mining on windows is nothing but headache and way too much work, with the number of riggs you are dealing with is a full time job and than some. the down time alone will eat up your profit quickly if i were you i would look into some linux distros like ethos smos.

i am a hobby miner IT guy myself and been testing mmpOS and i really like it it's been super stable for my AMD cards

Best of luck!

about your power cost, is it 10 cents or 1 cent?
most power companies in US charge extra premium after 1000KW or so, is yours a fixed amount?
It's a fixed amount but PA is weird They charge a 'supplier rate' and 'Distribution rate' So while my Supplier rate is .04599c/Kw hr the distribution is what it costs to get that power to my house. So my total is .10C/kw. There is no Seasonal rate or anything.
Claymore straps are fine, 32 mh/s for my Micron babies with Claymore straps is the best I could ever get from them.

I wish all the luck to the topic starter, 10c per kWh doesn't sound attractive though

How many GPUs do you have per rig using Claymore straps? I can't get more than 5 to work. No idea why.

I am really sorry to disappoint you now, but I am running 12 AMD GPU rig almost with no problems. Uptime is around 6 days. Using Windows (as it's free and straps are working; once strap function is available in HiveOS I might switch to it).

My setup is a little different though; MOBO is Gigabyte's

upd: I re-checked your first post and haven't found anything about your MOBO lol. I had a feeling you use different one or mentioned it in some other post.. w/e

my piece of advice is to distinguish each GPU's bios and put GPUs with the same bios in the same rig.

This would help you to flash them much easier.

The motherboard I have is an Asrock H110 PRO BTC+
Of course, I've done this. Each rig is separated by memory type. Samsung/Hynix/Elpida. Strange that you don't have this issue. Wonder if it's something to do with the motherboard then?

Gosh I hate Asrock stuff Smiley

I don't question your flashing skills, but could you share what exactly have you done with AtiFlash?

I faced the problem that the bios of my GPUs was 256kb instead of needed 512kb in order to flash correctly.

So I believe I haven't flashed them at all, and just used Claymore in-built settings.

if anyone shares Vega .bat settings , would be glad to appraise.

Try starting with the following configuration for Vega (there's some more tips for tuning your settings here):

Code:
set GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=0
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
set GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
set GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=100

:: Set the pool, username, and port here. All three arguments are required.
sgminer.exe -k x16r -o stratum+tcp://pool.here:port -u user -p password -g 2 -w 64 -X 320

Let me know how it goes Smiley

Awesome, will give it a try later today.
There are no AMD miners for X17, but it seems similar to X16R with 1 more algorithm. Is it possible to port the optimizations into a separate X17 miner/kernel?

That sounds doable; I'll look into it.
R: (which I guess shows GPU load) is dropping to 5-10% on some of gpus and later on makes them sick. with -22% pl it showed 10 mh/s on some of healthy GPUs.

My Vega rig is remote, I can't risk and keep it working there for now - not stable Sad

so just in case someone is interested, I use the following parameters:

intensity: 118 (120 gives 1880 h/s, but I do not risk to give it a long try as I am far away from my rig atm).

double threads: true

concerning the vegas themselves, I have Nitro+ 56, parameters via OverdriveNTool

1590 - 1000
930 - 950
-22% powerlimit

Sorry for being wrong.

Great miner, higher hashrate for vegas!

Love it <3 :*

How did you manage to avoid the hashdrop ?  Wink

And what algo do you use? Cn heavy ?  If yes can you please share your hashrate and config with the way you managed to avoid the hashrate drops with vega please ?
v7.

hashdrop is avoided by using monitor connected to MOBO.

I had the issue with Cast XMR and that's the only way I could deal with it

what is extraordinary about 850h/s  Huh Huh Huh

just default straps from 1750 do the same.

I've managed to have 950 h/s with samsung memory though, 8-gpu rig, 1.3 kWh

well this miner is too far from Cast XMR in terms of optimization, but taking into consideration the pleasant GUI, I use it on one of my rigs.

However, if developer manages to reach the same hashrate for Vega as Cast XMR, I would instantly switch all rigs on it.

By the way, one more question, any possible optimization for Fiji?

I've got my Fury X mining 950 only Sad

Read this thread about 8 times when I was having a mare setting this board up with vegas. In case it helps anyone - the 16x slot seems to use resources differently to the others.

Enabling mining, Gen 2, using internal graphics brings the shorter slots online, but if you use that longer slot it hogs , especially with Vegas. I had crash after crash till I swapped from using that 16x slot.

hey! did you just ignore pci16 slot on the mobo? or you used riser for that? or?

I disabled fee in Claymore. Lost 1Mh/s on each gpu.

So it' s worth to pay the fee.
how come 1% is more than 1Mh/s ? what is wrong with you?

Can't you count? The 1MH/s loss scales too. That is, let's say he has 1k GPUs, at 31MH/s per:

With the fee on, his "effective" hashrate is 31 * 1000 * 0.99 = 30,690MH/s.
With the nofee switch and the inability to modify the code to disable the slowdown: 30 * 1000 = 30,000MH/s.

Pretty clear to me.

oh yeah sorry, I misread the message.

YES, my point was paying fee is better.

What a drama coming!

For those who wants Claymore to lower dev fee - suck it up dudes, he makes constant developments of miner things and he's the only one who always deliver.

If you are so greedy and for you 0.35% makes a huge difference (sick joke, seriously), it would be better to throw yourselves out of the window.

I am 100% sure those who have industrial mines have their own miner software and not have any problem with comission.

So, most of baby cryers outta here have 1 rig with 300$ monthly income -- 3$ per month for actually MAKING this income possible -- it is too much for you guys?

Coming back to reverse engineering thing, I do not appreciate such kind of actions. Hope it has nothing with stealing Claymore's code.

Have a nice day everyone!

I have significant hashpower and believe me, 0.35% makes a substantial difference at current prices

it is your problem you cannot inquire someone about your private miner and have a stable hashrate with no fees.

you misunderstand me - 0.35% is the difference between Phoenix Miner and Claymore - that difference IS significant

Here I have completely understood your point, you have unlimited hashpower - blah blah.

But in the case you have zillion hashes per second, why aren't you able to buy a private miner for your needs and remove fee, approximately, forever?

So, your words are just blabbering to me.

yeah dual mining is pretty much dead with asics on-line.

claymore's fee is down to 1.5%, it changes nothing I guess though

850 h/s with 570 Nitro+

1520 h/s with Fury X Sapphire.

Watt consumption is around 300 W for Fury

Is that on the wall wattage?

Basically, I have 650W 90+ Gold PSU for two Fury X; when I overclock GPUs more, PSU starts to switch off - so these are rough calculations, but true

Anyone managed to pull off more than 55 Mh/s with Vega?

This miner considered to be the most profitable for non-ETH only GPUs.. but Fury X giving the same hashrate as brand new Vega? Sounds uncool

Think about it for a moment...the only major differences are an increase in memory from 4 gb to 8 gb and a few architectural tweaks...its more evolution than revolution in design. vega 2 at 7nm is where it will get interesting...
There is a major difference in frequency: > 1400mhz for vega (depending on boost, volt ...), 1050 for fury x.
The difference in frequency should bring some increase in hashrate. This is the case for some algo but not for this miner.

The reason is that there is some assembly code, specific to a given architecture, which is pretty well optimized for fidji and not so well for vega.

Agree to you, it always comes up to driver-miner synergy. That being said, this miner is no longer most profitable since Claymore NeoScrypt has been developed.
Sorry to say that Sad
