hope the bottom $6000 is reach . the triangle will take almost one year to complete??

Alts may take the lead during that time and Bitcoin will stay in shadows until Lightning Network is fully adopted.

OK, I got headless up and running, couple questions.

1. byteball.sqlite is now 2.5 GB, how big is db in sqlite format?

2. RPC call for main chain index returns 348670, where do I compare this to see if I'm fully synced? It's not obvious how/where to check on explorer.byteball.org.

Bump. I'm up to almost 7 GB byteball.sqlite file now (and almost 4 GB log.txt), and main chain index of 821618.

Bumpity bump bump, or is this thread only for asking stupidly obvious questions about air drop that are clearly answered in OP?
Yeah, you should have better luck in Slack chat.

I am participating in the airdrop since the 1st round. But why i was receiving black bytes at the rates of bytes?
2-5 rounds, I got 0.1 (was promised 0.21111) GBB per GBB + 0.0625*2.1111 GBB per BTC
6,7 rounds, 0.2 (was promised 0.42222) GBB per GBB + 0.0625*2.1111 GBB per BTC
Can anyone explain? I did not open my wallet for a long time. I did not get about 100 GBB in total on all of my wallets.
There is no GBB per GBB, only GBB per GB.

So if my calculation are right we have :

504928.00786310 btc linked  which will bring approx. : 31,558 gb

and we have 255,492gb in circulation which will bring : 51,098 gb more after airdrop

So

31,558+51,098= 82,656 new gb added to the one in circulation which in total will bring to 338,148 gb in circulation.

Yes that's 1/3 of all gbytes.

Yes i think in this rate we will have at least 3 more airdrops
.

The BTC > GB ratio should be decreased in the august airdrop, imo. Too high price, too many BTC linked.

Sorry for not reading all, I have an easy question: Is this coin at least as anonymous/private as the cryptonote coins (Monero & Co)?
Thank you.
Bytes no, Blackbytes yes.

I there!
i'm new on byteball.
I'm installing the latest wallet on win 10 64bit pro.
But syncing stucks on 0%..
Any tips to speed up cyncing?
maybe there is an online link to download a blockchain snapshot?
thank you
Try light wallet, you don't need full database to use Byteball.

мне уже и 20% пришло
да я думал люди поумнели,нифига как сливали,так и продолжают лить после раздачи)
Слито максимум 700 GBYTE при розданных 50000+. Если бы сливали 10%, мы бы сейчас болтались на дне.

I'm glad to introduce the Snail Coin Toss

It's a 51/49 coin toss that you can play directly with a bot, it doesn't require your trust since a smart-contract is used.

Pair your device with the bot: AlC854WVi7kHvTn0z6k4i7/GihEYQUltB7vkLGw4+efH@byteball.org/bb#R and go to chat.

Hey, I used your bot and won, but I don't get how to spend the money from the smart address.

Return to the home of your wallet, you should see also xx bytes in smart wallets under your main balance, click on the bet smart address to select it, then spend this smart address (you can send the money back to your main address).
Oh thanks, that was more convenient than I expected.

I managed to buy today and now I'm waiting for my 20% BONUS from next delivery. It is a pity that you can not keep coins on the exchange and receive coins from distribution.
As far as I know cryptox.pl distributes bytes to holders on exchange (with some fee, of course)

I have nothing against the concept of rich people getting richer, I just was thinking at which way could favour the best distribution and thus the adoption of the coin. It is true that whales would distribute their BTC between many addresses, but as I said, they would not waste their time in creating the THOUSANDS of addresses needed to store one BTC each, even if this could be done with automation (but to create an automate system still needs time and skills), so in the end even if whales distribute their BTC between some addresses they would still end up receiving proportionally less coins than the little holders, which means more coins available for more people.
And I also agree that the distribution also to holders of XRP and ETH and other altcoins would create mothers of all whales, and making the distribution process too complex, while the idea which I've suggested would be very easy to realize.

No, your idea would make it x10 more complex. Just imagine that you are newbie with 10 BTC and going into random altcoin thread (Byteball) and see: "you need to link your BTC address to get Bytes, go to transition bot bla bla bla (this process alone is too complicated for 90% of users), BUT if you want to receive more coins, you would need to split your BTC into 10 wallets and THEN you will get more". That's just shady. We don't need that.

The idea to distribute byteballs among as many people as possible is excellent, but the dev could improve the way in which it's implemented.

At the moment the big BTC whales are getting the biggest slices of the cake. There's nothing bad in that, except that this is an obstacle to a fair distribution of coins. Whales are just getting the gift and since they are already rich then they forget about bytes until they eventually will decide to dump them at some point, crashing the price and hurting the moltitude of the latecomers.

A way to improve the fairness of distribution would be to diminish progressively the quantity of bytes given for every BTC after the first BTC that the bot finds on each address.
In other words: if you have up to one BTC in one linked address you get the max amount of bytes per BTC. If you have more than one BTC in the linked address you get a bit less for the second BTC, and even less for the third BTC, and so on.
This way, big BTC holders will statistically get proportionally less bytes than little BTC holders. Of course, if you want to get the max quantity of bytes you can always spread all your BTCs through different addresses and link them all to the bot, and for sure this is what I'd do since I don't own too many BTCs. But a whale who owns 1000 BTCs or 10,000 or 100,000 would never be able or be willing to spread all his BTCs on so many different addresses and go through the process of linking them all to the bot.
The result would be a more homogeneous distribution of the coin and I think that this would benefit the project.
Anyone who likes my idea is welcome to tip me with some bytes, or some gigabytes, or even terabytes, if you prefer Wink
My address: 7BO67BNRHQZ6P32U7YIIB4MFOW4JGRNU

Rich people are rich because they know what to do with money. I'm ok with current distribution method.

"Mommy please hold my hand" "How do I even turn this on".

Wow such developer you are, cant even find things without asking for help.

Your fudding is ridiculous, as tony explained to you before like a professor to a daft kid, transaction thrughput increases with trx amount.

Anyway look in the github.com/byteball/headless-byteball folder play/create_* scripts thats all you need to waste your bytes.

Btw iota is retarded and iot with pow is oxymoronic, only asomeone with no experience in iot could concieve such idiotic concept.

I think you got everything wrong. Let me tell you how it really is:

1. You and me decided to do some testing to resolve our dispute.
2. I asked for API both here and via PM to tonych.
3. I got a link from another user to RPC calls which doesn't contain sending messages command.
4. I looked into the source code and spotted some places which may lead to performance degradation on machines of other users (btw, why is SQL so heavily used?).
5. I asked for assistance because Byteball is still being developed and I don't want to bring the network to knees just to prove my point to you.

So now I'm on the crossroad:
1. Use RPC call and risk disrupting normal operation of Byteball mainnet (if you think I'm wrong I'm open for a bet on this).
2. Wait for someone to help me to send plain messages which don't require to trigger signatures verification and can only affect storage size.
3. Do nothing.

I'm pretty sure most of Byteball community members are not happy you picked it as your favorite coin (so far nothing except disservice has been seen from you) and I don't want to make them less happy by interfering into normal Byteball network work. So I'll wait few days more hoping one of the devs will help me.

I'm not going to interfere with your debate, but as byteball holder, I would like to see anything you can do to disrupt the mainnet. It would help to see weak sides of the coin and to build more resistant network.

Block 465811 is going to be the snapshot block.  We are are waiting a few hours to make sure there are no reorgs, then I'll start distributing bytes tomorrow morning.

Pretty annoying to read "tomorrow morning" on a planet with 24 time zones.
No, it's not. Just look at snapshot time — May 10, 2017 at 21:42 UTC. So "tomorrow morning" — 7-10 UTC, May 11.

I was wondering why there aren't any exchanges where you could exchnage blackbytes. Does something technical stuff prevent them from doing so?
Yes, blackbytes is a highly anonymous asset and your wallets needs to be paired in order to transfer them.

I am new to byteball. How much do you get if you hold 1 btc ?
62.5 MB for each 1 BTC = 0.062 GB

Is this a lot ?
About $15 currently. But if you hold, your GBytes will multiply x3 in the next 12 months. And if price rises, well... it may worth a lot.
