I have an Apollo 2 standard version linked to my MCU2 Apollo full node. Full node trucks away at around 3TH and has alway worked fine. I am not getting a single hash out of the Apollo 2 even though software is updated and I have flashed the Apollo 1 card numerous times now. Oddly the Apollo 1 seems to be recognizing the 2 and certain stats like temp, etc. No hashes on the UI or at the pool end either.

I have tried everything, BTC Merch and FutureBit support, no luck. I even tried returning it and they want me to have a conference call with the CEO of BTC Merch to do so, I mean come on.

Anyone have a similar issue?

yes

ssh into Apollo and run this:
sudo screen -ls
there should be two screen sessions running?
then re-attach to the screen sessions
sudo screen -r <title or number>
ctrl AD to exit
and see what messages are been echoed?

Apollo BTC. I had the wrong MCU version flashed. So I reflashed it, and let the node catch up to the current block and hit start miner. Its been churning for 3 days with the message - 'waiting for the current miner status to match the desired one (online)'
This doesn't seem to be working itself out.
Do I need to reformat the SSD and start from scratch? Or should I be able to re-flash the correct MCU image and get this working again.

Thanks!

If your unit us Apollo BTC try to flash it back to MCU2 since according to futurebit support you can download either MCU1 or MCU2 so it means the MCU2 is supported on Apollo BTC and Apollo II is not compatible with MCU1.  Try to reflash it again and test it with MCU2 image.

did that already. I'm wondering if there's something I need to dump in the drive, for it to rebuild and connect. just churning, and I hate to have to start from scratch.

Can you ssh into Apollo and run
sudo screen -ls

and see if there are two screen sessions running

Is there a way to turn off the mining aspect on an original Apollo btc miner and just use it as a node?

Yes, you can stop the miner in the GUI and the node will continue to run
GUI options:
1 on the miner screen at the top hit stop miner
2 hit the power button top right and select stop miner

SSH options:
  1 sudo systemctl stop apollo-miner.service
2 If you want to make it permanent after stopping the service sudo systemctl disable apollo-miner.service

hello all sos plz!

can anyone have be some guidance currently running the apollo II solo mining on v2.0.5 I am getting this ( [GraphQL error]: Message: Int cannot represent non 32-bit signed integer value: 2179756302 ) flickering on/off the node is on but the solo mine stays off as i intend to turn it on.

[GraphQL error] is a known bug and will be fixed in the next release which is due very soon! It is a GUI bug and does not effect the operation of the Apollo

There is a max connections setting, on the node. What would be the recommendations for setting this?

I think the default is 30 which is a nice number

Hello, we already tried that image that you highlighted in this last message, but it is the same one that we tried the first time. The 1.93 GB MCU2 version. And it does the same...

And the version of etcher is v1.18.11
The same one that happened to us
The failure is very rare... and after several tests it remains the same...

Try a different monitor or find the IP address of your unit and SSH into it to see what is going on

Hello all,
I just plugged in for the first time my Apollo II, and when I log into the web interface, it asks me to input a password in order to sign in.
Do you know if there is a standard admin password for initial set-up?
Thx!

Read message 1 the setup guide?
Once it reaches the login screen, type in "futurebit123" as the password.

Would there have been a way to recover the database through a --reindex command line?  If so what would that have been?

The reindex option is coming in a future update

I would reformat the drive and start a fresh system

Of course... the start that we are referring to is that it does not start the device. That is, it doesn't show anything on the screen, but if it turns on, the refrigerator can be heard and the network LED blinks.

If you are using the HDMI out of the the Apollo a black screen does not mean it isn't working
It is more reliable to SSH in using another computer http://futurebit.local might work or find the IP address from your router are just some of the options

We have bought an Apollo II, we are in Argentina and we still couldn't get it to start, we have flashed memories but it's still the same, can anyone help us?
We have support but we didn't hit the right button either.
The idea is to buy others but we need this equipment to work correctly.

What is the light on the front panel doing? Red flashing, Red Solid .....
What is the Apollo II displaying at http://<IP OF APOLLO II>
can you ssh into the Apollo II?

Added the user to the dialout group? <-- what the heck is a dialout group?
Yes, Standard unit is connected via usb

The dailout group is the group that is allowed to access the USB ports it comes from the old days of modems I guess
Have you restarted the machine since adding your user to the group?

In htop do you have a line starting with
./fututrebit-miner -comport=/dev/tty......

and maybe if you are logged in as root
screen -r
may give you more information?

Node is working but hashboard is not. I have a standard unit connected to the node, and that IS working.
Any steps I can take to get the hashboard in the node to work?
Thanks!

Have you added the user that is running the miner software to the dailout group? I assume the standard unit is connected by USB?

Has this update been released my Apollo hasn't seen any communication from Houston
and looks sad with error on the miner screen

From this monday i got an error every 24h

[GraphQL error]: Message: Int cannot represent non 32-bit signed integer value: 2262360428

This is a known issue, update to fix is a little late but will def be out next week.

FYI it's just a front end bug and does not affect the miner or node operation.

1 Your cable would be the determining factor, you can use either
2 USB controller limitation is 7
3 Your extra unit could be a standard with no computer

3 questions

1) I'd like to connect a second unit to my V1 node using a USB hub. Do I use the USB-C on the side or the USB-A on the back?

2) Is there a limit to the number of units I can connect to a V1?

3) Whats the spec difference of the V1+2, because the V1 is running a on a pi - is the v2 also running on a pi?

Thanks!

Does anyone know the steps for generating a Bolt12 offer on the Apollo II full node, is it possible to do so?

you need a CLN node for that functionality which Apollo doesn't have as standard.
It might be added in the future?
Also your CLN needs a funded channel that has incoming and outgoing funds otherwise you won't get paid
You can easily setup a CLN node on a Pi 5 with Raspiblitz for example

It has been 7 days since I got my Apollo 2 and the node is still not synced.

I have gigabit internet connection
using ethernet cable as connection
port forwarding for 8333 and 3333
ip reserved in my router
mining on ckpool on Medium settings

How long does it take for the Node to sync? How can I check how much of the blockchain has been downloaded?

https://ibb.co/0KrVmQw
Apollo Web OS v2.0.5

Maybe enable TOR mode as a test to see if it starts to sync. Then you will know you have a network issue

Re: Avalon Nano 3 [unofficial thread]

on 19/08/2024, 04:05:48 UTC
A little help with the Nano 3 please.

All hooked up and connected to my Wifi

Setup my pool etc

Display keeps showing the Please Check Internet symbol, but all is good with my system and the Nano 3 appears on my network, etc.

I cannot get it to mine on any pool.

Mining Status is Fine / Green circle but Network status is 0 ms and red circle, says no active pool or workers.

I can control the miner from the GUI and a IOS app so it is clearly connected.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem with Starlink. A quck fix is to run through a VPN

I've got the Apollo 2 Standard unit hooked up to an Ubuntu 24.04 LTS machine. I have the GitHub repo cloned, and I run:

Code:
./apollo-miner-v2 -host us-east.stratum.braiins.com -port 3333 -user myusername -pswd anything123 -comport /dev/ttyACM0 -powermode eco -ao_mode 1

from within
Code:
Apollo-Miner-Binaries/Apollo II/linux-x86_64
.

The program starts fine, but I get stuck waiting for the device:

Code:
>>> Waiting for USB /dev/ttyACM0 [43] !!!
>>> Waiting for USB /dev/ttyACM0 [44] !!!

I verified that it's the right device:

Code:
$ ls -al /dev/tty*

crw-rw---- 1 root dialout 166,  0 Jun 11 01:53 /dev/ttyACM0

you should have added your user to the dailout group
I have the unit plugged in, turned on, and connected via USB. I can hear the fans spinning, and the status LED is white on the front.

Any ideas what I might be missing?

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: I added permissions and changed owners of the device and now it seems to be working! For example:
Code:
$ sudo chmod +rwx /dev/ttyACM0
$ sudo chown myuser /dev/ttyACM0

My Apollo has upgraded three times and gets stuck after the reboot but the version stays at 2.0.4
https://pasteboard.co/QEuZz6WuZOWA.png
and then it displays the image above i.e. goes back to 0% when I reload the UI it still displays the old version number
The package.json updated today also has the old version number?

Okay fixed that minor hiccup the update process didn't like my VPN gateway
So v2.0.5 installed fine but I still have an orange power button?

Orange power button has gone now after getting a new upgrade message with detailed instructions
