I was just reading that. Is anyone really surprised though? I think unless a coin is actually big already, you should automatically assume that the person tweeting about it is involved in it somehow.

Re: How to send 0.0000004 BTC?

40 satoshi? I'd use the lightning network for that. But then if you don't already have them in the lightning network, you would need to pay more to convert them to LN.

Also, what do you mean by "service that allows sending such small amounts"? You want to send that amount to someone and you're just wondering about a wallet that lets you do that? Or you want an exchange to convert this small amount to another coin.

Yes it does offer locker delivery but the issue is that I want to buy directly from the manufacturer. You know how Amazon is. Someone can buy it, tamper with it, shrink wrap it and just send it back for refund. I think someone from Amazon had an issue where they bought a hardware wallet and the seed was already created.

Regarding local brick store. Again I am having issues with those. They all look sketch to me. Not saying they aren’t honest but they aren’t as large and trusted as BestBuy.

The only thing I could think of is using a package forwarding company. I don't believe they would have issues shipping there, it should not be treated the same as PO boxes. Obviously, you could also be paranoid about the workers at their warehouse... but that's just too much.

What do you think could be improved, and what new features would you like to see in Trezor Suite?

It looks like they're planning to step up their mobile app game. If you visit the website, you can see the option to choose between "I have iOS" or android. Good to see! So far, the Trezor suite Lite doesn't really do much aside from watching the wallet's balance.

The Nano S has been discontinued (with other models too): https://support.ledger.com/article/360010500620-zd

Personally, I wouldn't buy a ledger device especially after the whole recovery system they pushed some time ago (not sure how things are right now, and if they have made any more clarifications, etc. I haven't been following).

As for your second question, you can check this article: https://support.ledger.com/article/4404389367057-zd

I just installed the app and tried doing that (android) and it's working fine. I created the wallet -> went to "Security" tab --> clicked "back up" and it's showing me the seed phrase just fine (6 words, then you click continue to see the other 6).

A new update has been pushed a couple of days ago with UI redesign and most importantly, Monero support. Users can also connect to their own nodes. More features (for monero users) are coming soon: https://x.com/unstoppablebyhs/status/1957441352289165460

It also looks like the wallet has started to implement DEXes, bridges, Defi for earning, etc. so I would imagine that those things would help fund the project even further.

by

Is this a stolen account? Why would you sell your own account that has 118 BTC on it on an exchange that requires KYC? And most importantly, why did you deposit such a ridiculous amount of money into a shady exchange like YoBit, probably (and without exaggeration) the worst exchange to ever exist. This whole story make no sense.

Monero vs. Qubic Drama
by
OmegaStarScream
on 16/08/2025, 15:06:44 UTC
I have been seeing a lot of posts (contradicting ones too) lately about Monero, and how Qubic has now the ability to pull a 51% attack because they control most of the mining power. On the other hand, I have also seen posts on X saying that Qubic is lying, and that it's true....

I'd appreciate if someone could shed more light on this as this looks like an attack on the integrity of the network whether the attack is real or a lie.

Ofc I can't get pm's and all, but the API key will be like an access permission without putting your sensitive credentials, you know what I mean

I do understand, but that's not possible. Users cannot generate API keys, so you would either:

1. Make an app/extension that actually connects to the user accounts using his credentials (no one would use this unless it's open source, and run in the client side)
2. Or, an extension that would use your current session in your browser (obviously that comes with certain limiations).

You cannot request data using API keys. You would have to scrape the data (threads, mentioned posts, etc.) manually and work on that. For PMs, that's not doable unless you make the user run an extension or his own script locally to get those information's.

See here, they have an article about this: https://support.kraken.com/articles/360026925951-how-to-transfer-authenticator-app-sign-in-2fa-to-a-new-phone-and-bypass-sign-in-2fa-for-a-lost-phone-

I'm guessing you didn't setup a master key, nor did you keep the recovery key for the 2FA so right now, your best bet would be to contact the support.

Not sure I understand the second part about the app not getting or being able to verify? but the Telegram's built in wallet is obviously not something you should use. AFAIK, you get no seedphrase, it's a custodial wallet. Not different than using an exchange.

Dormant addresses and source of income/funds

Let's say you got bitcoin (or any other coin) back when it was very cheap. You bought a hardware wallet, and you held it through all of these years. It's now worth hundreds of thousands (or more). Is it safe to say that you're still likely to be asked for the source of these funds even when they can see the funds has been moved from a dormant address?

So you mean Govt can do anything, no risk no AML ?

Now I don't know the legalities of it but we have seen the german and U.S goverments selling bitcoin before (from silk road for example) so I would say such a score have no meaning for them yes. Who's going to punish the exchange for allowing "dirty" funds? the same goverment who wants to sell?

eXch has their own liquidity, just because they let the hackers use the exchange through their app, does not mean the seized funds belong to the Bybit exchange. I don't believe eXch froze them, did they?

Re: What do you look out for before using a crypto exchange platform?
by
OmegaStarScream
on 03/08/2025, 16:18:23 UTC
Based on your description for the "security" part, one would really eliminate 99% of the exchanges out there, because that's how many platforms has been compromised in the past: https://de.fi/rekt-database

Security is obviously very important obviously, but when you dealing with large exchanges, that usually doesn't really affect the user experience because the exchange (Binance, Bybit or OKX to name a few) coud easily reimburse their users and continue operating as if nothing happened. I think what's more important is data leaks and user's personal information's.

Transparency and communication are very important too. We all understnad that exchanges have to follow certain rules and regulations, that's fine but if your account is froze because of a transaction you received, and then you end up going back and fourth with the exchange for weeks, or months... that's obviously not the way to go by things.
