Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this?
by
Obito

The Big Win that I once got, half of which I spent on gambling again, I should have been able to use for something unexpected "like what happened in my life few months after my big win". But, everything has happened, and I have to accept that fact. Regret, of course there is. But let it be a memory and something I can tell to remember the times when I was actively playing slots and getting maxwin. Now, this must be a valuable lesson in life, not to be careless in using money to gamble if get a maxwin.
The main reason why half of your winnings got spent into gambling again is just because you looking for another big win that's why instead of using the money that you've won in gambling to buy things that are more useful, you've chosen to gamble again, but that is normal because most of the people who earn the money in an easy way also lost it in the most easiest way also. The main point of this is that once you've won big money in gambling just gamble the 10% of your winnings and if you lose then let it go maybe that day is not for you.

Re: Telegram launches crypto currency wallet.

I'm just sad because Telegram now is having these things especially when they started to have their own cryptocurrency (TON) and now this.
I am a fan of Telegram because it's a very easy-to-use and lightweight messaging platform and I believe that they must focus on that part only without adding some feature that could make the platform really bad.

I really agreed with these too, it's been years since the first day that Telegram was launched and I've been an avid fan of Telegram since day one. having this kind of very friendly user messaging application helps us in so many ways due to its minimal design that helps people to easily understand the app. Every application is growing and we need to accept what the developers want to do it is also a part of growth in which the Application may grow more.

Re: What is the drive that makes women go into gambling?
by
Obito
on 21/09/2023, 02:48:34 UTC
I rarely see women doing gambling but one of the reasons is that because of friends they will accompany their friends and have fun meaning they are into entertainment and at the same time they are bonding with each other if this is a physical casino.

Most women play at online casinos now just to be safe, and their reason is the same as ours to have fun or might be wanting to win a huge money to spend on something else

I've been playing for years in casinos especially, physical casinos, and at every table that I've been sitting there is always a woman sitting and playing/gambling. There may be a lot of reasons why they are gambling, one reason is that they practice their social skills by meeting new people and also to socializing with other players. Gambling or playing is not always you want to win huge money but also to have some fun and bond with other players.

Much as like to believe you, most of my crypto is staked so I don't really have any choice but to use exchanges to store my crypto, it's not like they're going to steal everything and most of them are too obsessed with reputation that they're frantic and paranoid of their security and taking care of my coins, maybe this would be a big deal if I have aroun a 1000 bitcoins but no, I only have a fraction so it don't matter to me if they steal my meager stash.

Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se
by
Obito
on 14/05/2023, 15:07:27 UTC
I think it's a matter of semantics, laundering is concealing the origin, mixing is trying to hide the taint by mixing it with clean crypto. Mixing is also done in money laundering, I mean don't Saul Goodman explaining it to Jesse a good example of that? The fact that you've added per se in your argument means that you have doubts.

And when the value of bitcoin falls, the value of other cryptocurrencies also fall, meaning that the impact of Bitcoin is strong regardless of its price in the market.
Not most of the time, there are some altcoin that continues to go up even when bitcoin is going down during altseason but yes I can agree that the impact of bitcoin is strong given that the down times can be an indicator for altseason.

I don't think that you need to warn most people here in the forum, pretty sure that most of them trust bitcoin that this setback in the price isn't really a big deal to them, some might even see this, including me as an opportunity to buy and accumulate more to increase our holdings but I get your PSA, some are panicking but good thing there are people like you that cares to ease their worries.

You've clearly informed him of the risk of investing and I don't think that he isn't stupid that he doesn't know that investing comes with an inherent risk no matter how promising the rewards are, and in your post, I didn't see any signs that you(OP) forced your friend to invest so no, you didn't do anything wrong.

Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin
by

To some level I would agree that Internet is a limitation for bitcoin but there are physical tokens that can store bitcoin in them that you can buy, you can use that to trade for fiat if you need it but in terms of trading, you might have a problem. Remember OP, mankind has survived this long because we always find a way.

Re: Crypto Awareness: Bitcoin logos on T-Shirts
by

on 10/05/2023, 14:26:12 UTC
That person is definitely making bank, he/she knows the trend and makes a merchandise out of it, I think that this is more than just promotion but more on the business side but hey, who am I to judge, it still has the logo so in a way it still promotes bitcoin. I hope that you can see the legalization of bitcoin in your country, seems kind of a backward thinking for the government to outlaw bitcoin transactions when they can profit from it through taxation.

Re: Will Aliens accept BTC, What about newborns?
by

on 09/05/2023, 17:06:51 UTC
A little egotistic to think that Aliens will conform to our societal traditions and beliefs, money and economy included.
The other way around though, if we don't cover this stuff then we are ruling out a possibility entirely because we think they're going to be different from us. You know that sometimes, truth will be stranger than fiction. On the topic about the aliens though, I think that we will either establish a contact first or we're going to them for war, that's my first thought about this, humans are a big pile of xenophobes so I don't think we will be using bitcoin for diplomacy or even diplomacy for that matter when we meet extraterrestrials.

Re: Liechtenstein is considering to accept bitcoin for government payments
by
Obito
on 09/05/2023, 15:29:07 UTC
Nice to see if this proposal will come true, although this mean the Liechtenstein's citizens can pay directly the government service with Bitcoin, but it don't need to make Bitcoin to become a legal tender because there's will be a strict regulation they need to follow. Just don't ban Bitcoin and let the citizens know if they're not against of Bitcoin usage, it's enough,
Yeah, no big difference if they consider bitcoin as a legal tender rather than just make it as a means of payment. Making bitcoin a legal tender only confirms it's legitimacy so definitely a no big deal. Another win for crypto and this one is much more better since the government isn't losing anything here since they're going to quickly convert it to hard currency.

Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then?
by
Obito
on 06/05/2023, 14:32:03 UTC
Well, it's obvious that all of us want to go back during the time that bitcoin is priced in as centavos and, we'd buy for sure a lot of it and will just have to wait until the right time comes to sell and we'd all be millionaires or even billionaires. But, I don't want to dwell in the past anymore and I know that this is just a situation discussion but then we should be moving on and it's hard to get stuck in the past and have all of those regrets get us reminded on where are we during those great times.
That's right but that's not the point of the original topic, it talks about the could've been things for many of us, it indulges our fantasies even just for awhile and I think that what OP is trying to point out here is that even if we have the machine, there's still uncertainty and we won't be able to predict accurately what could possibly happen.

Re: Investment in bitcoin
by
Obito
on 27/04/2023, 06:27:09 UTC
Bitcoin investment is profitable if you hold it for a long time. Investing in bitcoin can secure your future, so you can't really make regular profit from bitcoin investments.
So you need other sources of income to generate regular income or bitcoin. There are so many opportunities where you can make bitcoin.
Technically, it's true but if you're relying on it alone by hodling on it then it's not profitable per se because you're not creating a constant profit although you are expecting a profit nonetheless. Totally that you need another source of income, with the current world economy, it's really in anyone's best interest that they have a multiple streams of income.

Re: What will you do with bitcoin?
by
Obito
on 26/04/2023, 15:53:04 UTC
One thing you should remember is to never marry the bag unless you plan on holding on to it for a long time because that's what you are going to do when you try to ride the hype and you didn't sell at peak because you thought it's not going to go down anymore. I believe that the next bull for bitcoin will make it reach the 100k territory so that's my mark to sell and for now I plan to accumulate as much as I can while the price is still affordable and I can get more bang for my buck.

Re: The Bitcoin market is back on track
by
Obito
on 26/04/2023, 14:16:01 UTC
Basically I do not understand the reason for so much volatility in the market. Is this volatility a good sign of the market or a bad sign of the market?
Volatility is a bit of both, it's good that the market is volatile because when prices go down suddenly, you can get in at a lower price and because of the volatility, there's a chance it will go up and you making a profit and it's a bad one especially if you're a panic seller because volatility causes unhinged emotions to go off rails and make you decide unreasonable things when you're in the market like panic buying or selling.

To be honest, there's no way that they will all suddenly sell their bitcoins all at once, they could've done that back when bitcoin was at 70k, I'm sure that there's something different here that we should really just mind our own business, just be prepared nonetheless because whatever happens, if you're prepared then you won't really feel the negative effects if there's any.

Re: Gas station payment with bitcoin.
by
Obito
on 25/04/2023, 16:12:38 UTC
Don't think that bitcoin will be the main payment method. It may even only attract up to 20 customers in the first few days, who then slowly return to conventional methods. Then it won't affect the OP's business too much.

Paying bitcoins for small transactions still comes with a fee, anyone would consider using it rarely.

That's what I've realized about 3 hours after I posted that reply and you're right it won't affect but I haven't really seen anyone really use bitcoin as a means to pay for goods and service. Maybe big business that sells products at higher price might be able to do it but then again, it comes to the problem I presented.

You need to decide for yourself OP, not just because some website told you to wait, it should be on your own volition not to mention that there's a probability that that website is going to tell you to buy when the market is already going up and nearing it's peak. The best way to do something is to start something.

Re: Benefits of Bitcoins recent price drop
by
Obito
on 24/04/2023, 08:56:00 UTC
With the recent price drop of Bitcoin it gives the investors an opportunity to buy Bitcoin at a lower price that is one of it's benefits.
Exactly, a lot of people are worrying too much about the price dropping, when it's always been an opportunity to buy whenever the prices are down and now with bitcoin's strong market price history, it should be a no-brainer for many people to get into it while it's not yet skyrocketing. But not many have the money to spend to get into long-term so we have to factor that in.
