I think a lot of ICOs are built on hype and as majority dont have a working product either that just leads to people dumping when possible as theres no real adoption without a product and people get impatient for easy profits. But one quality you can have regardless to ensure a successful ico which doesnt fail is by having a product with real use case and can absolutely change the economy and lives of people around the world- much like Tokoin who are helping MSMEs expand business and funding opportunities advancing the growth of 3rd world countries, those types of projects will never fail IMO
 

This is true but also there were a lot of noobs just throwing themselves into the mix when the last bullrun was in effect which made it a huge target for fraudsters. i think now since the market sentiment is stronger than ever people have had time to evolve smarter from the bear market and i personally still see ICOs/ tokensales being effective, obviously IEOs are taking over now but there are still some solid projects doing ICO's plus IEOS due to huge demand id say. Just like Tokoin.io, this has been in huge demand and of my favorite projects aiding MSMEs to achieve optimized business ventures through data leveraging- such a great idea with minimal competitors,  great market (huge), partnerships and great timing.

IEO has proven to be the most profitable base price comparing to private sale prices ive seen recently, which is why i hope to be lucky enough when Tokoin.io announce their upcoming IEO to get in. I could name a fair few projects with real use cases but one that caught my attention lately is Tokoin, which undoubtedly is doing amazing things for Indonesian businesses. As my families background is Indonesian and i visit there regularly, i see clearly a lot of businesses struggle with finance to start up and maintain steady work flow.
What Tokoin is doing is bringing a data leveraging platform allowing businesses (MSMEs) to advance using a credit scoring protocol,  transaction data is submitted into the  Tokoin dApp and processed into a valuable asset which can be aquired by partners by staking TOKO tokens. From what ive seen, a lot of small businesses are utilizing the platform and i can see it being heavily adopted in the coming future.
