The A2000 and other do have an advantage when LHR was still a thing but now its not a must have, in fact I prefer buying LHR graphic cards over this A2000 because we are not in a bull market.

Re: No such thing as Too Big to Fail
by
Rikimaruu
on 02/06/2022, 07:26:32 UTC
Nothing is too big to fail in crypto world, Terra Luna is a big example that the safety of your money isn't guaranteed even if you invest in top altcoins out there, it's the same risk involve with crypto generally including BTC but BTC is just way safer, I have seen people losing 6 figures to Luna and some Defi projects, first of all try to understand what you are going into, many don't know how risky crypto space is, take risks with what you are ready to throw away.

But if we talk about Bitcoin, the prime mover, then we have some exceptions to this rule. Terra Luna fall because of the people behind it, they didn't know or at least didn't expect this and don't have any fall back until it's too late. Of course there is risk, so everyone should know how to mitigate them at least and not invest all your money into crypto and hope that one day you will become a millionaire. Maybe ETH is also one project that you can add to the list of being a 'safe' investment.
Terra falls because of the people behind it you say, who are those behind other crypto projects? Ghost? gods? What happened to Terra can be categorised as a fatal mistake but it can happen to other projects too, we are all humans and mistakes can be born at any time.

The old luna aka (luna Classic) will be abandoned as time goes on, it's less useful now and there is no reason for big players to invest in the project, this coin crashed again yesterday and now trading for 0.00009$ this morning, this isn't a project you want to keep for long term , find another good project.

The bear market is not over and some people are already feeling like the bull market is back, this looks like another bull trap to me, this isn't the right time to start buying again because the dip isn't over, just because Bitcoin goes back up to 30,000$+ isn't a sign of bull season, wait for more dips before buying.

Re: Which is better: Ethereum or the Binance Smart Chain?
by

Ethereum is better but BSC seem to be the right choice for developers because of gas fee, the only thing that BSC do better is almost free gas transaction fee, if Ethereum Merge happens by August of this year many developers will go back to Ethereum for future builds.

History might never repeat itself but I am 100% confused that whales always target BTC halving season, they have this mindset of crashing the market after BTC hit a new ATH, even if history doesn't repeat same chart movements I am sure that it will still be way down all along unless BTC halving is around the corner.

The mining software you are going to use must support both AMD and Nvidia at once, for example Nbminer supports both AMD and Nvidia while Trex supports only Nvidia, you can use Trex for Nvidia cards and Teamred miner for AMD in hiveOS, could be tricky at first for newbie but you can get tutor about it on Youtube.

Re: MSI 1080 hashrate problems please help
by

1080 graphic cards aren't a good choice for mining anymore, leave the old cards be for PC gamers because that's the best a 1080 graphic cards can do right now, they are still 1080p display champions.
Thats not true , if you have a 1080Ti with 11 GB Ram its still a good card for mining for a few Algos.
I bought mine straight after the Card was released i guess 5 or 6 years ago or something around that time , and it still mine without any problems.
Depends what 1080 Versions you have for sure , and old Cards dont wanted anymore for PC Gamers , they want also the best and new cards.
Many gamers dont care about new graphic cards, a 1080ti is still a beast of PC gaming till date, you only need to play graphical demanding titles in a lower resolution like 1080p, I am sure that the card can still push 40fps to 60fps easily.

Yes it is recommendable through doing your own research, there are many regrets I have about asking people which project is good to hold or not, I have missed some biggest opportunities because I failed to listen to my mind and soul, do not let anyone become your path finder for you.

Re: PC gamers taking things too serious?

Why do gamers try as much as possible to avoid graphic cards that have been used for mining before? Is this even making sense because it looks like tech illiteracy to me, does it makes any difference when mining to gaming because my gaming PC is always built ot upgrade with GPU that I have used for mining and there isn't any issue.
Most casual gamers in my country use $140-$200 video cards, they are 8-18 year olds. I myself play on such a video card, and in my free time I use it in mining. Now a new video card can be bought cheaper than a used one.
Which country are you from @FP91G, I really want to know because I haven't heard where new things are more costly than used things, it doesn't make any sense and if it's true I will like buy from your country, will be more easier if there is a online store based in your country too.

Re: How do I setup my GPU for mining
by
Rikimaruu
on 27/05/2022, 07:21:20 UTC
I see two problems here

1. You have a 4GB graphic card which is bad for crypto mining now unless you choose a brand new coin or you go for Ethereum Classic mining.

2. 4GB or Not, you can't solo mine with a single GPU, it will take like forever to solve a block with just one graphic card.

Connect your gpu to pool and mine.

How many projects will rug pull in 2022? There are many projects that will face the same fate as Luna project but I believe we are able to raise voice on Luna CEO because he is popular and well known, what about projects with invincible CEO? There are tons of Defi and metaverse projects with invincible team, I think their case will be much worse than what we've seen.
But come to think of it, only bitcoin remain the decentralized cryptocurrency, all other cryptocurrencies are not decentralized. There are over 20000 cryptocurrencies and many of them are not good coins to hold. Many of them do not have utility purpose. But luna is just one of its kind and a present failed project which could later inceease in price there is nothing impossible. If you want to use a coin that is not very volatile, you an use bitcoin.

After Terra (LUNA), I heard that $YFII has decreased in price by up to 70% (although as of today the price of YFII is rising again). All of this may have happened because of the loss of confidence in projects with a background in Finance, which have a very high APY.
Still luna will be the fail of the year. An altcoin can fall 70% when bitcoin has already falled over 50%. Altcoins are always more volatile. What about coins like doge that has falled 1000% since ATH.
You are right, Btcoin remains the true decentralized project, just imagine if other projects can build their projects on BTC smart contract, I think this is what will end up happening few years from now, it's why I am looking into Sovryn and other.

Re: An advice for Crypto Investing

A friend does borrow money from the bank and use it to invest in luna in 2020 he got lucky to have taken his profit before the crash today, using borrowed money to invest is highly risky and not advisable but if you know what's at stake and you fully understand whatt you are doing it can lead to a life-changing result.

If you have the following card its entirely stupid to sell them

1. Gtx1660 supers and Ti
2. Rx6600xt - 6800xt
3. RTX2060super - 3060Ti/3070s
4. A2000-A5000

If you do have rx480 and 580 pls sell and get more efficient graphic cards, avoid staking.

You don't have to do the exact thing that a motivator is telling you to but do learn from it, we are been told to do our own research because we think differently and we handle things differently, we are all humans and I believe we can get better than those who are experts in this field today.
