Bought my dad a trip to Egypt. He's always been so impressed with the ancient Egyptians and a big history buff, I had to send him to see the pyramids.

One day if I can save up enough I might send him again and this time actually manage to go with him.

Re: Bitcoin or gold?

I'll be making my fortune through BTC, but my endgame still involves gold. I plan on burying some amount of gold somewhere where I feel safe about it, and keep it there until need arises. Sure it might not bring in much of any returns laying buried in the ground but at least I'll be calm knowing that even if all the economy crashes, I'll have something to fall back on. Maybe I'll hide a stash of weapons too, since guns may become pretty expensive in the event of an apocalypse.

Wouldn't go for investing into gold in the current situation. There are plenty of better options.

Shows there were probably many more unreported murders than today.

Wonder how they checked if a person is rich or poor. Any poor guy can pull his resources and make himself look presentable for the customs officers.

Most women only washed their hair once a month
That's probably an exaggeration, but it brings to my mind how wrong Hollywood portrays women from back then. They always show them as perfectly clean with spotless clothing while in reality hygiene back then was not what we're used to today.

Re: Impact of drinking alcohol.

I used to take alcohol regularly, and I don't remember suffering from any of these conditions. Even none of my friends who consume alcohol has experienced any of these syndromes. Common, coma as a result of alcohol consumption? This is ridiculous.

He did say it depends on the amount taken and the physical condition of a person, so maybe you just handle alcohol better than some people. One thing it can cause is for you to get a distorted picture of reality around you and act inadequately and that's bad enough.

I remember I once drunk about half a liter of vodka at a friend's house. My friend was already wasted and I felt tired too so I lied down on a bed with the intention of taking a nap. I must have slept no more than one minute as another guy who was there recalls and I jumped from the bed in sort of a panic and ran outside. During that minute of sleep I had a dream that the IRS with SWAT teams have confiscated my friend's house and taken everyone away. I woke up and couldn't differentiate between the dream and reality. I wasn't going to let the SWAT guys capture me, so I ran outside and started running through the streets. At the same time I was also looking for my friends by banging on the doors of houses where I supposed they were being held. Weirdly and luckily for me nobody opened their door. Mind that this happened on New Year's Eve and I went out with bare feet and not too much clothing. Cold made me sober up in about half an hour but when I did I was somewhere I had never been before and I had to get a cab. Went straight home, the cab costed a fortune.

As I think this over now, someone could have opened his door and given me a serious ass kicking. In fact I'm pretty sure if the guy whose door I was banging on was just as wasted as me and had a gun, he might have even shot me.

I don't get it. Why can't they just think of how much money they have. Most of these people could simply retire at any point they want and live the rest of their lives like kings from what they've earned in just a few years. Also for every hater they have they also have some deluded fan out there worshiping them.

Still if public judgement is so harsh, they can just take their money, go live in some secluded tourist resort for rich people the next 5 years and nobody will remember them in the end. They'll be just average Joes with millions of dollars in their bank accounts.

Re: Champions League: Juventus vs Real Madrid - Who Do You Support?

As a fan I support Real, because I've been kind of a fan since I was a kid. As a gambler however I support Juventus, since they're sort of an underdog and will probably have a nice payout if they do an upset. It's possible provided their defense holds, but I think it will be a one sided match with Real doing all the attacking.

I don't know what happened to English men. They used to be tough people. They battled the seas and conquered half the world. Nowadays if you ask them they're all brawlers and fighters like Antony Joshua but they don't dare look Arabs in the eyes and their women walk scared through the streets at night. Weird how a nation can change in just one or two generations.

He'll probably get bailed by some sheikh with connections or some NGO funded by Soros. Just like a while back with that woman in Sunderland in the UK.

Either way 4 years in Austrian prison will be 5 star hotel for him while the poor girl's boy's life is destroyed...permanently.

Edit: Yea boy...I my mind wandered off for a bit while writing this, I was thinking about what kind of madness we got ourselves into the last decades.

I'm so glad Ariana is OK, would have been such a shame to lose her, and to terrorist attack of all things. I wonder what are the Brits going to do when they leave the EU and terrorist attacks continue. What's going to be the next logical step they can take to defend themselves against their own home grown jihadists.

Is this wallet online or downloadable onto your computer?

It's a desktop wallet, so you download it, and sync it... This process can take hours to days and takes +100 Gb of diskspace. If you don't want this, you should look at an SPV wallet like electrum.

BTW: i would strongly advice to stay away from online wallets for multiple reasons.

Why does it take so much space? Does it have to download a copy of the blockchain on your HDD? Is the HDD speed of importance later on? I have an old 120GB SATA from many years ago, you think it's suitable?

Melania is a modern take on Jackie Kennedy. It's been years(decades) since we've had a stylish or sexy first lady. As for the kangaroo well, the guy is lucky it didn't seem to feel threatened by his punch and didn't fight back. The dog took a mean kick to the ribs though.

Wait, does this mean I'll be mining this coin while playing the game? Will the server have some sort of microtransactions with that DigiByte coin?
