will be more focused on the musicians and the producers and we want to add lots of features to make it easy to collaborate with other musicians from anywhere and mix and edit your music right from the site. When a song is posted that musicians collaborated on together it will appear in all of their followers feeds and they will all share in the rewards of the song at a ratio they define themselves. We also have lots of plans on different ways we can bring value to the tokens associated with each media chain including the music chain. For example, on the music chain we can make it so a user can download songs if they send the musician some tokens and maybe even organize concerts and festivals people can get tickets to using the tokens which are used to pay the acts and organizers. Lots of possibilities for sure.

That is mad, I have a few musician friends and this sounds like it would be right up their street. They are on spotify and i tunes etc. I think they wee put off by the limit on payout mentioned before. I think that this lifetime payout style is much fairer and will attract a lot more people. Is there a plan to bring a chain on-stream for writers? You mentioned poets but a writer would a lot more space. If you wanted to publish even a novella it would be far in excess of any thing that a poet would put out.

I presume that the music chain would also work for podcasts etc? I mean its just sounds (not taking away from musicians) but for storage reasons it would have a similar requirement?

We do have plans for a writer's chain that may or may not be separate from the poetry and blogging depending on demand. Our plan is to gather a group of writers (pretty much any writer who would like to participate) and work with them closely to see what type of features they would like to see on the chain, how we can give value to the tokens and other things like that. The goal is to get the people who will be using as involved in the development process as possible and that will be true for all the chains we build.

On your question about podcasts and the music chain, we will almost certainly do those as different chains. For one thing this will help prevent the resource usage (mostly disk space) a node requires for each one. Also, it allows us to give them different features and such. For example, many podcasters will often do one hour that is free for everyone to listen to and do another one that is only for their paid subscribers. So, we plan to not only incorporate this model into the podcast chain but also make it so users can unlock the second half of an individual podcast by paying some tokens without having to do a full subscription. However, this model would be completely useless for musicians since they're not likely to let you listen to half a song then make you pay to hear the other half. They're more likely to charge tokens to download it for offline listening and would likely want to organize their songs into albums that users can download.

I would be very interested to see the writers chain evolve. This could be a great extra revenue spinner for "unpublished" authors. I am currently working on a novella and this sounds like it would be a perfect space for me to test the waters. how can I get involved in shaping the chain in that space?

Podcasts, yes, this way is great, to have both a paid and unpaid option would be a great way for podcasters to generate revenue.  I have a number of friends in that space, do you have any sort of lead times on that chain?

Also is there an ICO or anything that I could look at?

The best way to get involved is to join the community on the EasyDex Discord at https://discord.gg/4ZMPUcp and/or the EasyLife Discord at https://discord.gg/ez86EBs. We're always looking for more input from everyone. Once EasySocial launches the discussion for changes to that chain and the functions and features of the other chains will be moved there but for now you should join the EasyTalk hangouts on the EasyLife Discord Saturdays at 7:00 pm UTC.

As to your question about the ICO, the official ICO is over but you can still get some tokens if you contact us on Discord or by email at support@easydex.info and there's still time to get some PB tokens before the sharedrop that will make sure you get some stake in all the future chains.

Ok I am not on discord so I'll get something set up. My son is gamer and I think he is on that app.

With the site is it mobile friendly or is there apps for it like instagram?

We plan to make mobie apps for everything but at the start it will just be the web app. The web app is optimized for mobile browsers though.

Ok cool, so do you have a messenger type application or function like in FB. I use FB messenger but I dont like to use FB, I am not a fan of my data being mined AND SOLD. Is the easy social system data mining resistant?

Sounds exciting, Im from India and i am not really good with my writing skills.
Platforms like steemit is not really where i would succeed in.
I am looking forward to more real form of social media where im not forced to blog.

So how does the sign up process work? is it hectic?

It's only hectic for us who are developing it... for the user it will be really simple. They will just choose a username and password and they will automatically have an account in all the chains at once. This will also create a Bitshares account for them and all their earnings on all of the chains will automatically be applied to their bitshares wallet so they can easily trade them for their favorite crypto, fiat or even pay for services on any of the chains in the EasyLife system.

Wow, This sounds so Easy.
I'm fed up with the slow and complicated sign-up process of other crypto platforms.
It's also revolutionary that you connected the social media to the exchange wallet.
Now I don't have to do the extra process of sending the coins to the exchange.
its a game changer according to me.

So how will the voting sytem be? will our votes be limited?

I did not know that other crypto platforms had complicated signups.  So to you this sounds easier?

I like that they are all linked. But what if I want one for work and one for play? Can they be separated like that?

Hi there I just came in to get the new claymore version 4 xmr and I stumbled across this thread. So is this more like Facebook or Twitter or Instagram or is it its own thing?

It's probably more like a blockchain-version of Twitter than anything though it also has some elements similar to Facebook and Reddit. Instagram, being image-based is a little different and we will have some image-based chains that will work with EasySocial as well, similar to how the blogging chain I mentioned earlier will work with it. They will also work with each other. For example, a blogger will be able to find a photo to illustrate his post on the photography chain and when he uses it in his blog post it will not only automatically credit the photographer but also when the blog post gets upvoted the same user will simultaneously upvote the photo's post in the photo chain.

Wow that sounds pretty amazing. So if I as a blogger create a post and use content from within the same chain or a cross chain I get rewarded and the person who's photograph or contents I quote get rewarded as well?
So if it's like Twitter is there a character count limit?

Went for an Irish supplier just in case it goes faulty.

So I had a root around and I am looking at a ASUS DUAL-GTX1060-6G - Graphics card - GF GTX 1060 - 6 GB GDDR5 - PCIe 3.0 x16

Seems Like I can decent ether hash with claymores dual miner and DEC as the second bonus coin.

How would you rate this one?

Oh and a new Power supply to power that. POWER ZONE 1000W PSU 80PLUS BRONZE EFFICIENCY ML (BN213)

Hmmm, right so, I'll have to look at an upgraded power supply down the line. As I say its a DVR chassis so there is tonnes of connectors for hdd's. there are actually 4 Hdd's in there. I'll only use the SSD OS drive and remove the others so that will free up my power connectors.

I'll get one card running and after a while expand with an extra card, risers and upgraded power supply. Any recommendations on the power supply?

Thanks Guys.

I see you're hailing from Ireland, as am I.

I couldn't find a decent price for AMD RX 580's in Ireland, so I ended up at SCAN in the UK, still cheaper than any shop in Ireland that I could find and, that's including the shipping.

The one I linked to above you could probably slot into the 1 x PCIe x 16 slot you have, to get started at least, the rest, I'm guessing you will need to get decent riser cards for.

My understanding thus far is that the PCIe slots do not need to run at generation 2/3, in fact, some sites I've read suggest that, for mining, you should set the PCIe slots to Gen 1 to avoid potential hassles.

Another thing to bear in mind, from my reading around, is that the AMD cards perform at their optimal when you flash their BIOS's to a modified BIOS, so, with that in mind, I went for the card I linked to in this post, as the BBT video on this card also had a link to the BIOS he created for this card/memory configuration.

Indeed I am, component pricing here is pretty crazy TBH. Interesting re PCIe slots, I'll have to look into that for sure, I might be able to get more than the 3 that I had thought possible.... I'd say the power supply would feed all of them. I currently have an radeon R9 M360 card in my cpu /gpu rig (which is also my desktop). I'm getting about 62 Mhz on DEC and 10.44 Mhz on Eth on GPU (overclocked to 1050 Mhz GPU with 1350 Mhz memory overclock) plus an extra 230 h/s off the cpu XMR. Not a lot, but between all my CPU miners I am getting 1.3 -5 Khz for XMR.

I'd like to get a much better Mhz on this new rig and I'm going to be free to play with Bios Etc on this one as I dont have to work on it!

I'm very very very new to mining so take my recommendations with a pinch of salt, I'm sure some guru's would correct me if I'm wrong.

To start off with:
  (a) AMD RX 4XX/5XX range are pretty good for dual mining. Personally I went with PowerColor Red Devil Gold Sample RX 580 8GB cards.
  (b) nVidia GTX 1060/1070 range are pretty good too. Personally I went with Zotac AMP! Extreme 1070 TI cards

Both of the above cards were evaluated on the BitsBeTrippin youtube channel if you want to pop over there and see what they are capable of.

I guess it all boils down to your budget and how many you want to run. The AMD RX Vega's seem to be kicking ass with CryptoNight algorythm too.

Thanks for the reply. I will build up to the max possible on this board / chassis config.

So as a starter card, something like this? ONE To start with then as I have more cash I could do another 2 of these on that board?

The main board has one PCIe3 slot so I should go with that or maybe XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition - 8GB then a couple of PCIe2 cards, one of these >>> Sapphire cards

So many options! Easy to have your head melted!

Building a rig looking for advice on GPU's
by

on 12/12/2017, 13:41:36 UTC
Hi All,

I have a few cpu miners running claymore (monero) and a CPU /GPU rig running both claymore CPU (monero) and dual coin GPU miner (Eth and Dcr).

I am looking at building a more GPU based rig. I have a decent chassis (old rack mount DVR) with an Asus P8Z77-V LX2 Board. This board has:
1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (blue) *1
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
2 x PCI

i5 cpu (cant remember the exact model)

akasa venom 750w psu

Hdd can be any, I have both plate and ssd available so will probably go with a 120 gb ssd

I think this should take at least 3 decent cards.

I have 4 chassis cooling fans built in 1 cpu and GPU's will have their own.

Any recommendations on cards for this config?

Power is essentially free so not a huge issue.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Having a complete brain fart here. Would appricate any help.

I have an I7 running the cpu miner 100% no problem,

When I run the GPU miner I am getting the "no ASM binary found for gpu 0"
GPU is amd Radeon r7 450, ive set my virtual memory to 12gb.

GPU is reporting as ~0 Capeverde, 3072 mb available, 8 compute units...

My config for miner is below.

------------------
-xpool stratum+tcp://xmr-eu.dwarfpool.com:8005
-xwal "Wallet address."
-xpsw x
-di 0
#-allpools 1
#-tt 75
________________

"wallet address" is removed but I have the same as my CPU miner config.
Any thoughts. I tried Minergate to check cards and running fine there but obviously crap hash. 160 H/s...

Thanks

Just ran 9.7 and it works ok.
