First, those look a lot like the digibyte logo, second, the digibyte logo is terrible, third.. well you get where I'm going with this

No problem, it was just a suggestion and nothing more. Thanks for your feedback Smiley

Please stop this nonsense! Here is why https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.0

Uhm... both currencies start with D, thats right. So should we rename this coin or just put the letter 'A' on the logo even when it has nothing to do with 'A' just to maintain 100% differency from the DigiCoin?
I can't see the risk of confusion in my coin design sorry.

Darkcoin already has great logo.

It's okay, but it dosen work as alogo its a virtual coin picture at the moment. For example go to http://coinmarketcap.com/ and compare the BTC and the DRK logo? While the DRK is a blurry mess because of the size, the BTC logo is still perfectly noticeable.

I have thought about a logo design too.

This is just an example of the D style and ring proportions, so no fix on coloring.

What was important for me, is the fact that it needs to be scaleable so that when you need a very small icon (e.g. windows taskbar icon or exchange sites) it should stay readable and recognizable.

512x512, 64x64 and 32x32 resolution

Hey, I just started my Miner and getting 1.7mh/s from my GPU, but it dosen't commit any shares.
This is what the log looks like.

Code:
[21:02:36] Probing for an alive pool
[21:02:36] No servers were found that could be used to get work from.
[21:02:36] Please check the details from the list below of the servers you have
input
[21:02:36] Most likely you have input the wrong URL, forgotten to add a port, or
 have not set up workers
[21:02:36] Pool: 0  URL: stratum+tcp://m.drk.yobapool.net:3333  User: xxxxx
.w1  Password: xxxxx
[21:02:36] Press any key to exit, or sgminer will try again in 15s.
[21:02:36] (null) difficulty changed to 0.003906
[21:02:46] Waiting for work to be available from pools.
[21:02:51] Network diff set to 225
[21:02:51] Work available from pools, resuming.

I detects when there are new block, but it dosen't seem to do anything.
Can somebody tell me whats wrong here?

Nevermind. The SPH-sgminer version is working for me

Das Prinzip was Threema verfolgt is schon ziemlich gut.

I have some concerns about this.

First if this is intedendet to be the official DRK logo: A Logo should always be highly stylized. The more stylised the logo is the more can it be used on all scenarios.
What we got here is a artificial Photo of a coin. It has a texture, lens flare and shadowing on it.
Therefore it is not stylized and will cause problems.

First problem is that it cant be vectorized. This means you will loose detail on small scales as of small "DRK accepted here"-Buttons and will lead in less recognizability. In the need of a big scale the coin gets coarse, because the source texture will lack in detail.
Second problem is you cant use it for any material layer. For example making a real coin out of it. What you basically do is putting a metal texture image on a metal textured real coin. This will result in an ugly coin.
The same goes for the lens flare on the top of the 'D' and all kinds of shadowing in the image.

Dont get me wrong, the Coin is looking cool in the image, you did a good job there. But its hardly usable as a logo or as raw data for further production.

My second concern is the "stabilizer" (I dont know what they are called, but often they are described as making the currency logo "more stable" looking e.g. $€BTC) on the D. It goes down. Down. Why down? Is the implication of this that the currency is going down soon? Better make that thing going up Wink
