Long time no post!

We have been completely pre-occupied with solving the slow page loading problems on the site. It turns out, after much investigation, and bringing on two great new devs to the team (we are all volunteers) that we had the following problems:

1) Incorrect use of standard datatypes (Varchars) in database tables and MySQL queries,
2) Apache poorly configured,
3) Excessive use of inner joins in our MySQL queries,
4) Many more horrible little bugs.

As soon as the above were fixed 24 hrs ago, page loading speeds reduced by 90% and new claims went through the roof!

OK, one of the recent questions on here was how can you claim?

All you have to do is visit the POWtoken.com site and have a valid Facebook or Twitter account which you use to "claim". The account must have bee created before Sept 15th 2017.

You will be issued POW'lite'. This is essentially and IOU for real POW which exists on the blockchain.

We are building a "bridge" between POWtoken.com and the Ethereum Blockchain which is now hoped to be ready for end of Feb.

Yes we promised it would be ready in Dec 2017! Yes we then promised it would be ready in Jan 2018. We darn hope it will be ready in Feb 2018, but you know what, we are trying our best, so if its not ready, get over it  - you may have heard that sometimes tech projects overrun!

As said above, we are all volunteers, none of us have sold any POW ERC20 for our own benefit (some POW has been paid to cover server costs), but no POW has been used to pay any expenses or salaries for dev team.

The dev team is now 6 strong, with awesome experienced, talented individuals - so we're super excited for 2018.

Yes we are aware of this issue of getting logged out after clicking the button, it happens to very few users and we are working in fixing it.
About translations thank you for the interest, for now we have our focus in developing core functionality, perhaps in the future we'll be making translated versions, if that happens I will give you a heads up!

Yes we double check our codes, this error happens only to a very small portion of users and we're currently fixing it.

POW Token claimed by tweeter will continue with current allocation, we won't restart counting. So yes FB early adopters were the ones to receive the highest amounts of POW available.
Yeah it's more of a catchy phrase of sorts, though we are working in bringing twitter functionality and more ways to receive POW, so it's not that far.

We're sorry you feel that way, as KDLooHoo points out, despite server issues at launch everyone DID get an equal chance, there was no way to get an upper leg here. Think of it as Black Friday, when stores open up their doors there is a massive stampede. Eventually the served stabilized and POW allocation has remained stable. We know we haven't been active in social media in the past, we're now working hard to answer promptly any questions here and in other social media.

We're at full speed working in Tweeter implementation, it should be enabled in the coming weeks. Also we have live a referral program where you can invite your Facebook friends to join and receive a percentage of POW lite as a reward. As for transferring your POW lite to your ethereum wallet you have to wait till December when we will merge it with POW ERC20.

In the meantime we have up and running the new referral system, just invite your friends to join in Facebook and the system will see that you are friends and allocate the equivalent of 1% of your friend's POW to your account.

The POW name was just a snappy name for a currency aimed at mass market adoption. There's some good info on the site about our plans. We'll be introducing the ability to make free transfers within the POWtoken.com site on Oct 10th. As said earlier, we're also building a bridge between Blockchain and POWtoken.com.

The small number of POW ERC20 on offer are from several sources. Bug Bounty is being paid as we speak, the Founders also got issue around 6.5% of total supply between them. 1.5% was issue to Bitzza Limited which is the UK Ltd co that pays for overheads (AWS servers etc..) . There was also some POW paid to Twitter Reterweeters to get the ball rolling.

Correct - No ETH address is required. Your Allocation of POW is held in the POWtoken.com account (centralised database). The great thing is, you can transfer it to other POWtoken.com account holders with zero transaction fees!

We are busy building a "bridge" between the POWtoken.com environment and the Ethereum Blockchain  - but this will take several months.

Tip! Make sure you are logged into your Facebook account BEFORE you come to POWtoken.com on the 3rd, to claim your POW. This will make completing the claim form much quicker, and mean you get a greater allocation (highly time sensitive!).

Also note that there is a Google Catptcha reCaptcha box at the bottom of the form which you need to click. Wait for the green "tick" to appear before you hit the "claim" button, as if not it will ask you reload the page!

In other words - when completing the claim form, be quick, but don't be too quick!

Sorry, that is ambiguous. The correct time is 09:00 PDT on 3rd Oct. That is 21:30 IST on 3rd Oct. Elsewhere in Asia please use google to convert the times and do your own research! :-) The Airdrop is at the same time across the planet.

Airdrop kicks of on 3rd October at 09:00 PDT. You just need to come to the site THEN and click the "Login with facebook" button which will appear at the top of the homepage at 09:00 on the 3rd.

Hi - Apols for confusion. The homepage says
"We are giving POW 'lite' to every Internet user on the planet.
From 9:00 PDT (12:00 EDT, 17:00 BST, 21:30 IST) on 3rd October 2017 come to POWtoken.com & click 'Login with Facebook' to instantly receive your free POW 'lite'."

The key word is "From".

For part of last week we had the "Login with facebook" button live in order to test the claim process and debug it. We added a clause at top of claim form in big letters explaining this, but quite a few people felt the same as you, so we apologise again - the communication could have been better.

So, apols, but nobody has been awarded any Airdrop POW yet. As advertised, the Airdrop kicks off at 09:00 PDT 3rd October.
