Thanks for removing litecoin. About time. I didn't want to promote or use your site in the past, but now I will!

Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts

Please quote prices for 1 mBTC, not 1 BTC.

At the time of writing:

Bitstamp: $1.018
Mtgox: $1.182
BTC-E: $0.931

1 mBTC is a much more easier unit to understand. 1 BTC is just too big!

It's not something I'm super confident about and of course I don't want to scare users, but yes I already decided that there will be switch to mBTC as default on bitcoinity (with option in preferences to switch back to BTC). It should happen pretty soon.

Amazing!! Thanks  Smiley

Please quote prices in mBTC, not BTC. BTC is a thing of the past, we need to adopt mBTC. BitcoinAverage.com is very influential, please be the leader!

At the moment of writing:

Mtgox $1.092
Bitstamp $0.978
BTC-e $0.898

This should be by default, as bitcoin newbies would be unlikely to change the default.

You can't hoard and spend, it's pretty much either or!

You can hoard bitcoin and spend bitcoin at the same time.

Fiat -> bitcoin -> hoard BTC.
Fiat -> bitcoin -> spend BTC.

Each time you want to spend bitcoin, just buy BTC with fiat and then spend BTC. Your BTC savings account does not decrease!

Expect all your litecoin wealth to be destroyed, because this trend will continue down to 0.

Very good arguments here:

Re: Why there is no growth
by

However, when economy eventually improved and loaning become active again, V will rise back to a normal level of 5, that will cause a 500% rise in price level if GDP keeps growing at a couple of percent per year, that will effectively crash the fiat money system

In such a case, central bank must quickly reduce the M accordingly. However, the way to reduce M is to sell their assets to commercial banks to get base money back, those assets include government bonds and mortgage backed securities, and a large sell of those assets will crash the market immediately and destroy many people's house value, drive economy back into recession

Moreover, if central banks were to unwind the QE, they would be selling assets at a loss. Maybe that's not a problem for the central banks, but it would further transfer wealth in society from people to big banks.

Re: Bitcoin - It's not a bubble, it's a boom

Proof of this is the very minor (in bitcoin terms) correction from $205 to $160. We have seen bubbles and when they pop it's much more than -30%.

Sorry for your loss. MtGox is a trap at the moment. Next time google some, read some bitcointalk.org and reddit.

I think swapping bitcoin for litecoin may result in nice speculative gains short term (over the next few months).  I traded a small amount of bitcoin for litecoin and peercoin today.

Enjoy your altcoins, thanks for your bitcoins Smiley

Why would you buy litecoin? It doesn't have the utility that bitcoin does. It's constantly losing value.

Difficulty goes down, network finds a new equilibrium. More importantly, miners will not stop mining, because electricity costs are only a small part of their incomes now.

Litecoin does not offer anything that bitcoin doesn't offer.

It is still very expensive. It should go to $0.50.

I think bitcoin has a future and litecoin has none. If litecoin has no future, then you are losing money by holding litecoin and not bitcoin.
