Re: What if our entire life savings suddenly became worthless.
by

Actually saving is not enough if you have the ability. If someone has the ability to diversify into more different assets, then it is a good idea for him. Diversification can be done by proper financial management, as you said, land, gold, bitcoin, etc. We know that if you buy land, its value increases over time, that is, buying land later becomes a good asset.

Saving can't make you rich but it can help you to have money when you're in need of it. Depending on your savings isn't right, you need to have investments that are making you profits and also need a paying job that you'll be using the salary you earn from that job to take care of yourself. Saving in banks are bad decisions, banks can't make you money but if you have millions of Naira then you can invest with the banks and not saving with them.

Banks have investment plans that you can be receiving returns on your money and the more money you have with them, the higher the return. This is a less risky investment plan but you'll need to have other jobs to assist you so you can compound your investments and make higher profits. The power of compounding can make you good returns and they're less risky than trusting new companies to buy their stocks.

Re: Is education really important anymore for the Nigerians?
by
Preciousbae
on 28/08/2025, 20:31:17 UTC
Education is still very important to people who value it, and it is only those who value it that are still pursuing it.
It isn't compulsory that everyone must go to school, some persons were not meant to go to school thats why we have handwork and business.

No don't say that, don't say some people weren't meant to go to school because you're making it sound like being educated is meant for some type of people while others are supposed to be Illiterate. You can be business orientated or focused on getting a handwork that you'll use to take care of yourself but don't say you won't go to school. School isn't what'll give you a good source of income, schools are for making you to be educated because there's a difference between a graduate and someone that didn't go to school.

Education is still important for Nigerian but it's no longer what's going to give you a source of living because the workforce is now concentrated with lots of graduates. We can combine going to school and learning a handwork, it's not necessary to learn one and forget about the other. You're giving yourself an edge when you have both education and a good skill. Education makes you to be more exposed to life and this give you more opportunities.

Re: ROLE OF INFLUENCERS ON CRYPTOCURRENCY (BITCOIN)
by
Preciousbae
on 28/08/2025, 20:16:17 UTC
I don't consider following crypto influencers necessary because crypto influencers only care about themselves and how they will generate money with their social media accounts, and sometimes they can even deceive their audience by shilling a fake project to them so that they could earn money, and when their audience invests in the project and they lose their money, they will come up with a cock and bull story that they didn't know the project was a fake project.

Not all cryptocurrency influencers are like this. Most of them are but we still have few ones that are doing the influencing job because they want to help out newbies in need. Without following influencers, I won't have had known some of the things that I do now know. It's easy to spot the fake ones because they're always promoting one cryptocurrency or another new coins that it's a fake cryptocurrency being hyped. Fake projects and fake influencers are all over the industry and if newbies like myself although I won't call myself a total newbie because I have been involved in the market for some time but took some breaks because of martial reasons. It's our duty to spot the fake ones and not allow them to make use of us to get rich quick. Follow the influencers with sense and only take the things that'll be important for your growth and forget about any other things they're saying.

Re: How can we promote sustainable living in our communities?

Although people wey dey work to ensure say our environment dey clean dey but make we also put hands to also help them, because if everywhere clean and dey conducive for everyone to stay, na for the good of everybody too.
Advice are welcome.

This is how we can promote a clean environment for us to reside in, it's not the responsibility of the government to do this for us. We're supposed to be practicing sanitation regularly and make it a common practice in our environment to keep the streets, gutter clean and after we have made this our duty, others will have no choice but to follow us in keeping the environment clean.

Our dirty environments is only affecting us and not others. For that reason, it's our responsibility to not throw away waterproofs or any waste on the streets and gutters. As you see someone doing this, correct them that instant and it'll send a strong message both to the users and other bystanders. The environment is ours to maintain and we shouldn't expect the authorities to do that for us.

Your title is misleading- if few of your friends aren't bullish on Bitcoin it does not mean that other "Nigerians" are not into it. You didn't have to generalize everyone with that title of yours. Please modify the title.

Sorry about that moderator, I have modified it to some Nigerian as I hope that's okay by you? Also I don't understand why the topic was moved to this section of the forum since I thought where I made the post was for Bitcoin related discussion and this part of the forum is for mostly politics but still your judgement is respected moderator.

Let me tell us all, most beginners who feel victim to had invested and lost their funds on investing in the AltCoins are sometimes redirected from their intended directions. Some may have wanted to invest on bitcoin but due to their inexperiences and low knowledges, they gets converted to invest on the AltCoins just because there was no guidance and they lacks reliable source of research and consultations as the case maybe.

It's like when you're not following the crowd to do the things that they're doing, it'll be like you're missing out. All I hear on the news and on the internet, it's the meme cryptocurrency stories that's are trending of how some random wallets is making money from just little investment in the cat and dogs meme cryptocurrency. Inexperienced and lack of proper information is the reason for this bad decision from investors and it'll continue as more celebrities and now politicians are joining the trend of having memecoins.

The more we advance into the the better part of the bullrun, more cat and dogs cryptocurrency will be launched and some of them don't bother changing the name or making a good website and white paper, they only just pay small fees to launch their memecoin on solana Blockchain and start promoting it to Investors who don't do any research but only wants to be the first ones to buy and wait for some increases in the price for them to sell for profits.

Reasons why Nigerians aren't investing in Bitcoin and the negative impact.

I was discussing with a friend, a female that I know has been into cryptocurrency for a long time and since I was new, I wanted to see how she has being investing since she joined and to my suprise, she doesn't own any Bitcoin. I was shocked because in this forum. Bitcoin has always been what we're advice to buy but this long time investor that has being in the market for more than 5 years doesn't own any Bitcoin. What I discovered is that alot of Nigerians are like this my friend, they don't value Bitcoin until Bitcoin starts mooning during the bullrun but by that time, it might already be late to buy.

Why are Nigerians like this as I don't see them talk more about Bitcoin except when they're looking for where to trade. Nigerians are among the highest investors in altcoins and it makes me wonder if it's worth it to invest in altcoins instead of Bitcoin but the answer to that is a capital NO. On my own. I have decided to list out some reason why Nigerians aren't investing in Bitcoin. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me or add the reason you can think about yourself so we can all learn and take correction as a big family.

Here's are the reason -

1] Lack of understanding about Bitcoin and capital- I think the main reasons why Nigerians aren't investing in Bitcoin is because they haven't understood properly how Bitcoin operates and this confusion is making them to not invest. Also they're not many that can afford to invest in Bitcoin.

2] Lack of understanding on investing - Many Nigerians are new to investing because not many of us are usually investing because we usually don't have enough to take care of our needs and when that's done. There's no money left to use in investing therefore many people don't understand how investing works properly.

3] Lack of understanding of the importance of supply of a cryptocurrency - Some that have all the basic needs to invest still don't understand that a supply of a cryptocurrency is very important but they don't consider this and buy Meme cryptocurrency that are having too many supply.

4] Lack of Guidance in cryptocurrency - Most of us discovered this market on our own and weren't guided therefore there's no previous users to guide us on how to invest properly and invest in the best cryptocurrency which is Bitcoin.

5] Follow, Follow mentality - Nigerians like to follow the trend, this has made many of us to invest in projects that are scam and lost alot of money instead of investing in Bitcoin.

6] Quick money mentality - Most people in the market are after quick money and this make them to always look for projects that can give them quick money therefore Bitcoin isn't always on their list.

7] Fear of losing their money - This is general for most people that don't understand how investing works and they fear that Bitcoin is a scam and decide to stay away from investing in it.

8] Bad reputation of Bitcoin - EFCC and the police has made it look like investing in Bitcoin is a crime because of how the harassment of people involve with Bitcoin and the yahoo boys has made it have a bad name in the eyes of Nigerian for those not educated or just ignorant.

9] Durations of investments too long - Alot of Nigerians don't have the patience to wait. They considered the period of holding Bitcoin to be too long so they go for other cryptocurrency that can give them profits fast.

10] Being wrongly informed - I was told altcoins give the most profits and I think many Nigerians also have this beliefs because of how they're all rushing to buy memecoins, mining, buying and participating in altcoins airdrops instead of looking for ways to get money to buy and accumulate Bitcoin.

What do you think?.

Re: How the current economic situation affect bitcoiner
by
Preciousbae
on 16/09/2024, 07:17:06 UTC
Doing a long time investment might be hard in this current economic situation if you don't have a side hustle that can sustain you during this time,so it mandatory to have a side hustle before deciding to hold a bitcoin for a long time
so btt members how has this current economic situation affect you , share your experience.

No be person way done chop finish go invest or you go invest money when you never see food to chop. The hardship reach everybody side. Before a wife can seat at home and take care of the family while the husband goes out to look for their daily bread for the family.

Things are very tough for everybody right now in Nigeria. It doesn't matter what work you're doing because you'll still have to buy things in the market and everybody is affected.

People earning in dollars are quite fortunate because they're getting paid above the minimum wage but still the money mightn't be enough without proper planning. The kind of budgeting I and my family have been in recently, the thing no easy oh. To have money left after expenses and every other things is now a difficulty. I won't had believe that a time will come like this that  living is like hell. Everybody has to contribute now. If you're in a relationship, your girlfriend or boyfriend should be doing something and if you're in a marriage, everybody hands has to be active bringing food to the table so that the family can stand strong and not feel the hardship in the country that much.

Some people earning in dollars will also be affected, for example if you are earning like 30 dollars a month and only your breakfast is taking 1 dollar that is for those who don't have family to take care of, then talk about those who have families and other responsibilities the only solution is for the prices of things to get to normal for man to survive nobody prefers quality anymore.

This hardship is affecting everybody I have to support my husband after just giving birth because only him can't support the family alone.

I was supposed to be resting but how will money be sufficient for us when he isn't earning that big. President Tinubu is the worst president that Nigeria has gotten.

Price of everything has doubled, have you seen the price of Pampers and baby food, I'm scared of having more babies for my husband because of the price of things. It's going to be very hard to be feeding many mouths. We have to take our country back from the hands of this evil doers or many people are going to die of hunger. For now we have to leave the quality and focus on the quantity because eating balanced diet is for only people wey done chop belle full. You can't tell a hungry man about balance diet when he has not seen one square meal to eat. We're finished in this country and things are only going to keep getting worse.

This permission reads all contents on your screen Tongue
Tracks your interaction with hardware sensors...
Using this while you enter sensitive datas might be a very bad Idea, I don't  know the sudden change that happened and they needed to add those permission which were not even needed to run before.
Maybe they sold their apps for a very good amount..or they are about doing something fishy...

After giving this apps this types of permission please let us not be crying when we start to lose valuable things in our phone. Alot of us keep our coins on our phone but still we allow applications with fishy permission to get have access. As tapping games get popular alot of fishy things will begin to happen.

I'm hearing that tapswap and other tapping games are now asking their tappers to pay real money and not tokens for adding to their already mined coins. Delete the app as giving the application that permissions will make you to lose any cryptocurrency that you have in your wallet. Soon scams of connecting your wallet and all your coins get stolen will soon become popular again as alot of new users are joining the tap hype without being guided.

Re: Crypto Transactions Restrictions; Banks tracking algorithm exposed!

on 08/05/2024, 07:10:36 UTC
Most Bybit merchants no longer trade with accounts without Liv2 verification.

This is the worst exchange to trade P2P through, everybody should avoid trading there or you might also get your account frozen. The narrative by the topic isn't true because there's no way to verify this but any advice that comes our way we should take it as it will help us to avoid getting our account locked.

To help protect our money, we shouldn't keep all our money in one account so if it gets frozen we won't have money to use. If you have other trusted family money that aren't into cryptocurrency trading, you can keep some money with them and only keep urgent money in the account that you're using to trade P2P because accounts are getting locked. I read online that if one big time P2P trader is caught, they look through his transaction history and go after accounts that he has traded with. If your account get locked though and you can prove where the money comes from isn't associated with crypto trading, your account will be unlocked. A friend of mine has successfully done that.

I don't want to sound rude but it seems you're an obvious novice in the whole Bitcoin and cryptocurrency ecosystem that's still not yet grounded In the basics of investing into bitcoin and it's clear that you're yet to know the fact that there are some good altcoins out there you can take advantage of for the short term and get some profit from it.

It's funny but you're the one sounding new as you didn't read my topic and get what I was saying before replying. I didn't say there's no good altcoins, what I said is we should avoid all those altcoins that have dogs and cat names. They're too many on coingecko when you click the memecoin category of coingecko.

I know they're meant to be a joke but many individuals are seeing them as an investment coin and are investing too much into them. I don't have anything against altcoins, I was looking for some to buy that is how I got to know about all the cats and dogs coins but alot of investors are busy buying them which might not have a good ending as I see there are lots of them scamming. We are here looking for how to get out of poverty and a better future therefore it will be bad when we lose the small money that we have to scammers. Some of those cats and dogs coins do not have a good roadmap, working website or active developers but still many people are rushing to buy the coins.

My brothers and sisters, why are we buying Dogs and Cats alternative crypto.
by
Preciousbae
on 07/05/2024, 12:22:17 UTC
It is becoming alarming how our brothers and sisters are investing into shitcoins all because they are trying to fight poverty that has turned this country into something else. I bought some Bitcoin after being introduced to it by my brother in law but also wanted to have another coins added to my portfolio as I know it is not always wise to have your investments only in one place but when I heard some suggestions from my brother in law, it was making me to laugh and wonder what people are investing into.

Why do we invest in a coin that the name isn't serious and a joke, why do we invest in a coin that the circulating supply of the coins is in trillions making it impossible for the project to have the element of a limited supply as Bitcoin has to make it more scarce to increase the value over time. Are we not graduate to know how supply and demand works, why do we like to throw away money. We are supposed to be investors in this industry and not gamblers. Please anybody that is thinking of investing in alternative coins should avoid all the dogs and cats project because they will fail us one day and we'll lose our money. I might not have much experience in crypto but I do have experience in finance and I know what will not be successful but only a mistake when investing, lets be guided please.
