Pretty generic stuff in here but I'd like to get to work with a few projects related to these.

Thanks!

I am looking for some very unique blockchain/crypto related project that is in a early stage and wants funding.I have a budget in 5 figures and would like to get partnership in proportion to my investment.
I can choose 5 different projects to invest in or 1 single project to invest all.
Scammers stay away as I will be doing thorough research and documentaion before investing.

Text messages got a lot more private. In April, the world’s most popular messaging service, WhatsApp, announced it would use end-to-end encryption by default for all users, making it virtually impossible for anyone to intercept private WhatsApp conversations, even if they work at Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, or at the world’s most powerful electronic spying agency, the NSA. Then in May, tech giant Google announced a brand new messaging app called Allo that also supports end-to-end encryption.

Most Japanese (like most westerners, I think) are still pretty much unaware of the profound significance of the blockchain, much less how it might change the world. The typical Japanese person knows very little about bitcoin, though there are enough buying it to strain the exchanges now.I think many see it as a way of hedging against a collapse of the yen, though I expect purchases will pick up.

If you are a US citizen/permanent resident, then your worldwide income is taxable.  The IRS doesn't care where and how you make the money. If you are living in another country, there are a lot of nice tax exclusions/deductions.  Also, if you are a professional bitcoin trader, there are also a lot of other next deductions.

Re: Crypto Debit Card (US law only banks can issue debit cards)
by

on 18/12/2017, 10:52:21 UTC
Debit or credit card based transactions are backed by the holders ability to assume debt varified early by banks before issueing them. Crypto currency on the other hand has no such backing. Its value is based on the demand and supply of it at the crypto exchanges that handle the crypto currency. . So in fact for buying and selling one don’t use crypto currency directly in many cases except in few agreed transactions. One buy and keep cryptos and its value rise. In future one can convert it back to dollars. Otherwise where ever it is acceptable, one can exchange for products and services using it. When you exchange it one can use the dollars exchanged back for paying your credit card bills or credit it in the bank for debit card payment.

Right now ICOs are regulated in such countries as USA, Switzerland, Singapore, islands, etcICOs are banned in China, North Korea, Vietnam.Europe still doesn’t have strict regulations.Choosing the jurisdiction, most important is the citizenship of your future investors.

It totally depends on what I want.If I want to access torrent sites, many of which are blocked , or for general web access with more privacy, VPN is used. But when I want to browse censored informations and do or watch some illegal stuff, I use TOR. The thing with TOR is, never login to any regular web accounts you have, as that site will understand you are using TOR and may let surveillance authorities of your country to monitor you.

Firstly ,bitcoin trading is not regulated in India. So, just like SEBI regulates the stock market, there is no entity which regulates Bitcoin trading. While this makes it risky to trade in bitcoin, it sure doesn’t make it illegal as no law prohibits Indians from trading in bitcoin.

Re: How many Altcoins are there in the crypto world?
by
RealKhan
on 02/12/2017, 18:51:10 UTC
Bitcoin may be the most well-known cryptocurrency, being the example that most illustrates a virtual coin. However, Bitcoin is one of many cryptocurrencies and in recent years, ‘alternate coins’ (Altcoins) have been making gains in the peer to peer, decentralised and anonymous currency market.

Many of the Altcoins a built upon the fundamentals and framework provided by Bitcoin, with different coins aiming to provide a different and unique selling point, using Bitcoin’s technology for a unique application like, for example, some coins’ ability to use Smart contracts; software designed to enforce contracts automatically and without error.

The recent rise in ICOs, alongside continued growth in the cryptosphere has enabled more currencies to rise, creating more room for opportunity. The breakthrough fostered by Bitcoin has undoubtedly bloomed into something exciting. Whether or not the up and coming projects will continue to go from strength to strength in light of plans for regulation is yet to be seen. How decentralised systems will continue to work once regulation is in place is another difficult question. For now, the Altcoins provide unique applications and a different texture from ‘mainstream’ Bitcoin. Aor today, there are about 500 different types of coins.

Re: Altcoin future
by

on 02/12/2017, 18:34:43 UTC
Anyone who’s tried to live on bitcoin alone knows it’s hard to do. Nearly impossible. But acceptance is growing. Altcoins are in a similar conundrum. The only people who know about altcoins ALSO know about Bitcoin, but it doesn’t work in the other direction. Plenty of people have heard of Bitcoin yet have no idea there are hundreds of other digital currencies alive.

So right now it’s tough to use altcoins as payment. However, Ethereum and Litecoin have recently been added to many exchanges, which makes them more stable. Stability is a huge part of using altcoins as payment.

What about investments? It’s the wild west out there. Altcoin values fluctuate even more heavily than bitcoin. You might get rich on a surprise winner, or watch an altcoin die a slow death. Still, imagine if you had bought $100 worth of bitcoin a few years ago.

Re: ICO problems
by

From the terms of the investment, to the team backing the company. Read the whitepaper. On top of that, look at the fundamentals. Are you speculating on a pump and dump or can you actually see yourself using this product. It seems like everybody and their mother is issuing a cryptocurrency these days, find something good.

Avoid playing ICO roulette. Meaning, try not to throw money at every single coin or token that has an ICO. Historical data shows us this is generally less profitable than holding on to a select few strong coins.

Do not let yourself become emotionally attached to any coin you have, or any ICO you are thinking of getting into. I will not write about which recent ICOs I think were not worth it, since I'm sure we can guess as a collective group of smart readers. That being said, if a company adjusts the rules of the ICO abruptly and soon before the ICO, maybe it is a sign to take another look and decide if you still want to buy the coin.

Re: What makes a altcoin valuable
by
RealKhan
on 29/11/2017, 04:35:50 UTC
The public perception of a cryptocurrency has big bearing on the value of the currency.  In the case of Bitcoin, a driving factor can be people reacting positively to the innovations and the fact it is a thorn in the side of the mostly corrupt banking sector and gives competition which cannot be tampered with in the traditional way.

Many cryptocurrencies are not known in the public eye bar a few and the smaller ones typically have a cult following, so their prices are much lower than say Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ether.
Many cryptocurrencies are reusing the Bitcoin code and just changing some of the specifications such as the coin supply, proof of work algorithm or adding other features. How much a currency has ripped off of Bitcoin with no innovation or potential utility over Bitcoin can affect its reputation.  Thus people themselves are the cause of growth.

Also, factors such as: difficulty level(mining),supply/demand,scams.

Re: how to identify scam coin
by
RealKhan
on 29/11/2017, 04:24:46 UTC
If it looks too good to be true, then it’s probably a scam. There’s no free lunches

The best way to avoid falling into these various scams and shady schemes is to identify common characteristics such as: no white paper, ghost team members, guarantees of high profit, ambiguous details on how it actually works or minimal to no information on founding team or company and etc.

More importantly, it pays to acquire knowledge and understanding of how cryptocurrencies work and the underlying technology that powers them. Arming yourself with the right knowledge would safeguard you against these scams.
Scams and Ponzi schemes do not possess these common characteristics and are usually centralized and opaque.

Re: What are most stable alt coins in 2018
by
RealKhan
on 29/11/2017, 04:18:39 UTC
Today one can safely name leaders that will maintain positions in several months. Bitcoin is still among top 5 cryptocurrencies to invest in 2018, but there are other market players that have unexpectedly entered the list.

Monero. Monero was developed as a currency featuring an advanced confidentiality level. It preserves user anonymity. The demand for Monero has substantially increased after it became known that the American government was tracking Bitcoin transactions.

Litecoin.‘Virtual silver’, coins created on the blockchain similar to Bitcoin, has also grown in price in 2017. Testing of updates (which significantly increase the transaction speed) in the Litecoin network and adding Litecoin to major exchanges might be the possible reasons for that

Bitcoin.Experts give the following advice: if you have no time to track exchange rates of altcoins, invest in Bitcoin. Its price is growing, winning back lost positions, and is close to $5000 mark in the end of 2017. Besides, you will have no problems with storage and withdrawal: all exchanges and wallets support BTC.

by
RealKhan
on 25/11/2017, 20:12:38 UTC
Hey guys! I wanna start to invest in alts like XRP, ETH etc. and I can't really find any wallet. I don't think we have any great multi wallets yet. I know that there are some wallets from developers, but what I am looking for is the wallet for different types of coins.

Hope to hear some good ones from you. Thanks you
