Re: Bitcoin is more preferable when it comes to others coins scheme

Right from time, it has always been bitcoin, any other digital currency in cryptocurrency are altcoins, which means that they are following after the footprint of what bitcoin serves, but they can't achieve being up to the value of achievement of bitcoin despite their attempts of being noticed, while in some conditions, you will discover on how some newbies couldn't achieve understanding why they needed bitcoin more than any other altcoins in crypto, that is why you can see some not having bitcoin in their portfolio, but running after altcoins for an investment, because they are less informed about what is at stake.
That’s the risk with jumping into investment without prior knowledge. They don’t find interest with bitcoin but they find it more risky and pressured to invest due to its high, expensive price, unlike altcoins where they can afford it even with just a single payout. Not knowing that they can still buy bitcoin portion by portion.

And now, while they find bitcoin price surging high, their altcoins are consistently showing price decline. That’s when they start to realize that bitcoin should be their target, while altcoins are just alternative coins.

Sad reality, people just learned after they experienced losses. And that it’s more risky to invest in altcoins since their future are very uncertain, compared to bitcoin where you can definitely lessen the risk if you only know how to deal rightly with bitcoin.

Re: Governments are intensifying their focus towards bitcoin adoption

I would say yes. It will start with legalization process and once it’s been legalized, then accepting bitcoin as a legal tender will be quite easier in the next couple of years. However, for me, even if bitcoin won’t become a legal tender, that’s already good enough.

The most important thing is that it will be legalized and recognized by the government, then everyone will be free to use bitcoin as a currency and as an investment tool. With this, we can maximize the potentials of bitcoin without any restriction from the government, be it currency or as a hedge against inflation.

Re: Could Bitcoin Survive if Governments Tried a Global Ban?
by

on 31/08/2025, 23:37:24 UTC
Yes, it will survive but most probably, its growth and progress will be delayed. Its still a big disadvantage when majority of the countries would pull bitcoin down because that only means the support is too low and poor.

But I don’t think this is the reality now, because based on my observation, more financial institutions are getting interested with bitcoin and take the risk to invest on it regardless of its volatility and uncertainty. This only goes to show that bitcoin has great potentials, but majority of the countries are still in denial about it.

Re: Invest now and Expect positive returns this year, is it a red flag?
by

$250k price tag of Bitcoin this year is all speculation(it's not certain). Don't put all thought and hope on that, Bitcoin will reach that price this year($250k). Sell your Bitcoin at a reasonable high price of $150k- $180k, to buy back when the market begins to experience a bearish market because hopefully by next year Bitcoin will experience a decline in price
Sell when there is excellent reason to sell, but aside from that, continue to DCA while we are still waiting for the best price to sell and make profitable returns. $250k for me is quite high for this year, that’s based on my current analysis. But we can’t make a conclusion either since bitcoin love surprises as well. Who knows? Bitcoin will reach another all time high higher than $250k by the year end, although this is just a big speculation. But for now, stick with DCA and do it regularly.

Re: Another example on why we should be quiet and not flaunt our crypto in public

Let’s be realistic nowadays, the world is all about flaunting what you have and claim the phrase that you don’t post to boast but rather you post to inspire others. I can see the good intention in here but that does not lost the fact that once we let the public know what we have achieved and what we are currently into, most especially if it in involves highly valuable asset, we are giving hints the scammers and the criminals to attack us, thus with this kind of mindset, you are only putting yourself in future danger.

When I gamble, I always follow my own instinct with good analysis as well. Some end up winning, the rest I lose them. But that’s normal, you can’t be winning the whole time. Gambling is still luck-based, sometimes you’ll be favored and win, but mostly you end up losing them all.

However, I chose to be silent on my victories. I feel like it’s useless to flex even if you win, you might be teasing a losing friend.

Gambling casinos are certainly designed to give us a good start so that players will be more motivated to increase their bets. Later in the end, the casino will find ways to get back those winnings because as always, casinos should be the one winning in the end. For me, there’s a definite pattern in gambling, but one thing is certain, the casino should always gain an edge over its players.

Slots aren’t rigged, but it’s always the casino should be winning in the end. Even pros are aware of this, losses are just inevitable when gambling.

Re: The acceptance of Bitcoin by the younger generation to me is a welcome developme

And banks will definitely be replaced by Bitcoin, that's for sure.

Will Bitcoin replace banks just because it is more profitable than banks?

No offense, but if you think bitcoin will replace banks just because of that then you don't seem to understand the role and mission of banks in the world economy. Banks is not just an institution that deposits money and pays interest, or just a system that is used only to make payments. They are a very important financial institution because they provide most of the financial related services to help people, businesses and also help sustain our economy.

Can Bitcoin provide financial loans to businesses, provide insurance services, and more importantly, can it act on behalf of banks to regulate the economy through monetary policies?

There is no way bitcoin will replace the position of banks. And why do some people here still insist that bitcoin will take place banks position in the future when even Satoshi himself does not see bitcoin like that, but he invented bitcoin so we can gain financial freedom without the banks and government’s intervention. We can be our own bank with bitcoin but it does not mean that bitcoin will definitely replace the banks from its existence.

Generally, people will still favor banks over bitcoin. It can co-exist with banks but it can never stop the banks from its operations.

Re: Does refusal to play (deprivation) help cure gambling addiction?
by
Questat
on 31/08/2025, 12:36:43 UTC
Deprivation from gambling will seriously make you a better person. You don’t need to wait for the worst scenario to decide weaning from gambling, but as long as you’ve seen something unhealthy for yourself, then the best remedy is to immediately wean from gambling.

Gambling addiction is not new for gamblers. In fact, majority of the gamblers have turn addicted into it, some are just in denial even if they know deeply they are already battling with their gambling urges and high emotions. With this, weaning from gambling is always the best option. It’ll definitely work once you allow yourself to wean, but it won’t if you insist to continue gambling regardless of your personal reasons.

Re: Privacy is very important. Do not trust anyone.
by

on 30/08/2025, 23:58:47 UTC
This is making me very much afraid everyday because you don't know who to trust anymore when it comes to Bitcoin. If the law enforcement and people who swore to protect lives and properties will constitute serious threat to people, who then should we believe? At some point one would need to mention Bitcoin such as in the case in question where the person needed the services of others to recover his Bitcoin. I don't know what he did wrong in the entire story and how the police officers and their accomplices got to know about the Bitcoin before planning the kidnapping incidence. This is a wake up call for people to keep their Bitcoin activities private.

This real-life story creates realization that no one can be trusted whether it’s fiat or bitcoin. While government officials are corrupt, but these security officers are also taking crimes silently to satisfy their greed for instant wealth. And this is a threat for everyone here, bitcoin or non-crypto investors.

Protect yourself and your privacy. If there are information that needs to be filtered, then secure its privacy. You don’t have to tell-all and regret later, you don’t know that opens opportunities for others to scam or plan an attack on you.

Re: Bitcoin investment failed
by

If you lack knowledge about Bitcoin, you won't be able to take part in those Bitcoin early day's faucet, and being able to exchange it at that period between 2009-2010 as mentioned, but the thing is that we have to under that Bitcoin at that earliest stage lack support and those that got it then thought it won't amount to anything.

But now the reality proven that Bitcoin is worth more than all other assets as far as investment is concerned, and for that we have to agree with that factors that said what you don't know you probably throw it to the dogs, so don't blame yourself too much and good that you are here now and learnt about it on time and hope you will make the change now.
There’s no room for regrets, but regrets are always valid. Don’t get too serious about it losing your bitcoin in the early years, you still have all the chances to accumulate more of it if you start moving now and make consistent buys or follow DCA. And also, you weren’t alone on that case, a lot have lost their bitcoin because they have only less knowledge about bitcoin before. So never dwell with it anymore, but focus now on your goal and start putting some actions on your plans to make them realized later on.

Re: Is Bitcoin Gambling a big opportunity or a big trap?
by
Questat
on 30/08/2025, 22:26:44 UTC
For me, it’s more on a big trap since I’m not actually fond of using bitcoin when gambling. I do gamble but only with my extra fiat, and for bitcoin, I do see it as a major investment so there’s no way I will spend it on my gambling purposes. While gambling can attract opportunities to double my bitcoin, but I believe it’s highly possible to lose them all than expect to double or triple the amount.

Gambling should be made for fun, but spending bitcoin in the field of gambling just don’t seem to bring fun for me.

Re: Riding the storm of bear market
by
Questat
on 30/08/2025, 21:37:16 UTC
It wouldn't be new for BTC holders for a couple of years to experience bear market(a period of fall in price of Bitcoin , for an unusually short/mid-term period) A period of panic where rational decisions must be taken. If a bear market is inevitable, it has to be handled intricately... No panicking!

There will always be two seasons of a crypto market, that’s bullish and bearish. So if we are currently in bullish market, expect that it will be replace by a bearish market soon, or the vice versa. The only key here, know how to ride with each market condition, so that you can guarantee long term stay in this volatile market.

If you can ride a bearish market, then you’ll be good in a bullish market as well. But if you struggle already in controlling your emotions in time of bearish, the more you need to thrive hard when you are already seeing the market in bullish.

Re: Could Bitcoin still exist if the internet was shut down worldwide for a week?
by

on 30/08/2025, 19:52:28 UTC
Bitcoin will always be there, but all transactions are suspended due to internet shutting down. Bitcoin will survive, but if this will be prolong, bitcoin might be put at risk then. No internet means no bitcoin transactions and promotions, and there’ll be no access to our bitcoin as well, and I don’t think bitcoiners will be able to manage this issue if this will be prolong and won’t get fixed as early as possible.

Bitcoin will continue to exist if this is just for a week. But this is highly impossible because a lot would be affected especially those jobs that are mainly operated by the internet.

Re: Will You Make Yourself As An Example Or Ashame To Expose Yourself
by

on 30/08/2025, 19:24:54 UTC
There’s no other person that will understand you as a gambler but only another gambler as well. So I don’t see any wrong or getting ashamed of myself if I want save them going through negative experiences in the future. I don’t want them to lose because of wrong decision making, and for that I really think that they can actually learned from me if I stand up and make myself as an example.

In the end, your good deeds count more than your selfish actions. So it’s always better to show more genuineness,  not by being untrue to yourself and to the people around.

Re: Does being overwhelmed in gambling worth it?
by
Questat
on 30/08/2025, 18:52:12 UTC
Yeah, this is what I am trying to say; there are people who stake (book) and after several moments the match goes of even at their loses the game was running til to running.
While gaming we should pick only the amount we can control whenever it's becoming too heavy for us to carry inside the community.

It’s worth to be overwhelmed, but not in gambling, because the more you get overwhelmed, the more you spend your hard-earned money and eventually lose them all in the end. You lose the control over your emotions, and to think that your emotions turn into your biggest enemy, that just means that you allow yourself to lose more than what you are comfortable of losing, instead of gambling only what you can afford to lose.

Gambling is fun, profitable, but not when you already abused gambling. Learn to gamble only at a minimal amount, so you can avoid unfavorable losses that might lead you to future regrets and much bigger losses.

Re: Big fall in the Bitcoin market!
by
Questat
on 29/08/2025, 23:45:07 UTC
Witnessing bitcoin price consistently declining isn’t a sign of a big fall, just a normal correction in my own opinion. And we don’t have to worry instances like this because this is just normal in a volatile market. What isn’t normal is that if we see btc price dropping sharply into $50k, that’s something we need to worry about, though we still can’t do nothing about it but to wait for bitcoin price to recover again and obtain another all time high.

Bitcoin is bitcoin, it’s highly volatile, so it’s not suitable for those who easily panic with price decline, whether it’s small or huge.

Re: Acquiring Bitcoin in crypto unfriendly countries.
by
Questat
on 29/08/2025, 22:45:22 UTC
That’s highly possible because even if we are living in a friendly country itself, people still prefer to make p2p transactions because they find it more convenient and safer on their part. Now how much more if the country itself is totally against crypto, and clearly against the people’s assets and properties because they want to acquire them as their own, people will surely flock into p2p where there is faster and easier transaction with bitcoin.

Luckily, my country isn’t that selfish, although corruption is still inevitable. But in terms of crypto, they allow the people to buy and hold them for their own interests.

I would just for that certain time, so he can claim his winning amount. After that, there’s no more reason to let him allow doing the same thing, that’s already a big toleration if ever and it’s like you yourself as a parent is the one taking your kid into gambling addiction in the future.

Minors are strictly not allowed to gamble, and that’s very clear. So as much as possible, parents should monitor the online activities of their kids, or set limits for them, and never introduce gambling if they hardly understand it, just for their own sake.

Re: What do gamblers have in common?
by
Questat
on 29/08/2025, 15:07:52 UTC
I am sure the way gamblers judge the health of their activity are indicative of each person's life experiences but surely not showcasing the whole picture. The thing everyone must hold high with gambling is setting up some limits and sticking to them.

If you don't have a support network around you, people to speak, go out with and have fun, then you should prioritize that instead of gambling. Spend some money going out, buying drinks perhaps, starting activities and trying to make some friendships.

Knowing when to stop or when to continue gambling, you will know eventually when you have set your limits and seriously sticking to them. If you want to be a healthy and efficient gambler, you need to be disciplined enough and avoid breaking your limits. However, I would admit, sometimes it’s just easy to say but hard to follow. And I would understand that, but consistent gambling experience will also help you become a more responsible gambler.
