Some of the statements in your post makes it sound like you work there. Maybe they are quotes that you pasted in. In any case I hope someone who does work there reads some of the critical comments in this thread, so that hopefully they can improve.

I use both Quad and Kraken. Things do seem to work smoother at Quad, but things have been getting better at Kraken with recent updates, which are still on-going. And a lot of the problems are a result of the recent influx of new sign-ups( which maybe Quad has less of, making it less apt to get bogged down ). Apart from the slow-downs from overloads etc. I would say that technically, in terms of trading options, security features, and other functionality, that Kraken is a better site/organization. Much better than Virtex, which I was a member of since its start.

And there is one BIG problem with Quad that Kraken is much much better with: Customer support.

Consider this comment from a few posts back. I have heard this from others and have experienced it, to a certain extent, myself:


Kraken, in my dealings with them, has always been professional, responsive and courteous. They seem a lot more aware of how frustrating it can be for users when it comes to problems involving their money. The support staff at Quad seems just the opposite. Words like "childish" are what came to my mind as well.

I will continue to be a member of Quad but I find myself using Kraken more often if for no other reason than the peace of mind of knowing that if something does go wrong it will be taken care of as quickly and professionally as possible.

I do have criticisms and concerns about Kraken as well but this is a Quadriga thread so this isn't the place for that. I find that I can express those criticisms to Kraken directly without the fear of a petulant vindictive response.

First I sent you what I thought was the relevant part of armorylog and then sent you the full logs twice...

I just went ahead and dumped the private keys and imported them in electrum in order to send the btc I wanted to.

Does armory no longer work on a win 7 machine with 9 GB of ram?

Under the help menu I chose the 'Rescan Balance' option to see if that would help
and when I restart armorydb crashes when it gets to Rescanning Transaction History...
I tried reboots; reinstalling the program... Armorydb crashes every time at that point...

/edit: I even tried running armorydb manually with these switches: --db-type=DB_BARE --ram-usage=1 --thread-count=1
crashes every time...

Even though it said rpc disabled I tried another send just to see what would happen.
Clicked on preview: nothing
Clicked on send: armorydb crashed

I re-installed 96.1.

After starting up bitcoin core I start armory and it starts up quickly (I don't see armorydb... it runs in the background now? )

In the bottom right it shows as connected and with the proper block count, but the color is purple and saying "RPC disabled!".

I have this in my bitcoin.conf file: server=1
and it is in the 'Bitcoin Home Dir' pointed to in Armory's settings.

I tried that as I said in my first post.

On Windows 7 with Bitcoin Core 14.2 already running before starting Armory.
Everything is synced and seemingly running normally.

I open up the send dialog and fill in all the information.
When I hit "Preview Transaction"... nothing
When I hit "Send!"... nothing

Everytime I try a send this section is added to 'armorylog.txt':

I tried installing 0.96.1 but the same thing. I went back to 0.96 because with 0.96.1 I had to manually start ArmoryDB.exe before starting ArmoryQt.exe and that got really annoying... and after a few restarts and reboots ArmoryDB.exe started crashing everytime I tried running it.

bitcoin.conf contains these lines:

Update: I have now received the Lumens for the Ripple I have. 1 Lumen for each 10 XRP.
So if you are claiming in the Ripple-Lumen Program you will perhaps have to wait a few days before you see your Stellar balance increase.

Anyone tried to claim Lumens for Ripple?

I followed this procedure to claim Lumens for my XRP:

• Authenticate with Facebook.
• Enter your Stellar public key or generate a new one.
• Send a small amount of XRP (even 1 drop is OK) to the provided Ripple address with a displayed destination tag. Please note that we will not be able to send your XRP back!
• After receiving a payment to the provided Ripple address, lumens will be sent to your Stellar account.

I got confirmations that the 0.000001 XRP* I sent from each Ripple address went to the supplied Destination Address. I remembered to add the DT (Destination Tag).

I am still waiting to see any Lumens show up in my Stellar balance.
How long is it expected to take with Ripple claims? I noticed that the Bitcoin claims were instantaneous.

Yup, like when the gov didn't like people using drugs and they started a war on drugs and now nobody can get or use drugs anymore.   

Guess what, they don't like people using bitcoin and encryption either. Do you think they will be any more successful at stopping it? 
They are perhaps just smart enough to know they shouldn't even try as it will just make people more aware of the gov's powerlessness

Oh damn!  I looked at the shortcut for my original installation of Bitcoin Core and I see that I have pointed it to yet another chain (my C: drive was getting full ).
When I point armory there everything works with that installation now as well...
