Another 0.6 BTC means AM has to generate more than 240K BTC in the future.
This looks like a fallacy to me.
It would be true if AM's only gains would be from mining, but they will come from selling to other users instead, so there's no hard limit on how can they earn.

Of course the users would be mining themselves with their chips, and your post would imply they won't break even... well, yes, might be true. Still, they might buy anyway, like they did so far so often.

Yes, most buyers are too optimistic in buying hardware but we cannot expect them never do calculation before buying. More and more buyers have learnt the lessons and becomes more realistic in calculating mining income. Therefore, AM can earn more than what their chips can mine, but not too much. If they are lucky, they may even double the BTC by selling due to the over-optimism of buyers , but it is still proportional to the number of BTC left (as long as tx fees can be ignored). Moreover, I've ignored the cost in my computing and AM will not ignore them in dividend distributing.

This makes sense, but you may be leaving out two relevant (ASIC Mining gear) market segments:
1) New Bitcoin investors that prefer to mine their coins instead of buying them (there are different reasons for this that have been discussed somewhere else)
2) "Corporate Miners" that need to stay on top of the game

Also, you should be very cautious when declaring the whole mining industry "not profitable at current difficulty levels" - as long as Bitcoin prices keep moving they have, it will be extremely difficult to prove this assertion. Looking at ROI in BTC alone can be an extremely misleading simplification.

I'm getting nervous, chances price may drop after the dividend, and probably I'm sleeping that time.

You can always buy some puts at BTC-TC to hedge your investment.
(you can find them in the Options tab, under ASICMINER-PT, there are some at 4.6xx strikes)

cool what are we supposed to be watching for---= Final Balance    0 BTC---- ..thanks

I understand that what you are doing is generaly known as trolling; I am just wondering what rational purpose could that serve.
Seriously, how do you benefit from this?
And why do you use that funny "..thanks" signature?

Maybe this is a naïve question, but I really got curious.

Please make an effort to answer in English, will you?

Well, they are well below the estimated 20%!
I'm not sure how to prove it statistically, but it surely looks like variance is not the sole responsible for the deviation...

Funny thing is I've been wanting to buy since early in the year but never had the time to do my due diligence research wise. I got fed up and finally bought some shares.

There's a nice concept!
May I ask how you intended to do your due diligence on ASICMINER?
I confess I tried and did not succeed: from what I know there is no shred of guarantee last week's dividends were not the last.

All I could find is that the hardware exists - it has been bought and used by too many (apparently) independent people, and that there seems to be a good number of folks that have already got much more in dividends then they have put in... Now, this certainly tells a story, but should it justify the incredible valuation of the stock?

(interested to hear your opinion, though it may be *way* off-topic here  Roll Eyes )

The post count is easy enough to achieve with pointless one-line responses, but getting past the 4 hour minimum requires wasting time browsing junk.

58 minutes to go...
You can read anything, you're not limited to the newbies section...
On the other hand, in order to avoid making a full of yourself in your "first day at school", it may be good to try to read a bit of the threads you are posting on, and say something a bit smarter than "Hello World!"  Smiley

I tend to agree with daemonfox's argument.

In fact, they:
1. Didn't run in the most appropriate time for them (after cashing in all the pre-orders), but instead stayed around to get all the blame on their face and even return money to people

2. Have shown evidence of technical progress, by shipping some units to well known folks - why do this if you're mining in stealth mode with your secretly available hw?

On the other hand, pouring money into a project while in the R&D phase is quite common, even in the "dangerous" BTC-World (How was ASICMINER funded?). Everybody knows it is risky - very risky, in fact - but that's a different story.

Stay firm, daemonfox!
