Interesting how people are asking "why the laptop", it’s not clear from the picture but the laptop has a console cable plugged into the router allowing me to have a "physical" presence if for some reason the VPN tunnel fails and I need to access the router, also Team Viewer is installed which again is just in case there is a VPN or Telnet/SSH problem (Basically I’m a tinkering bastard and sometimes mess things up).

I still don't get what's the laptop for. Why would you need VPN to access the router? Even if VPN connection fails you would still have access to router through connection without VPN, on regular port. The only time you'll ever need RS-232 cable to access the router is during the initial setup, no mater how much tinkering you do it's just not right to have laptop close to the router. People are trying to tell you out of good intentions that if for some reason you need to have them close you are doing something wrong. Just my 0.00000002 BTC.

I think you may have miss read that fact this setup is 30 miles away from my house. Without a connection via VPN tunnel from my house to the location of the miners, I would have no access what so ever, other than using Team Viewer through the laptop. Team Viewer on the laptop is backup access, also there are a select few commands that cant be done via tenet or SSH and you need console access.

I use this to manage my remote sites:
SITE-TO-SITE ROUTED VPN BETWEEN TWO OR MORE ROUTERS USING DD-WRT/OPENVPN
http://wadihzaatar.com/?p=11

It works very reliably, and you can find extremely cheap hardware to do it. I still can't remember the last time I used the console to check the tunnel status in one of these setups.

Cheers

B looks like it would get rained on. I assume Madrid does get some rain, at some point in the year..

Yeah, right, and this year more often than any other year.

Covered area with roof (area A) its the chosen one i think Smiley I will just have to buy something to protect shelf from sun the few hours that sun hits that area Grin

Here is my open air setup of S2s running on an empty apartment that I own.
(Local laws WILL make me loose the apartment if I rent it, that´s why I mine there).
It has been running without issue for a few months. It has rained over there a few times without issues so far.
The only thing that really becomes an issue is the dust. I do need to go over there every 3 weeks to clean them with an air compressor.
The image has low quality because I took it from the security camera. I could take better pictures the next time i go there if you´r interested.
The rack it´s located at about 2.5 meters from the balcony.
Cheers

yes why?

Read this:
https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=9707.0

and this:
http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=2193.0

You need to cut the cable in side B that burns in your powered risers if using 2 PSUs.

Fantastic rig!

What is the motherboard, GPUs and power supply?

As @Kergekoin said, Lepa 1600 PSU, Saphire 280x dualx GPU (undervolted), but the mobo is actually a MSI Z77A-GD55. Running on Ubuntu 13.04.

cheers!

I see a lot of rigs with multiple Block Erupters, and tons of USB hubs. Well I have 2 Block Erupters that I picked up for fooling around and testing CraPE with, but I doubt I'll ever mine what they cost back and make a positive ROI. I really think people throw that term "ROI" around without even knowing what it means, but that's another topic for another matter.

Anyways, here's my 90GH/s. It would take over 250 Block Erupters to get the same speed, and these 2 use less than 400W combined! I got another 60GH/s coming soon, and another 60GH/s that was a later order.

I got late in the game and ordered from BFL too, ended up trading my ls and sc for a monarch on the first day they started accepting orders for the card, seemed my best option to get my money back. Getting in early is extremly valuable in this game if you have reasonable gh/$ ratio.  Like you I don't see how is it that so many people buy BEs that most likely never make a positive ROI.

Happy mining!

To all requests: I will check them a bit later, don't want to postpone new version again and again.
Within 24 hours I will release v6.0 with nvidia support, temp/fan management for amd 4xx cards and "-ttli" option to reduce overall mining intensity when GPU is overheated.

Which OS/Driver versions do you plan to support for the 6.0 Linux miner?

I have  S5, S5+, SP20, Neptunes and C1 for sale here in Venezuela. Immediate delivery. 0 wait. PM if you are interested.

At first I thought if electricity is free then it's %100 chance of profit but then I see this message. If you have mining equipment in Venezuela and you try to sell I think it's not that profitable to mine at all. Selling equipment make you more profit.
I think if OP is serious about that he should try with smaller equipment first and see the income as notlist3d said.

My situation is different. I been doing this for a couple of years now. I have multiple sites spread over the capital city in order to avoid reducing the risk of having all the eggs on the same basket. The nice thing about operating in this area is that the government always tries to avoid programmed electricity cuts on Caracas.

I'm at the point where I spend a lot of time managing and maintaining sites. I sell my older miners to buy new ones just to get more hash rate per location.

Most people would think that I should hire technicians to keen up with all the grow, but it would just elevate my risk of getting robbed or kidnapped.

well geting to zinbabwe its a bit more even like trillions of their currency thats why we all use dollar there but 12 dollars a month i imagine a house to buy there must be like 3000$ a good apartment.

Not Really. if you seek in http://www.tuinmueble.com.ve/ and use https://dolartoday.com/ exchange rate, in no time you will find out that  apartments prices in Venezuela are adjusted just as fast as the rate of inflation. Crazy right?.

Turns out that every smart company with Venezuelan FIAT over here would end up buying real state assets to protect their wealth from inflation.

This is the story of a guy that lived one month in my country (Venezuela) with 100€.

I can say that I'm happy to be a bitcoin miner over here Smiley .
From the pictures he doesn't look to happy.  Undecided
Looks like he either works in a bottle depot or he has to return his bottles to make some money on the side to be able to fly back home Wink

He bought all those beers (238 Total) for just 10 euros. Just to make his point.

Re: S7 controller has nine 18- pin jacks So what can we do with it?
by

on 27/09/2015, 09:10:36 UTC
I have 50 of the 18 pins cables custom made in stock, and also some 16 pins ones for early S5s.
12" long, they were like 1$ each. if I remember correctly.

There are/were for the S5 watercooled case, and some other projects, but it seems that they can serve other purposes.

Edit on availability and pictures

Anyone has the Digi-Key Part Number of the cable connectors?

I´ve been looking like crazy on this section without luck:

I would love to build these cables myself. Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed
