Block is 'officially constructing an open bitcoin mining system.'
by

on 14/01/2022, 11:50:27 UTC
This is fantastic news! Block is developing an open bitcoin mining infrastructure to make it simpler for anybody to engage in bitcoin mining. This is a significant step toward making bitcoin more accessible, and it may help to further decentralize the bitcoin network. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out!

"It's all about Ethereum in 2022," says the head of Ey's Blockchain Unit.

According to a recent analysis by John Brody, Ethereum will be the first large winner in 2022. According to Brody, "decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) symbolise the future of how communities, missions, and enterprises are converging in a unified framework." DAOs will become the standard platform for creating new entities. Another factor will be DeFi and its integration into mainstream finance.

Hello everyone,

I bought some Ethereum on Coinbase. Should I stack Ethereum? Is it worth it when you don't have much?

I want to do it, but I'm hesitant...

Nasa exploring Gold in an asteroid

NASA Is Set To Explore A Massive Gold/Metal Asteroid Called 'Psyche' That Is Significantly More Valuable Than Our Global Economy - And Bitcoin's Supply Is Still Limited to 21 Million

Quote
NASA plans to launch the same-named mission in August 2022 to investigate a 140-mile-wide asteroid known as '16 Psyche,' which is supposed to represent the exposed metallic iron, nickel, and gold core of a protoplanet. The asteroid is three times further away from the Sun than the Earth and orbits the Sun every five years. An orbiter from NASA's mission will survey and investigate the asteroid's features from 435 miles/700 kilometers above its surface for at least 21 months.

In my opinion, These billions of dollars for mineral and metal content are ridiculous. Prices are established according to supply and demand. Rare earth metals are valued the way they are because of the available supply; if we suddenly quintuple the supply, the price would drop tremendously, and the true value will be just a few billion dollars.

I'd like to know what do you think?

Re: Traditional System & Crypto Exchange

Why not share the source of that quoted message? It's better if we know who said that so we'll have an idea if he's talking about something we haven't heard yet.

I find what he said funny since the traditional system is supposedly more regulated compared to crypto exchanges but he claims wash trading still happens there.

I found this question somewhere random on the internet. But was curious about his question. So, I thought maybe you guys can shed a light on it.

Traditional System & Crypto Exchange

Everyone has to recognize that a small group of users on exchanges, representing a small percentage of circulating BTC, are basically choosing what bitcoin is worth while conducting wash trades.
What makes this better than the previous system?

This question intrigued me a lot? Would you mind offering your opinion on this?

New money being printed
by

The Fed generates an infinite supply of dollars and purchases an infinite number of government bonds...news reports that capped supply of bitcoin is a hoax.

The prevailing narrative of dread is ludicrous. I suppose "tapering" from enormous quantities of new money to massive, tremendous amounts of new money should be detrimental to bitcoin. Fear fuels the clown world.

BTC held by companies - Then vs Now
by

on 01/01/2022, 08:50:40 UTC
According to the Bitcoin Treasuries List, 59 companies and a handful of countries have 1.49 million bitcoins (BTC).

On March 1, 2021, 42 organizations had bitcoin on their balance sheets, representing a total of 1,350,073 bitcoin. This was the result of 304 days, or nearly nine months, of work. Statistics show that there are 59 corporations, many nations, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) with a total of 1,499,493 bitcoin kept in treasuries, according to the data.

Is it right or am I missing something else?

A lot of my doubts concerning the long-term viability of Bitcoin were answered by your response, which was particularly helpful in the event of a government ban.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question. I appreciate your time and consideration.

What should you do if your country bans Bitcoin and you want to keep it safe?

Isn't it possible to safely keep your Bitcoin in a cold wallet and then safely access it on the blockchain in a third nation where it's legal in the event that other countries, such as China and Egypt, try
to outlaw the cryptocurrency? Is it possible that something as simple as a cold wallet is insufficient protection?

Bitcoin is the future - El Savador
by
Patrick2t2
on 27/12/2021, 10:26:32 UTC
'The dollar is no longer relevant; Bitcoin is the currency of the future,' argues President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador.

In a recent interview with the BBC, El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele declared that Bitcoin represents the "real revolution" taking place in our world right now, and that the days of "fiat currency" are drawing to a close. Then he went on to say that El Salvador was the spark that ignited the actual revolution. With the adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender in September, El Salvador became the world's first country to do so.

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the matter. What types of changes do you expect to take place?

In 2021, the Bitcoin network will have handled more transactions than PayPal
by
Patrick2t2
on 25/11/2021, 09:16:39 UTC
Quote
According to recent statistics provided by Blockdata B.V., the Bitcoin network is expected to process an anticipated average of $489 billion every quarter in 2021, while the PayPal network is expected to process $302 billion. Additionally, the achievement highlights how outstanding the Bitcoin network has been, with an uptime of 99.98 percent since its inception on the internet. With Bitcoin's average quarterly volume approaching that of PayPal, it is just a matter of time before it becomes the dominant cryptocurrency.

That is, in my opinion, impossible to determine. You have no idea which address is a change address, and you have no idea what the objective of a Bitcoin transaction is. Furthermore, no one can count the volume and number of transactions across the Lightning Network.

In your opinion, what do you think about this?

Government-issued cryptocurrencies will never be able to completely replace BTC
by
Patrick2t2
on 23/11/2021, 09:41:59 UTC
⭐ Merited by kryptqnick (1)
Some may fear that a government-issued cryptocurrency would eventually supplant Bitcoin. This is absurd. It merely substitutes a blockchain for the wire transfer of a fiat currency. It precludes a really free exchange of value between any two random locations on the planet without the intervention of a third party. A government-issued cryptocurrency will inherit all of the fiat currency's flaws. It will squander energy as a result of perpetual inflation and regulation.

POW is superior than POS over the long term
by
Patrick2t2
on 22/11/2021, 10:28:57 UTC
I frequently hear people like Saylor lament how POS is a joke in contrast to POW, particularly in the long run. I understand the foundations of both systems, but could someone please explain why POW is vastly superior and POS is doomed to fail?

Why?

Because POS looks to be the neighborhood's newest hipster.
