Re: how obsessed with btc are you?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 01/05/2025, 08:27:18 UTC
I was obsessed too, I guess every beginners that loves tech will get hooked with what Bitcoin has to offer, i did make a mistake that I am now realising, I started wrongly because at the time I had no job and I was not making money, things worked out well because Bitcoin was still very cheap then.

With the obsession I had for Bitcoin I was able to sat and patiently gather Satoshis with the help of Bitcoin faucets and airdrop, I did this for a whole year before I started mining ETH with graphics card and converted back into Bitcoin.

If the obsession was not there I doubt that I would have made it this far, my advice to beginners reading this, having a source of income is the easiest way right now, gone are the days when faucets rocks, the only option now is accumulating bit by bit using dollar cost average.

It sounds like you're leaned a ton from your bitcoin and ethereum journey, that's so cool! You're so right about having a steady income, it makes investing a lot less scary. I think it's great you brought up dollar cost averaging, it's a super simple way to stack up bitcoin especially since faucets don't give much anymore. I love that you got so hooked and tried different things. Your story could really help new people get started with crypto today!

Re: Holding on to?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 29/04/2025, 07:47:07 UTC
What do people mean when they say to hold on to bitcoin? If someone wanted to spend 300k usd of bitcoin should they spend this amount as soon as they have it or wait longer until its worth a lot more than just 300k usd? How can this be determined?

When people say "hold on to bitcoin" they usually mean keeping it for a while hoping it'll be worth a lot more down the line. If I had $300k in bitcoin, I'd be really careful before spending it all espercially if I think it could get even bigger. But crypto can be such a wild ride so it's tough to figure out the perfect time to sell or use it. It really just depends on what I'm aiming for with my money and how much risk I'm cool with taking.

Re: Trust: who can be trusted to keep your seeds?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 31/03/2025, 09:39:37 UTC
I only trust one person in this world. I will always be wary of the rest of the people I know, and sometimes even both. I don't like to say how much I have, especially sharing something so valuable, let's put it that way. I like secrets, especially when it's something so important to me.
The only person you should trust in this world should be yourself, and it will be hard for you to expose your secret to family members because you know the danger involve when family members discovered your seeds phrase. if it come to seeds phrase secret, make sure you write them down before keeping them away from your husband or children, because there will be emergency of accident or death that will make your children or husband to locate those seeds phrase in your house to have access to your coins to pay for your hospital bill.

Not only you that like secret, as long you are a Bitcoiners, you need to keep secret to yourself to stay long in BTC investment, and there are some people you will discuss your secret with, they will take advantage of the secret to scam you.

Keeping your bitcoin seed phrase safe is a big deal for sure. But if you hide it too well and something happens to you, your family might be out of luck. I'm not saying tell everyone, just don't de dumb about it, but maybe put it in a safe spot like a bank box, add it to your will, or give it to someone you trust with a simple "here's the plan". If things go wrong, you'd want your loved ones to get that cash for important stuff right? it's about keeping it secret but not so secret they can't find it if you're gone.

Re: How to learn more about bitcoin

on 28/03/2025, 04:15:41 UTC
Hi guys! Please am new here in terms of Bitcoin trading and was introduced to Bitcoin by a brother that help me in starting the trading in which he assured me of gaining
He also recommended me to read learnmeaBitcoin. please can anyone please he ne with something similar that can help me in gaining more experience in the bitcoin trading?

hey there! So cool you're jumping into bitcoin trading! I remember when I first started, I went straight to LearnMeABitcoin and it was a total lifesaver, super easy to get the hang of. I'd also poke around Investopedia and Binance Academy, they've got some chill guides that break down trading and markets without making your head spin. My advice? Start small, watch out for sketchy stuff, there's a lot out there and dig into things yourself before jumping in. Only toss in what you're okay losing and don't rush it. Take your time figuring it out!

Re: Bitcoin investment doesn't guarantee you richness
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 25/03/2025, 11:48:15 UTC

Investing in bitcoin will not make us rich, let alone any guarantees. The days when bitcoin could increase by thousands of percent and give x100, x1000 returns are gone. What we will get when we invest in bitcoin these days is that we will have the opportunity to get significant profits compared to other investments. There is no way we can invest $5k or $10k and think that in the long run we will make millions of dollars, those days are gone.

This notion is not only happening to newbies but even to those who are investing in bitcoin, many still believe that bitcoin will reach $1 million in the coming years and will reach $5 million or $10 million in the next 20 years. That won't happen easily because bitcoin's market cap is not small anymore, we should be realistic about that.

Even on our forum I rarely see anyone talking about the risks of investing in bitcoin, most people just focus on promoting its potential and ignore the risks when newbies ask for investment advice.

i've been mulling over bitcoin a bit lately. it can still put some cash in your pocket, no doubt, but I'm not holding my breath for those wild, life changing spikes like back in the day, the market's grown so much, it just doesn't pump like that anymore. I see why people are into it, and I feel the pull too but those rollercoaster swings? They're real. i've figured out it's best to only throw in what i can shrug off if it tanks, keeps my head clear and my nights peaceful

Re: What part of crypto is trending at the moment?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 20/03/2025, 10:01:39 UTC
Although I might be wrong, but it  looks like memecoins are still leading the trend, despite the bad rap that some of them have gotten.

I say this because personally, I remember seeing TUT the memecoin on BSC, and I immediately thought about CZ's involvements with BSC and how that might translate to a token like that.

Sure enough, when I went to check what I had bought, it was already up about 84% and about 140% from the listing price. Although to be fair, in this case I got in really early.

I'd still like to know other people's opinion on what the market trend is, especially if you don't think memes are the trend currently.

I've been watching memecoins take over the trends lately and it's wild how much a fired up community and people jumping in for a quick buck can keep them going. They're super up and down so I learned with TUT that getting in early is the trick. Some people think the excitement's gonna die out but I've seen how these coins bounce back big time when the market's hot, like they've got nine lives or something. I'm also starting to notice other cool stuff picking up steam like turning real stuff into tokens or projects with AI, which sound pretty smart to me. I figure it's smart to mix things up and not put all my eggs in one basket. I try to keep my ear to the ground on what's moving in the market so I don't miss out.

Re: WHAT DO TOU THINK ABOUT MOBILE MINING APPS?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 18/03/2025, 06:39:21 UTC
I'm not a big fan of mobile mining apps even though my only experience with one was overwhelmingly positive.  I recall back in the day when Litecoin was first released.  I downloaded some sort of Litecoin solo miner on my old iPhone and actually managed to mine a block.  I remember thinking it was pretty cool, but back then it wasn't exactly winning the lottery and I was worried about overheating damage to my phone so I stopped.  Looking back, I should've probably bought 100 more phones and had them all solo mining.  LOL

Mobile mining used to work fine years ago but now it's too weak for the tougher challenges and phones can't handle it. Overheating and battery issues make it risky and most apps today barely pay or turn out to be scams. For real profits, ASIC or GPU rigs are the way to go. Mobile mining just doesn't cut it anymore.

Re: "Priceless" Bitcoin commerical
by
RagnarTheThunderer

Does everyone remember Peter Schiff's priceless post?

Price of one Bitcoin in US Dollars - $9,300

Price of gold per ounce in US Dollars - $1,570

Witnessing gold bug claiming his Bitcoin wallet forgot his password - Priceless

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EPXwl9aWAAEHAqb?format=jpg&name=large

I can’t believe some people would actually fall for this. This just shows how little technical knowledge people have. Why and how would a wallet forget his password? Lol it’s funny. Sometimes this kind of stupidity is hilarious.
Quote
Although, as a Gold Bug I may disagree in some of his insights/ideas. But as a person, I believe I would like to have a few beers with him and talk about different topics, AND actually learn from him in many different matters in Politics and Economics.
Yeah, why not? Maybe you can even convince him about certain topics. But honestly sometimes talking to someone as close minded as him is just tiring and tedious. I’d rather not waste my effort on this.

I'm not shocked Schiff's still trashing Bitcoin. he's been at it forever. That 'wallet forgot his password' jab is just folks messing with his words. I bet he just lost his login like tones of people do. I'd love to argue with him over a beer, but man, it'd wear me out, he's so stuck in his ways. Still, I'd listen to his side even if we just shrug and call it a day.

Re: Can a long forgotten project do well after getting rebranded?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 12/03/2025, 09:06:47 UTC
I've always criticized exchanges repeatedly due to their activities and allegations surrounding project listings, securities, and more. However, today it seems the tables have turned in their favor because of the good deed they did regarding this project.

For those who just came to the cryptocurrency space 2 to 3 years ago, may not know this project. $AB is an advanced blockchain ecosystem that evolved from the Newton Project, established in 2018. I farmed it back in 2018 when trustwallet was hot, but had forgotten about it until they rebranded, and eventually got listed. The exchange also rewarded long-term people like me Here. I just hope this project will reach the level of BTC, ETH, and others due to its longevity.

I love how people's views on exchanges can flip depending on what they do. They've had some sketchy moments with listings and rules but I've got to give them props when they do cool stuff like helping out long term holders. Seeing $AB go from the Newton Project to where it is now makes me feel good about how tough blockchain stuff can be. No clue if it'll hit BTC or ETH levels but it is awesome it's still kicking. Can't wait to see what's next in this crazy crypto world!

Re: Where do large mining companies send old ASICs?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 11/03/2025, 08:51:33 UTC
After the halving, many ASIC models will either become unprofitable or give very little profit. And in order for large companies to use all the power for maximum profit, they will turn off thousands of old ASIC models.
And what will happen to these ASICs next?
Will they be sold to other countries or disposed of?

If you want to buy a used ASIC now, don't do it. After halving there will be a big discount on such ASICs on the market.

Take a sec before you grab that ASIC, after the halving, a bunch of used ones are gonna hit the market. People with cheap power will snap some up but others might just get dumped. If I were you, I'd wait a bit for the prices to drop, it's bound to happen!

Re: Can I change the maximum leverage on Isolated Margin in Binance?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 10/03/2025, 05:03:59 UTC
I have seen that in Binance Futures there is a maximum leverage of 125, but unfortunatelly there are restrictions from my country so I cant open an account on futures, therefore I have sent my USDC to the Isolated Margin, but the maximum leverage is only 10. Is there a way to change that or is that just what I can do?

I ran into this with Binance, some countries can't do Futures trading, so no 125x leverage for me. With Isolated Margin, you'll stuck at 10x and that's the max, no wiggle room. I've heard other exchanges might let you go higher but if I were you, I'd double check they're safe, legit and easy to cash out from. There are also those DEX platforms with fewer rules but they feel riskier to me. Either way, i'm keeping it smart, high leverage can bite you hard!

Re: Lucky Miner LV07 - frequently reconnect to local mining pool
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 07/03/2025, 09:26:28 UTC
It might be the power acting up or a glitch in the software or maybe a shaky connection. Since there's no packet loss, check the power supply and miner logs for errors. Maybe try updating. Update the software and double check pool setup to make sure nothing's overloaded.

Re: Celebrity Tokens – Hype or Real Opportunity?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 06/03/2025, 04:30:27 UTC
I wouldn't just dive into a token because some big name's behind it. Sure, a famous face can get everyone hyped up and pump the price at first but I've seen too many of those crash when there's nothing real backing them up. If my favorite athlete dropped a token, I'd dig into what it's for, who's running it and how it actually works before I even think about jumping in. Hype's fun but I care more about stuff I can actually use and that'll stick around.

Re: Do you buy ASIC miners from China?
by
RagnarTheThunderer
on 04/03/2025, 04:57:17 UTC
Buying an ASIC miner coms with risks especially with long shipping times and potential damage. To reduce risk, I'd look for trusted local resellers or distributors who offer warranties and easier returns. If I had to order directly, I'd carefully check the warranty terms and consider paying extra for better shipping protection

Potential damage? That is rare, because Asic miners are made of strong iron body, I have friends that have agents in China that help them to source for Asic miners and so far so good, I haven't heard about a dead miner.

The way you use the miner will determine the longevity of life, place in a well ventilated area and you will be fine, heat is the real enemy of Asic miners, make sure they are hashing away at a good Temp.

ASIC miners are built tough but shipping risks still exist especially over long distances.

If more countries start using bitcoin, it could become as valuable as gold. This might make its price more stable but it could also lead to competition with some countries trying to control the bitcoin market.

Re: Has the reputation of mixers really gone too bad?

Mixers help protect financial privacy which matters to a lot of people. Thing is, some use them for illegal stuff and that's a problem. The industry should focus on building privacy tools that stay legal but still shield users. Better exchange security could also stop hacks before they even start.

This is just me but for 2025, the best mining machine depends on efficiency. S21 Pro for bitcoin, M60S is a good alternative. L9 for altcoins. I chose based on electricity costs.

I trust bitcoin's long term potential because it has consistently recovered from downturns and reached new highs. Volatility is part of the journey, I see it as an opportunity rather than a setback.
