If ETF passes we will go 10,000+
Why would the price climb to 10 K dollars if the ETF is approved .Why are people making these claims. Why don't we stick to reality about the price. The realistic price it could reach is $2500 to $3000 at the max and we still have people calling for $10k . Cheesy How about a good correction in price if the ETF is not approved,do you think it is possible. Wink

Good to see there is still some development going on.
Sadly I lost back then all my BlackBytes after migrating to a new client. Good old times 😂

Better question would be how much have you shorted above 4K?

I'm 18 BTC short at $6600

And you bought them >16000$ ?
Good job @ buying high and selling low.

300k visits and google docs limit is 200 concurrent users.

Good job researching this.

Another overhyped project with a team that lacks even basical technical know how. How the hell are you supposed to build/implement a blockchain project?

So, the first mistake you made was to NOT make a full backup.  That is the biggest mistake you could make and negates everything else in terms of blaming someone else for your problem.

True.
I do not blame anybody but myself. I assumed that a SEED backup was enough.
It is, but not for blackbytes.

I have a lot of different cryptos, but most of them are stored on my ledger nano hardware wallets and the seed is protected with multiple cryptosteels.
All other are backed up with encrypted wallets on multiple devices and locations.

Byteball was the "only" special one -> SEED, but not enough to recover all assets.

Since you had your seed, you knew up front that a backup of a seed only would only restore bytes (not blackbytes), as it tells you exactly that during the seed backup (and recovery).

I store all my SEEDs within Keepass. And the byteball seed was created a long time ago -> e.g. I just forgot the disclaimer about blackbytes.

Why would you delete your appdata (wallet folder) just because of a one time error?  That's another mistake (second) in that even if the wallet has a problem, it can be fixed.  So, a backup (simply moving the folder) is preferred to deleting and then hoping to magically get the funds to reappear.

Why? Delete the appdata folder was to ensure that I can install the new version without old artifacts that could cause trouble and backup with the SEED.

Install the old version from before the update and use backup to restore on the old version. Once successful send all funds to a new installation of the new version on other machine and make a new backup.

This won't help.
I just saved the seed values and did never perform a full backup.

Thanks.
Byteball and Titan-Coin should be recoverable.
All blackbytes are lost.

@Random-String-Symphony

Restart won't help. Error message always pops up. Have to wait for a wallet update from Toni.

@Toni:
Does this work:
"This is crucial to understand: after restoring an old backup, the receiving party can restore his blackbytes if the sending party re-sends them."

If so, could you contact me and tell me what is required to re-send the blackbytes?

I updated my Byteball wallet today to the latest version.
The application crashed with an Uncaught Exception Error.

I deleted all the files (including %appdata%) and installed the client again.
Recovering the wallet from my seed was followed by this error:

"Uncaught exception: Error: message encrypted to unknown key, device 0GY.....SRL, len=240. The error might be caused by restoring from an old backup or using the same keys on another device"

Any help is appreciated. (Do not PM me asking for my SEED values).

Looks like I probably just deleted bytes worth 1 BTC... haha always lucky.

Edit2:
Recovering any deleted files from SSD is highly unlikely.
Lost all my blackbytes, lost titan-coins worth approx 1 BTC.

Now we have the first real-world project that chose Byteball as a platform for their ICO.

It is TitanCoin: http://titan-coin.com/en/
One-pager: http://titan-coin.com/one-page-ENG.pdf

They are going to raise $11.2 to buy equipment for processing raw materials into Titanium dioxide.  Me and Steve serve as advisors for the project.
PreICO starts now and will raise only in Bytes with generous bonus for early investors.

It is also one of the first industrial ICOs.

This will be the first use of our ICO bot which was published on github just recently https://github.com/byteball/ico-bot.  The bot is designed to help entrepreneurs raise funds and distribute their tokens, easily and securely.  This early version accepts only Bytes, it will be extended to also accept BTC and ETH, and possibly USDT.  The tokens are issued immediately after the payment is confirmed.

TinanCoin ICO bot is already in the Bot Store.

Do you mind to share an update?
You are listed as advisor and should at least know what the current status is.

Website has not been updated. No ANN thread in bitcointalk. Staff missing.
Looks like a scam with the knowledge of the Byteball creator.

price now 5900 usd per btc
bitcoin  will fall more . We have not seen the real fall yet . bitcoin Needs to return to at least level 4000 usd

Just hold the same amount of coins in BTC and BCH.
If you're holding 1 BTC and 1 BCH, the cumulative value is still 7800$.

There was only a slight shift from BTC to BCH.

Always the same with altcoins -> 99% you lose money (aka BTC) and 1% gives you crazy returns.

Had invested 1 BTC with an average price above 0.25 BTC per GBYTE.

Announcing Byteball for web merchants.

The first payment gateway between web merchant sites and the Byteball network.

With Byteball for web merchants you will be able to accept Byteball payments for any goods or services you sell on the internet. Your website will display a quick Byteball payment button similar to the well known Paypal button. Only one single click on the button is needed by your customer to pay you. It is easy to use, nothing to fill.

In a minute you will be able to be paid in Bytes from mobile or desktop customers holding a Byteball wallet at a minimal cost and effort.

Pure script implementation: nothing to install.

Multi-currency input (Bytes, BTC, EUR, USD) to Bytes output.

Anonymous: you do not need to register with us.

Per sale commission: 1000 Bytes + 0.9% fee

https://byteball-for-merchants.com/

What's the purpose to use your service?
There is no added value that would justify the 1000 Bytes + 0.9% fee.

If you buy Byteball via the in-built trading bot, you can get Byteballs 10-20% cheaper than on Bittrex.

I already said what can you do with that money here, so with 10 btc I would cash out 9 and I would buy a house, with 1 I would play poker and slots in my favorite casino.

The bold part is probably why you never will get some financial independence. Smart people never "invest" in things with a negative expected value.
I will never understand why people play things like just-dice or oder dice games. The chance to win in the long run are 49.5% (1% house edge).
You can't beat the house.

Looks a bit sketchy. The order book is full of such "fake" bids and sell walls.

If you have 10 bitcoin, you probably buy more (not selling some).
10 BTC is only 30k USD, which is nothing compared to what have most in other investments (stocks, gold/silber, real estate).

Poor beggars with 0.0001 BTC will probably sell and try to increase with shitty crapcoins to 0.0002 BTC.
