I feel uncomfortable if I don’t buy
by

⭐ Merited by LFC_Bitcoin (2)
I started putting 1k into Bitcoin every time it drops by 5k since 60k. And I ran out of funds a little while ago.

The fact that I can’t buy this dip just makes me extremely uncomfortable.

It makes me feel shifty and nervous of the fluctuations. Whereas before I looked forward to it falling so I can just buy.

I guess this is the part where I wait.

Do you worry about not being able to convert BTC to fiat in future
by

⭐ Merited by Welsh (1) ,DdmrDdmr (1)
I'm currently receiving some of my income in BTC, and I'm just holding it because I expect it will go up long term and so it is my savings.
But sometimes I'd like to be able to turn it into fiat for daily expenses. I can't yet pay my rent or buy my groceries with BTC (hopefully one day! but not today and not in the near future).
With banks in some countries blocking transactions from known exchanges is there a worry that one day it will become impractical to turn the BTC into fiat? Either just very hard to do, maybe street-corner-deals or at risk of getting your bank accounts frozen?
Do people think about this and have plans to work around these kinds of banking barriers? Or are there ways around it already but I'm not aware?

With Bitcoin Clarity, El Salvador Allows Strike To Abandon USDT
by

on 23/06/2021, 07:46:57 UTC
When El Salvador passed a law making bitcoin legal tender in the country, it did not just set itself on a path to add the payment option to existing infrastructure. It provided regulatory clarity that allowed an existing Bitcoin-forward platform to better serve its citizens.
Thanks to the regulation, Strike, the Lightning Network-focused startup helping El Salvador build its national bitcoin-based payments system, will no longer need to substitute U.S. dollars with Tether’s USDT stablecoin.

Re: Why are we all waiting for a certain price to sell Bitcoin?
by
Paisleyvn

From an investment perspective, I'm hodl'ing mine for the future; other than that, I hope the decentralized currency model become the norm - and if it does, i'm pretty sure btc will lead the way. I am waiting more for it to rise as at the very least, equal to dollars or gold. At that point, there is no point in thinking about when to sell. You can just maximize it for the rest of your life.

Re: Why do people invest in cryptocurrencies despite it being so volatile?
by
Paisleyvn
on 22/06/2021, 06:12:27 UTC
Entering crypto itself is a risk, and as you stay inside the market, everything gets riskier and riskier. The volatility of the market can't be controlled but you have the power to choose whichever coin you invest into. If you look deeper, there are plenty of coins worth risking for. I just look at volatility as more low buying opportunities. Volatility is an entirely different thing than rate of return. Btc has a very high historical rate of return. As long as you can stomach swings and have a long time horizon, it's not really an issue. This is all from a financial prospective. I also invest because I fundamentally believe in crypto, and believe it could lead to a better future for humanit

Re: No One Can Shut Down Bitcoin
by

True in theory, but regulatory bodies and governments can severely limit access to and redemption of Bitcoin for goods and services. While the network will always be usable through an internet connection, and Bitcoin will always have value, there is a question of what happens if the use and custody of BTC is heavily regulated or straight outlawed due to Governmental fear of losing their monopoly on the money supply. Sure at a fundamental level, governments and regulatory bodies cannot control who or what you send your bitcoins to, and from where you might receive them. However, it can be made extremely difficult logistically to spend your Bitcoin on goods and services which is ultimately what you will hve to spend it on if you’re going to live off of it.

Re: Why do many people who do not understand Bitcoin slander Bitcoin?
by
Paisleyvn
on 16/06/2021, 02:58:03 UTC
Most detractors and critics of Bitcoin do not understand the history of Bitcoin. They believe that fiat currency is the only right way. Most of these people lose money because of Bitcoin, they lack knowledge of Bitcoin, and they have no basic self-judgment on investment. People will not earn money beyond their own knowledge. If you want to invest in Bitcoin, you must have certain market knowledge and self-worth judgment.

Re: What effect does a growing number of altcoins have on Bitcoin
by
Paisleyvn
on 15/06/2021, 06:26:57 UTC
Whether it affects Bitcoin or replaces Bitcoin depends on the development of altcoins. Because altcoins are now vulnerable to 51% attacks, and Bitcoin has accumulated a lot of computing power in the early stages of development, the current situation is that the cost of 51% attacks is huge.

How do you think El Salvador has become the first country to use Bitcoin
by
Paisleyvn
on 10/06/2021, 09:46:10 UTC
El Salvador passed legislation with an absolute majority of 62/84 on the 8th, becoming the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as its legal tender. El Salvador’s President Bukler praised the role of Bitcoin, saying that it may help Salvadorans living abroad to remit money back to their country. Bukler added that the use of Bitcoin is optional and does not pose risks to users. The bill will become law within 90 days, "making history."

Re: Bitcoin should be taxed

Each country’s policy will be different. If Bitcoin is legal in that country, it can be taxed as government support and guarantee the legality of doing business on Bitcoin. The government recognizes the legalization of Bitcoin, and I think it would be fairer to tax Bitcoin.

Re: Is Bitcoin antifragile?

Bitcoin is more durable than risk because it is an anti-fragile system. No competitor can magically surpass it; no government can shut it down. But it doesn't stop there; every attack vector and impact on the system actually causes Bitcoin to become stronger.

Their endings are different. When Bitcoin fell, it did not have any rescue plan, it was self-regulating through the market, and it continued to recover and set new highs.

Re: Why doesn't bitcoin go up higher percentages like altcoins?
by
Paisleyvn
on 25/05/2021, 02:51:50 UTC
Bitcoin has a high market value, while other altcoins have a low value. A few percent increase in Bitcoin requires huge amounts of hundreds of millions of dollars or billions of dollars. But for altcoins, just a few million dollars or tens of millions of dollars makes altcoins grow by a few percent.

Bitcoin will continue to exist. The cryptocurrency market is developing rapidly, and now more and more people know and join it. Although the government does not block Bitcoin, because it is the fastest and safest anonymous transaction, many people still invest in Bitcoin.

Re: Anybody else feel relieved this dip finally happened?

Bitcoin does Bitcoin things
Either you think it will be worth $100-500k+ one day in future, or you don't: I stopped worrying about price movement years ago, and I'm much happier for it.
I think BTC has a reasonable chance of going to $200-300k in the next few years, so I buy when I have spare cash I can afford to lose, and then I wait and see what happens. Either I lose a bunch of money I can afford to lose or I get a lot more money... anything that happens in the meantime is just noise

Re: I can hear a rain like sound coming from my bedroom window, but it's not raining

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Woke up at 2am and could hear rain/hail against one specific window, but it was completely clear outside.
The inner pane of the sealed unit had cracked from some sort of stress, and the sound was the broken pane splintering and cracking under its own weight. Check weather you have a hard-to-spot crack in the glass near the window-frame?
