Hi Rangedriver,

Love your enthusiasm to be honest and I sure do hope you are right. However in my scenario I am going thru personal issues where I would be needing an exit and I am looking at September 20th-28th.

Whats your rough estimate prediction at that point frame in terms of price?

Thanks in advance.

If you're playing with large amounts of money that you depend upon for your livelihood then you absolutely should not be listening to me. Predicting prices with atomic accuracy is fun for me. Nothing more than that. It's really no different from trying to guess how many cookies there are in a jar and is nigh impossible. Drunken pub games at best.

So if you've got a deadline or you're looking for an exit then certainly you should be looking to err on the side of caution. Don't even think about doing otherwise.

Still think we may see 0.07 in the coming few months?

Market feels like possible long bear season ahead...

Definitely! This small decline in price don't mean much and if i had to guess i think this is the bottom, around .025 and high .024's

Yes, XMR has risen greatly, but it's far from done. Just look at the relevant metrics. Reddit subscribers, IRC activity, Github activity, third party services, etc. Now compare these to other cryptocurrencies. For most of the metrics, Monero is right behind Ethereum. However, Monero's market cap is 16x smaller than Ethereum. So my view is that Monero is still underpriced. I can't see how it doesn't move up to #5 or higher.

Monero's biggest problem was lack of awareness. People mistakenly thought that Bitcoin was anonymous, and the Monero team was busy making Monero rock solid. The last few days have resulted in a tremendous increase in awareness of Monero. People are starting to realize that their Bitcoin is completely traceable, and Monero is perfectly positioned to benefit. Another 5x increase is not just possible, but very likely. If you're worried about buying at a high price, then distribute your buys over time.

You described exactly how i'm thinking, we have a long way to go still. We will probably just continue to climb upwards for quite some time.

Code:
* Average Users Online (Reddit) *

Bitcoin 7783 (297,575)
Ethereum 1463 (109,661)
Litecoin 1461 (48,853)
Monero 797 (20,022)
NEO 562 (19,020)
NEM 135 (5333)
Dash 130 (7659)
Ethereum Classic 124 (6496)
Zcash 120 (4439)
IOTA [unknown] (13,763)

Code:
* Average Users Online (IRC) *

Bitcoin 1314
Ethereum 533
Monero 515
Litecoin 205
Dash 55
Zcash 52
Ethereum Classic 27
IOTA 15
NEM 7
NEO [na]

Code:
* Market Cap *

Bitcoin $70.2 billion
Ethereum $30.5 billion
Litecoin $2.7 billion
IOTA $2.3 billion
NEM $2.3 billion
Dash $2.2 billion
NEO $2.0 billion
Ethereum Classic $1.4 billion
Monero $1.2 billion

One of these tables is going to correct. You do the math.

Beautiful! I'm pretty sure XMR is/was supressed by a big player for quite some time now, but with the recent increase in overall marketcap i think it's going to be much harder to keep it down. Up, up and away!

I can not tell why Moreno's price is so high. Can someone explain the reason for this to me?

Monero team had previously lied to their supporters. Did everyone forget that? Please do not forget everything, because forgetting some things can encourage liars.
Why is the Monero price so high? Because it's targeting the most valuable market in the entire cryptocurrency space, private wealth storage. Look at the Monero Github. Look at the Monero IRC. Both are far more active than any coins other than Bitcoin or Ethereum. Monero deserves to be #3 by market cap, at the very least.

As to what Fluffypony did, it was stupid, but it's pretty much irrelevant at this point. He apologized and said he won't do it again. Given how much he's contributed to Monero, I think the vast majority of the community has forgiven him.

Forgive but never forget, i could bet my left toe on that he made a couple of yearly salaries from longing and shorting. And maybe he deserves that money but deceiving the community was pretty fucked up..  Cool

The Monerolink PDF has been answered by https://getmonero.org/2017/04/19/an-unofficial-response-to-an-empirical-analysis-of-linkability.html

That Monerolink PDF was written in part by Andrew Miller, who is on the official Zcash team (https://z.cash/team.html). That removes any impartiality which, being an academic, he's supposed to have. And, as seen in the link above, the faults they find with Monero can be easily debunked and/or those faults no longer apply since they've been fixed and have been fixed for some time. So, it's just FUD, but do your own research and see for yourself.

Here's a comparison of privacy-centric coins: https://moneroforcash.com/monero-vs-dash-vs-zcash-vs-bitcoinmixers.php
I am a longtime Monero supporter.  I bought within a month or two of the coin's issue in 2014, when Bittrex first listed it.  Monero is my biggest holding, more than any other crypto, and more than my dollar-denominated assets.  I had to get my bona fides out of the way because of what I am about to say.  And I want you to read and consider.
All the back and forth, including refuations posted by Monero people, are 99.9% motivated by partisanship.
Wake up and stop acting like kids in the schoolyard.
I come to this thread to read and communicate with people who understand crypto, and what I see is the same dreary tit-for-tat that infects every debate I'm following, whether it's core vs bitcoin cash, Monero vs Zcash, and all the rest of the small minded wrangling over crypto controversies.
Grow up, people.  There's much more to this than winning the argument.
I want to read something written in a tone of detachment.  A high-handed, superior tone, and the conviction of your own righteousness, counts for nothing with me.
God damn it.

Of course, what did you expect? Peaceful discussions? unbiased conversations? Truth?  I believe progress is made through arguments, dicussion, debates or whatever and being right or wrong is important to progress.

Lmao @ that extremely biased nonsense. Monero users like to twist words and meanings to try and convince people what aspects of privacy are actually important. They will conflate things that would protect users privacy with gimmicks like not having a rich list. The important aspects of privacy fall extremely short for monero. The way the community tries to ignore it is embarrassing.

I'm pretty sure you are a paid troll or unbelievably dumb. Why dont you claim that reward that we had on reddit for tracing XMR transactions? Easy money, right?
