This will be my last OT post, but if you dig the Edison hate and haven't already read the Oatmeal's awesome take on Tesla, here is a link:

Learned more about the man in 15 minutes from TheOatmeal than in 16 years of school.

No worries, I'm the exact same way with Thomas Edison. That dirty rat.
And also JP Morgan (the man) and Ronald Regan.

I hope to see an overhaul of my gov during my lifetime. It saddens me deeply to know, based on empirical historical data, that a true overhaul only comes at the cost of bloodshed.

The topic was why do we want to take $ away from the gov, then, secondly, who would then build our roads. Well, here in the USA, it would be the same private contractors that build them now. Tolls would be a lot higher, but without 80% of every dollar I make going directly and indirectly to taxes, if I wasn't losing that the higher toll (for every public service I utilized) would be much easier to manage.

I see your point, and I agree that as a person TJ was in most human aspects a fine upstanding example of utter douchebaggery.

Lol, so now one has to accomplish something to believe it.

I'll keep that in mind when attempting to direct information your way in the future.  Huh

Yes.

No.

It was unveiled sarcasm.
And if it were a contest for the best Champion of Liberty, then, yes. There are much better examples. Not many of which helped write my country's constitution, but we seem to be all over the place with this convo so it's really moot.

People who aren't looking for something to argue about see that the point of quoting said quote is simply to point out that one of the people responsible for our country's government didn't give it more than 20 years before that same government (that he helped set up) would have to be put in check by its own people.

Or do you read racism, bigotry and masochism? Character studies and the merits of an individual are where ad hominem arguments don't look stupid.

People celebrate Columbus Day every year, and he was a child sex slave trader and made natives wear their own hands around their necks for not meeting his gold quota, so yes. I'm quoting Jefferson because of the pivotal role he played in the setting up of my country and it's government. And also the fact that it fits the current conversation.
Who do you quote? Jesus? Please do.

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

Thomas Jefferson, To William S. Smith Paris, Nov. 13, 1787

Option 1: Pay a criminal you know to steal a miner and pay him up to $1k
Option 2: Buy 1.2 BTC
Option 3: Hide a bunch of block eruptors in a custom case, and call it "Custom"
Option 4: Keep saving, and utilize CTRL+C/ CTRL+V on Google's translation page

The Silk Road bust was brilliant, shutting down a site full of criminal degenerates and using all the gathered intel to bust more criminals. Now with that there will be improvement to shut down each and every criminal enterprise related to bitcoin and keep it pure, unused by scumbags that belong in prison.

Says the Average Joe who likely has a medicine cabinet full of "Approved" drugs.

SR had an anit-child-porn policy. They had my support after that.

Airline style.

Everyone pays for everything they use, and nothing they don't. Plenty of money left over.

Every road is a toll road.
Every bridge is a toll bridge.
Security and protection cost $ (cops don't really protect anymore, they investigate) and those who need it will be able to afford it
The military is in serious need of democratization.

Just research how much of your dollar goes to tax in the end. Not just obvious direct taxes, but indirect taxes. (Costs passed down to you)

You didn't answer my question about a full refund. I'm only going to reply to you again if you give me a full answer to that question.

Avenger, there are times when you actually make logical arguments and actually help the community. Why balance that out with troll flame requests like the above? You are the sort of customer that KNC would probably be better off without - it's not like they have a shortage of non-asshole customers lined up waiting to send their money.

Lol, nothing will change, canth. He's made up his mind a long time ago (for whatever reasons) that KNC can do no right and that each and every setback or mistake is a verified justification of his disapproval and vindicates his trolling.

AVENGER PLEASE POST PROOF THAT YOU HAVE A KNC MINER HASHING IN YOUR POSSESSION AND PLEASE POST THE FAULTS THAT THE UNIT HAS!

Why?

Because a LOT fewer people would think he's a simple-minded representative of another company, based on his post history.

Need another reason?

Damn! Lost on betsofbitcoin, betting that Bitcoin would hit $1,000 USD before this thread hits 1,000 pages. Maybe Luke can help me find a loophole.

Fake Edit: Found one! USD was not stated so I'm claiming it was for CNY.

~TMIBITW

lol, ouch.

One thing I would love is this thread to slow down, I'm almost considering hiring someone to read me the posts in Morgan Freemans voice.

Just hire Morgan Freeman himself.  It appears that he won't turn down any job and will narrate just about anything these days.   Cool

Except Robot Chicken , but then they found a white guy who does a better Morgan Freeman than Morgan Freeman.

"large mining pools are a threat to the system.

"Miners should therefore break off from large pools until no pool exceeds the threshold size, and so no pool can benefit from the Selfish-Mine strategy," Eyal and Sirer wrote."

Sound familiar guys?

Those of us using 28nm technology are at the forefront in mining right now.  What we do can surely affect the future of the currency.  We are powerful, and the powerful should exercise wisdom when using their power.  This applies to mining.

In a former post I was criticized for my warnings.  I am not sure why anyone would want to make their investment worthless by doing something to harm the ecosystem they are mining in... potentiality making their miner worthless if the system fails.  Some posted that it "should fail" if it cannot withstand ignorance and greed.

I do not agree.  I have power.  You have power.  I again ask those that want to be a positive, balancing force against the threat of consolidation to get out of the big pools that are becoming a threat to our future income and join me in smaller, diversified pools to make our network stronger; more resistant to this kind of attack, and viable for long-term profit.

Good intentions, but will end up kind of like voting. You may actually have the right answer for the right reasons, but your single vote won't matter much. Organizing a multitude of votes, yes. But the "masses" will always vote with the sheep mentality. Or, in this case, the pools with the best fee/payout structures.
