Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BTCGarden AM V1 Setup [HD]

I am not finding a cgminer.conf I think I searched every directory.

Maybe it's not exist yet. Try to save setting from cgminer user interface. See where cgminer save the conf file.

I've had these for 3-4 months now the configuration has been saved many times already, is it possible the file is in another directory that I may have overlooked last night.
thanks

Does anyone know how to get these so they can be monitored from other apps through the API,

check /var/www/run.sh to make sure the cgminer startup script includes --api-listen

Here is my run.sh file
nohup  /home/pi/Garden/cgminer -o http://10.30.2.188:8332 -u User.worker -p x  --btcg-clks 310:3000 --btcg-num-chips 64  --btcg-chip-sel-delay  80  --btcg-hard-rst-all-chips-period 5 --btcg-spi-cs-delay 0  --api-listen --api-allow W:0/0 --api-network > /dev/null 2>&1 &

You can add the api setting to cgminer.conf
Usually on /root/.cgminer/cgminer.conf
Code:
"api-listen" : true,
"api-allow" : "R:127.0.0.1",
"api-mcast-port" : "4028",
"api-port" : "4028"

I am not finding a cgminer.conf I think I searched every directory.

Not sure if this is the way the others fans came but here are 2 out of 3 fans that I received 1 was in perfect shape and worked these 2 well obviously not. I am going to test the pump like you asked shortly and will report back but I wanted to get you guys some pics of the fans.

Would you mind taking one more picture with all 3 broken fans in?

So I took the pump apart, it worked when it was just the motor, put it all back together, it would work again while filing with coolant then quit just like before. Attached is a link to videos and pics, also another pic of all 3 fans.

I'm about to drain the coolant then take it apart as shown in the video. I'll take pictures of everything for you give me a little bit and you'll have them.

Thanks

If we have an issue with the cooling kit do we go to Bitmain or SysCooling? I have a C1 Batch 2 with the cooling kit that Bitmain sells with the C1, everything came fine, got the kit setup followed Dogie's instructions plus the video on SysCooling's site, setup went smooth after I get all the coolant in, all bubbles out and actually let it run like it should (not shutting off and on to fill coolant as it flowed through the kit) after 3 minutes the pump will no longer pump fluid.
I was very careful with setting it up and adding coolant because of Dogie's instructions and I didn't want to kill the pump and like I said it was running fine for those 3 minutes after I was done with the setup.
I even tried a couple different ways of powering the pump, tried using the connection on the inside of the miner like the fan is hooked up. Of course the power adapter kit that came with it (which is how I set it up), then also tried a 4 pin molex adapter that I had for some fans hooked up directly to the PSU.
This is not my first water cooling system that I setup so I have some experience with it.

Also when I got the kit the 3 fans on the radiator did not work at all, I take that back 1 worked, but I ended up replacing those with better fans I had lying around, I am not really worried about the fans it's the pump, I have the C1 sitting on my rack doing nothing because I can't / won't run it without the cooling kit working.

I am seeing that others have received broken fans as well, I will take pictures and upload them tonight when I get home from work tonight, they basically fall apart, the blades and assembly just separate I had 2 like that and those were the 2 that wouldn't run when I plugged them in. I will upload pictures later so you can see, not sure if that's what other people experienced but at least you'll have one visual of the fans. I will even ship them to you if wanted so you can inspect them, then maybe batch 3 or 4 everything will be better.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ryan

Re: How to invest 550 BTC?

Check out BTCJam.com or BitLendingClub.com help out some of the smaller home miners that have loan requests on these sites, you can add some interest to whatever you loan out and let your BTC make more BTCs for you all while you help others in the crypto world. If I was in your position that's what I would be doing, I'd invest some, also keep some in a hardware wallet to see if the price goes up in the next year or 2. The rest would be put into a mining farm of my own, buy a bunch of SP31s and let those make more coins for me.
The nice thing about BTCs you can let them make more BTCs for you without much work.

Or hold out until the price per coin gets to a point where you feel comfortable and sell them, there's plenty of sites out there for this. But with that many if true I would always keep some through the ups and downs, just to see what happens. With Microsoft now in the BTC biz, and a lot of other companies helping bring BTC mainstream you never know what the price per coin will be in 6 months to a year.

I am always accepting tips https://www.changetip.com/tipme/RME

Does anyone know where you can purchase more of the ribbon data cables, when I got my miners (from eBay) I didn't get any spares and I would like to combine 2 of my AM-V2's to use only one Raspberry PI instead of running them as separate miners. I have looked every where that I know of but have been unable to find them. I even tried to find the 8-Pin connectors (4x2) so I could make my own but I was only able to find 10 pin ones and those didn't work when I tried to just use 8 of the pins. I am looking to buy 5 or so that way I have some spares if needed. Right now I have 3 of the AM-V2's and will probably be buying some more soon and I don't want to have to have a PI for every one of them. Thanks in advance.
Another quick question, the max you can connect is 2 of the AM-V2's right? Or is it possible to connect 3 together and just change the WebGUI to 12 boards instead of 8 or 4? I haven't seen any where saying that you can do 3 I think 2 is the max but figured I would double check with the best.

Dogie, Keep up the great work on the setup guides, they are always my first place to go to when I get a new miner to setup. I'm about to setup a C1 with cooling kit and I will be using your guide. Once done I will be sending a little token of my appreciation.

Thanks again
Ryan
