Hello there!
1. I first heard of cryptocurrencies in 2013, the year dogecoin was created. In 2014 or 2015, a friend of my friends had around 0.1 BTC in crypto - yet he sold it even before the 2017 hype IIRC.
2. I did not know anything about crypto back in the day, except that they were virtual money that had actual value, and that they could've been generated on a computer.
3. The same way this term is used on regular stock markets.
4. Well, crypto is money, and in this field, there are just the same kinds of people as in any financial field. There are honest entrepreneurs and scammers, angel investors and loan sharks, short-term investors and actual Whales of Silicon Valley (a reference to the Wolf of Wall Street if you haven't seen this movie for some reason). And just like in any financial field, a ton of people who don't understand what crypto is, and what it isn't.
5. Generally positive. The positive sides of this community and cryptocurrencies in general outweigh the negatives. I'm too lazy to elaborate about this point.
6. Long confirmation time and high transaction fees for some currencies. That's all.
7. 1 bitcoin = 1.000.000$
8. I haven't noticed any hierarchy in the crypto community. I think that in the end, it all boils down to who produces the most value. Curiously, most value in the crypto community came from people who never originally pursued large profits, like the owners of the first mining pools and Satoshi Nakamoto himself. Their contributions have changed the world and now they reap huge rewards for being the pioneers of this new technology.
9. I'm here for monetary reasons, but I will definitely make some friends along my way.
10. I've made 3x on crypto during the 2021 hype and ate them all away.
