Did I just lose all my money? (Upgrade to 1.36.1 from 1.31.1) - PLEASE HELP!
by

Did I just lose close to $40K in cryptocurrency as a result of an upgrade?   Sad Sad Sad Sad

Downloaded the upgrade (from the Exodus official site), ran the install, got the "Install complete, you can run the upgraded version from the shortcut on your desktop" message, tried running it.....NOTHING.  The program does NOT come up.  Tried waiting, re-running multiple times.....the app is not coming up.  I have a VERY, VERY bad feeling.   Undecided  The thin is, I can see the Exodus process in task manager...but the app is not running on my computer.  If I completely uninstalled and re-installed, would that be the next thing to try?  Kind of desperate at this point, that is a lot of money.  (To me.)

Any word of advise would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Backing up MULTIBIT - kindly assist

Hello.

So I am absolutely clueless here and can not find an option in the wallet (I have the latest version) to allow me to back up the wallet.  I've googled and got this:   https://multibit.org/help/hd0.3/backups.html

I am still scratching my head.  Yeah, I have the original word phrase and all that...but I want to BACK UP my wallet to a usb drive or something in case something goes wrong with the hard drive on my desk top where the wallet lives.  Is there a specific file or files that I need to save on the usb drive?

Please help?

Thank you very much in advance!!

Thanks very much for the response.

I do see the addresses generated, but they have "0 transactions" when I checked on blockchain.info  (Thanks for the tip, btw.)  This is a legitimate mining service (genesis mining) I know that people use them and successfully get payouts.  The addresses in the "Payments" are the ones that I have specified in genesis settings (I see the record there) so not sure what the problem is.  Just to test, I switched the address to my coinbase.com btc address...I see the payout on to that address on the genesis side, but not coinbase.  Really at a loss.

Thanks again for the response and if there is any other relevant information you could provide, I would be very much obliged.

No, addresses are not one time only... although it is not advised for privacy reasons, you can re-use addresses multiple times.

On your "Payments" screen, you should see the address that was generated when you did the "Request".

1. Is this definitely the address that your cloudmining service has?
2. Have you checked that address on a blockexplorer like www.blockchain.info? Does it show the payments being made by your cloud mining service and a non zero balance?

PLEASE help a newbie? (Multibit...)

Hello.

It is entirely plausible that I just don't know what I'm doing but...so I installed mutlibit (latest Windows version.)  I have a cloud mining subscription that does a daily payout to the BTC address that you specify.  I did "request" in Multibit and and provided the given BTC address to the mining service.  I've checked after a week - the payouts have indeed been happening every 24 hours to the address provided...but my balance in Multibit is 0 btc.    (Now, I know that each time you do a "request" in multibit, a NEW address is generated....so are these one time only?  i.e. you can not provide a same address that lasts for sometime / ever?)  What am I doing wrong?

Thank you very, very much in advance!!

Can someone advise?  From 0.5.3b to 0.8.2

The problem appears in the fact that the old one was a Username and the new one requires an E-mail address to login.  So I when I do "Send" from the old one, it asks for the username.....and entring the E-MAIL of my new wallet gives me an error.

Please advise.

Many thanks in advance.

Anyone?  (To the above?)  Can anyone assist?  This is so frustrating......  Sad

I mean, it mines, but gives me the standard "sync successful but rolled back due to excess coins"/message.  Been doing it for about 5 weeks now.  Stuck at 476 coins since early June. Sad

Any ideas?  Using the 0.5.3 version on Droid TurboMaxx.

Thanks in advance.

Hey MoreGuney,

Sorry, but mining on the old (orange) app is disabled.
In order to continue mining you will need to update to the new (blue) app.
You can download it from Google Play.
Here is a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mangocoinz

Best regards, Srele from MangoCoinz.

Thanks very much for the reply.  I swear I'm entering the same email / password in the new client I just downloaded, but keep getting the " invalid username or password"/message.  Smiley. Is there a password reset option?  (Don't see one.)

Thanks again.

Request for the DEV team.

I have an issue with the wallet.  I have purchased a new phone.  Downloaded the wallet and tried logging in, but it says that I'm "logged in on another device somewhere and to log out of that device".  The problem is that I know for SURE that my old phone has been wiped clean.  I quadruple checked it.

Please assist.

So how DO I join the class action lawsuit.  They are at this point late on my "May Batch" of the 2TH/s COINTERRA IV model.  NOT A SINGLE reply (other than automated messages) to my voice and e-mails.  And now, I read that the units are NOT 2TH/s and consume far more power than advertised.  Am I out of $6K?  (Don't blame anyone but myself, actually....)

There are hundreds of posts on the forum if you are inclined to find out more about what has happened. Just remember that there are often two side to every story.

Put these in your config file......

addnode=162.208.11.45
addnode=198.27.109.80

not sure if these will help or not, but we have miners mining thousands of coins all day now to the pool and then withdrawing it on a regular basis to their wallets.  So it does not appear anything in our network is not working.  c

Thanks again.

I've put these in a config file (it's the only thing in the config file....)  still nothing.  So frustrating.  Should the config file be in the IPC folder or in the appdata \ roaming folder?  If that doesnt work, I'm giving up.

Thanks for all your patience.

Well. we just closed three wallets on different computers and opened them all back up with no issues.  You could try the add node option with 198.27.109.80 - use just one and see if that helps some. As far as we know, you are the only one having this issue.  Have you tried it without your old wallet.dat file?  Maybe the old one got corrupted some way.

Thank you so much for the info.  Could you kindly tell me how?  (Like I said - a newbie.)  Smiley

Thanks again.

Honest, it just doesn't connect.  I even used the "impcoin-qt.exe -connect=162.208.11.45" to start...same thing.  I'm kind of technically challenged, but this is from the log during the last time I opened the wallet.  Oh, and I am mining on the proper pool.  (IPCminer.com)

Anything at all you can advise?  I'm really sorry to be a bother.

Used to connect.....not sure what happened.  But just no connectin at all anymore, no matter how long I leave the wallet open.  Sad  So I deleted this installation, delete from appdata\roaming, (kept the wallet.dat, of course), downloaded from the site, installed the new wallet, put the original wallet.dat into the appdata\roaming folder and ......nothing, no connection at all.  Can someone provide any ideas please?  I just mined a bunch of coins so would love to get them to the wallet.  Sad

Thank you so very much in advance!

Hello.

I was hoping someone could assist / advise.  I've head some devcoins (~100K) in my wallet but haven't added any in at least six months.  So I open the wallet, it doesn't sync, so I do the usual - delete the devcoin wallet folder, delete the devcoin associated files in appdata/roaming (EXCEPT the WALLET.DAT, of course,) download the new version and run it.....after it 'synced' (it DOES list all the previous transactions, all the blocks, etc.  But they are all GRAYED OUT and my balance is 0.  Sad  Can anyone assist with this issue?

Many thanks in advance!

Wait for it to sync.

I have.  Sad  Still says "0".  Oh, and "WARNING: Displayed transactions may not be correct".  Is all lost?

Thanks again.

Most likely, your wallet installation is fucked, but your coins are fine as long as the wallet.dat is intact. If you can get the private keys, you can spend your coins.

Thank you very much for the information.  I downloaded the Devcoin-WindowsBundle.  Should I try something else?  Thanks again.
