It would also work fine with Trezor. There are a couple of other platforms also working on this to ease the connection with the blockchain. We will explore integrating with them.

At best wait for Automyr to answer your question, since he is more in-depth about sharding implementation until mainnet, if it's nessecary or not. Keep in mind tho, that the demand on day one of the launch won't be gigantic. Things have to take a while to get mass adopted And the result of no sharding at launch of mainnet would just be, that the IOTA network overall have to do more snapshots in a shorter period of time
