Brilliant I see after almost a year I am a f#*king newbie again

I did some research, and have invested in EOS recently, and will buy some more in the future. It is suppose to become a very important player in the near future. I will wait and see, at the moment it is reasonable to speculate on.

Its not what you want to hear, and I do not know your financial situation but have you considered taking a break from it? Buying cryptos can give you similar feelings to gambling, and this can be bad when you speculate and things go wrong. I feel your pain and sorry to hear of your financial loss. 

I am a massive fan of IOTA, and have been from the start. Is the IOTA Foundation finally doing enough to prove those that doubted or Fud'ed it wrong with Qubic and other recent collaborations and developments? I am interested to know your thoughts on how big Qubic could be if it does include things like smart contracts.

I like IOTA, i think it could be massive given the IoT will be massive in a couple of years. But I believe I am going to need to hang on to it for a while, because I see it as potentially the next step on from blockchain, and this is only just getting into mainstream thinking, so it could be a while until we see the fruition of IOTA . It is massively cheap at the moment!

I agree, I think that an end to a lot of the FUD and bad news that was occurring in Jan was massively counter productive and had a massive impact on things.

I only spend what I can afford to lose (which is'nt much), and do not have my life savings tied up in it, so that makes it easier to hodl. I was reading about a guy who remortgaged his house and took a business loan out in November to buy a lot of crypto, and then saw a few weeks ago he was on the verge of bankruptcy. Its not for me to comment on this guys actions, but that is really bad news for him and his family.

I 100% agree, i think that going on supply and features alone, Deeponion is massively undervalued. Loads of very new features coming over the next few weeks as well! I have also looked at Spectre and Sumo, but for me Deeponion is the one out of these three I have put most of my investment in.

My favourite coin is Deeponion, because it has some really good features as a privacy coin and the community is excellent. I also really like the IoT so have invested in IOTA. They are a way off of being the finish article, and I know there is a lot of people who do not like IOTA for various reasons, but I think it will be massive in 3 years time.

I was really keen on zipper, and joined the airdrop ICO in Feb. Not heard anything since which is a massive shame because I am really keen on the idea. Technically Deeponion is going through airdrops as part of their ICO, and they are excellent!

Fair point about altcoin speculation, and apologies, I am new to bitcointalk.

Thanks to all of you for your views, and the contrasting range of ideas. I have only been involved in crypto for a year and so I haven't that much experience compared to many of you on here. I have taken the advice from previous posts and tried to focus on crypto with sound tech or unique ideas. I decided to focus on Privacy and coins like Spectre/Deeponion and Sumo and blockchain/Tangle linked to the IoT.

I just wondered what people think about how the market will respond over the next few months, and what people would recommend to invest in now, because of its current low price, compared to the end of 2017.

In the UK it is relatively easy, if you have access to Coinbase. I found it awkward to set up accounts to the big exchanges to start with, but after doing it  once it became a lot simpler. I used Bitcoin initially, but found that Eth was better for me personally to trade with FIAT. I have also used Litecoin which was excellent, both were until recently faster than BTC, but this has massively improved. I have also used XRP and found it amazing quick and cheap to use.

I personally found Coinbase fees quite expensive, but I guess everyone has their opinions on this. They have so far been pretty good and meeting my needs.

I was under the impression the problem with the seeds was down to an online generator, which I almost got caught out by, luckily I had set up a separate wallet and completely realised how stupid it was to transfer IOTA into a wallet where someone had set the code for you. Novice knowledge of IOTA wallets by me, but lucky I rapidly corrected this mistake.

But I also get the point that people shouldn't be left to fall into this trap in the first instance if a seed generator was included int he current wallet, and I understand how this may cause negative comments and upset investors in IOTA.

I am a big believer in blockchain and crypto and it's potential to revolutionise many aspects of daily life. But has the FUD, infighting, dramatic increase in the number and volume of pointless currencies, and attempts by large institutions to control the industry, ultimately led to the prolonged bearish market we have seen since December? If this continues, could the next big scandal lead to a catastrophic effect, that could have an irreversible decline?

Hi have been following the markets for a while, and I think it really depends on what you im to achieve. As you know things are very volatile and nothing is nailed on.

I got rid of my xrp, had been in it for a while and personally think that Ripple will replace swift, but don't see xrp doing much. That could e a regret in the future. I think the future lays in the IoT and privacy. So thats where my money is.

IOTA has a lot of FUD surrounding it, but i think it will be great in the future, if it continues to be aseen by large tech companies as a way to make M2M work.

For Privacy, Deeponion is great, and undervalued. Go for something with a smaller market cap, is my advice. Some Privacy are already highly priced.

Hi all

Saw an ICO a little while ago regarding an organisation that intended to use mobile phone platform for blockchain services. A viable mobile platform seems like a no brainer given the popularity of smart phones and the future heading towards blockchain. Has anyone seen this or invested early, and if so what are you thoughts so far?

From what I have seen today, I will be Holding on to it, and decide what to do. I can not believe that listing on Coinbase could make so much of a difference to the price, many seem to overlook the values of the project etc, but I guess when I first got into crypto that was what first drew me in too. I think that XRP is destined at the moment to be pumped only by adding to Coinbase, so when it happens that will be my que to shift it!

Does Deeponion count? if so continuing with free airdrops, still several weeks left and coins distributed based on your holdings. It is difficult to qualify, but at the same time, the project itself is producing an amazing coin and an excellent community. I have recently been involved in this, despite having onions for a long time and I have found it good so far!
