Huh thanks everyone

I think Forra is responsible for allowing users to buy eBay items with bitcoin. You can read more about it here: https://hackernoon.com/how-to-spend-your-bitcoin-and-crypto-on-ebay-items-dd6347b532ec

I want to get a 3% discount on buying 500 BTC.

Hey OP, please be very careful in dealing with anyone here. If you'd really like to purchase BTC, please do so in your trusted exchange. If you received a DM with offers that is too good to be true, ignore that offer and move on.

Doing your own research (a.k.a. “DYOR”) is a common mantra that’s used frequently across the cryptocurrency and blockchain communities; and for good reason. DYOR is a continuous process for all of us. Whenever you consider investing in a cryptocurrency project, it’s important to thoroughly understand the use case behind it, the technology and execution plan, and other details such as the token economics and background of the development teams. Furthermore, the monitoring and examination of cryptocurrency projects is not a one-time deal for investors. It’s an on-going process and investors need to stay informed about things like project milestones, changes or additions to development teams, announcements, and external threats from competing projects or changes in the regulatory environment.  Smiley

Re: Why do whales move Bitcoin around from wallet to wallet?
by
Muzika
on 28/09/2019, 10:34:07 UTC
Whales influence the Bitcoin market trends by utilizing certain trading strategies. The Rinse trade is more effective when utilized by a whale, as they have enough assets to trigger a price movement. To achieve this, the whale sells off a large amount of Bitcoin at prices lower than the market rate. This move could cause a chain reaction in the market as small traders panic and sell off their Bitcoins. The panic sell-off would cause the price of Bitcoin to reach a new low, and the whale buys more Bitcoin than he or she had originally sold. Repeating this technique is what they call the "Rinse and Repeat Cycle".

Re: Bitcoin versus other offline currencies
by
Muzika

As a NEWBIE, how would you explain bitcoin as against other offline currencies?
Which one has more market value and why do you think so ?

Simple, Bitcoin has a proven usage case as a store of value. It’s instructive that most coins try to carve out some differentiation based on much smaller use cases, such as prediction markets, buying things completely anonymously or adding a decentralized name server. It has a large lead as a store of value over every altcoin in having existed 8 years without failure. The security of Bitcoin has been proven far more than its much younger counterparts with usage by almost every metric exceeding that of altcoins. Also, it is more accessible, with more exchanges, more merchants, more software and more hardware that support it. Plus, it is far more liquid, with much larger volumes than every altcoin.

When you compete with Bitcoin, not only are you competing with its much larger user base, development team and mining operation, but you’re also competing against the very large ecosystem of startups, open source projects and entrepreneurs.

I have been hearing this news for two years, but there is no specific information, only gossip, the results are zero.

lol same sentiments. on the bright side, it's good to know that there are some "gossips" and ideas are flying around.  who knows, maybe 5 years from now, we'll see some results.

What do you think is the real reason Crypto is not becoming Mainstream?

Simple answer...
THE GOVERNMENT
well, that's the case in some countries. Also, the media has a big part of it since they portray crypto as a negative thing. They don't highlight its' advantages. What I hate the most personally is when they use "Bitcoin: Used to purchase drugs and guns" and at the same time they don't realize USD can also be used to purchase drugs and guns lol  Wink

Re: Blockchain and crypto books for crypto
by
Muzika
on 28/09/2019, 09:38:06 UTC
I noticed that (which is quite contradicting) it is hard to buy crypto and Blockchain books with actual crypto. Hence, I want to sell them for crypto.
Is there a demand for it?

Best,
Vince

It really depends on your target market. Like what kind of crypto books will you sell? will it be for beginners or will it be for advanced users?
For example, if your book is about the basics of blockchain and cryptocurrency, it's not possible to sell them only via BTC, ETH, or other alt coins. It's still best to use a basic payment method like credit/debit cards.
And if let's say, an advanced user would like to purchase a book about blockchain and cryptocurrency, i doubt if they'll even purchase a book for added knowledge when there are a lot of podcasts and research materials available for free just by searching via google. But of course, I might be wrong. Just sharing my own opinion.

I prefer Luno. Luno allows users in Europe to purchase bitcoins with a credit card or debit card. They offer very low fees and it has been around for a long time. Plus, free deposits and low withdrawal fees!  Cool

What is XYO miner?

I believe he's talking about the Sentinels. When you have a Sentinel, you can geomine XYO tokens via the COIN app (available both in iOS and Android). You can easily learn more about them by searching it via google.
