bfgminer. cgminet. slushs stratum proxy. or if you want pretty and simple then guiminer scrypte alfa. bfgminer cgminer and slushs stratum are the same as running a miner just without the miner connected directly -gp 8332 this sets getwork port to listen on port 8332 and -sp 3333 to get stratum to listen on port 3333

Re: Network Setup For Miners And Server
by

on 18/09/2014, 23:54:20 UTC
for future reference it would use the internal ip for the server 192.168.1.48

to use his external ip he would have to forward the connections in his router for them  ports to the server ip

Re: running 2 diferent miners on pi b+ please help
by
RW02
on 09/09/2014, 22:31:19 UTC
yes its possible but the only way i can think of is to download 2 different versions of cgminer or cgminer and bfgminer assign the miners to them (its in there read me files) bfgminer uses \.\\com6 and the name of the miner BFL, BHX, for cgminer or something like that. then run both files. take a bit out of the pi but it should do it.

i like it but a few questions

1. what sort of power supply is it. solar. wind or from the grid?
2. what kind of broadband speeds and ping?
3. if something goes wrong with the miners are you tech savy enough to fix them?
4. what sort of location house. flat. warehouse. middle of a field?
5. in the country or middle of a city?

Re: Gui miner not mining! Help!

Yeah, I got it to work and then realized that I would never even break even with that hash rate. Plus my computer was overheating!

and this is why research is important. mining is more intensive on computers and laptops than any other program out there including games. mining will break any laptop and most computers unless there set up by people who know what there doing

Re: ADVICE - Ghash.IO showing poor speed rate ? 1Th Dragon Miner ??
by
RW02
on 23/08/2014, 03:34:57 UTC
Hi

I had 1Th Dragon miner and the PSU was faulty on it soi purchased a 1300w EVGA Gold PSU to replce it.

My 9 other miners all run at 1Th CONSTANTLY except for this one ??

Could it be because i have used the wrong PCI outlets (has 6)?

If goto the miners address and then into 'Real Time Monitoring' of the machine it is a constantly over 1 Th (over 256Gh per blade) ?

Any ideas what is going on here, difficulty is set to 256k.

Thanks

It's showing 540Gh now !!!!!on Ghash.IO and 1,023,716.81 on the 'real time monitoring. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stick it over on bitminter for a few hours ghash isnt the best for reporting correct speed. bitminter is much better just to test it out also are you getting alot of stales or rejects from the miner?

look people giving useless advice.

onto the problem in hand
1 download latest cgminer
2.download zadig tool from same place
3.replace both mining device drivers using zadig to winusb driver
4.unplug the devices
5.plug them back in
6.enter your settings into cgminer like youve done before either by targe line or batch file
7.start cgmine
8.Thank me  Grin

9. have fun and happy mining

Re: Slushs pool problems, please help!
by
RW02
on 22/08/2014, 10:39:07 UTC
So I have been mining on slush's pool for a while now, and my confirmed balance is 0.00000044. It has not been sent to my wallet, and im assuming that its because its such a small amount. What is the minimum amount of confirmed money you need to have it sent to your wallet?

wow thats pittyful. even a cheap $10 ASIC dose better. if you not one to invest in mining the go on a faucet run most faucets pay between 0.00000100 and 0.00001200 and take about 30secounds to do each

Re: Jally - run it cooler
by
RW02
on 18/08/2014, 01:51:22 UTC
I use my Jally as a 'lotto ticket'. mining solo when my gaming PC is on, and it has always run @ 60 C.

A friend bought a Jally recently to learn the basics of mining, we know they will never get ROI, and when it arrived the heatsink was loose. He removed and regooped the heatsink and after firing it up it ran at ~40 C.

Being impresseed, I pulled my Jally apprat last night. Much to my horror, the OEM heat transfer compund was a pre-fabed piece of double sided goop tape. I replaced it with some thermalake goop.

Now my Jally runs at a constant 41 C, down 20 C compared to OEM.

Moral of the story, regoop all your BFL gear to save heatstress. Note: I have had 2 replacements under warranty because of heat failures.

good advice and replacing the fans is well worth it to. replaced my fans after having them running at night and its so much better with the new fans cooler more aireflow and alot less noise

What are you mining with?

Looking at speed if your mining BTC it will take a very very long time to get any real payout.

must be cpu at them speeds  Grin

anyway with them speeds it wont even think about updating the stats for a day or so. sadly the way slushes works means you dont get details until youve done a full block and withalot bigger pools than slush it can take a while for slushes to find a block
