Re: Russia cut off from Swift is fantastic opportunity for bitcoin

I'm reading many articles explaining that Russia shall be cut off from the SWIFT global interbank payments system, as a sanction in response to its invasion of Ukraine. That means it would be impossible to make bank transfers between Russia and most other countries.

I see this as an absolutely fantastic opportunity for BTC.
If you can"t use banks, just use BTC and be happy.
It may but it may not , because while the war is in process i don't think there will be an effect towards this situation .

yes Bitcoin is in good position in this but how long would this take before being in crypto market? like now that the prices keeps in dumping or staying neutral while many are still in afraid of losing their funds .
It’s natural to be afraid of losing your funds because the market has been dipping constantly. But this whole game is a game of patience and even if you are afraid you should not at least sell. I have decided to wait till the situation is back to normal.

In the final draft of the MICA framework, the much anticipated cryptocurrency regulation also includes a provision forbidding the environmentally unsustainable consensus mechanism.

Re: Will bitcoin ever get regulated

I think no. At least, I see this currency as one that is not tied to the politics of a particular country.
According to me, bitcoin regulation has the potential to make the market much safer. It still will be risky but with protection, there is a less chance the market faces any kind of outside manipulation. Through regulations, the authorities can implement measures to help Bitcoin owners protect their assets.

Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum

In terms of competition, Bitcoin is still unmatched, but ethereum was created as a complement to Bitcoin and not as a competition. Bitcoin is the primary store of value and medium of exchange whereas ethereum is seen as a general purpose blockchain.

Re: what gives Bitcoin it value?

Op is write from the aspect that he is going. He said that it is demand and supply that give bitcoin value. You should instead say that bitcoin was built on scarcity model. Because, everything that has value we see today is because there is demand for it. Anything that doesn't have demand will not dominate.
Bitcoin has value because people believe in the security of bitcoin,  that is PoS protocol.
Also because of the liberty to use your money pseudonymously is another big reason. Some people don't like third party in their private life. Even the miners incentive is one of the value drivers of bitcoin. So bitcoin is totally value driven.

I agree!  Bitcoin has the attribute of currency but the main source for its value lies in the restricted supply and increasing demand. Like gold, Bitcoin's value lies in its scarcity. The argument for bitcoin's value is similar to that of gold: there's only so much of it out there to be mined, and the more people want it, the higher its worth becomes.

I watched the power of a dog. It’s a great film. Benedict Cumberbatch has again outplayed himself.

I agree, Bitcoin is the most promising cryptocurrency so far and has been successful in maintaining its position as the top crypto cryptocurrency as per MarketCap. However, the volatility of the cryptocurrency makes it quite favourable among traders also.

Bitcoin actually is the alternative if the banks are not helping. Banks and governments do not have any control over bitcoin. The best part is you can contribute without giving your bank details.

Re: CBDC will make Bitcoin MORE valuable

Central bank digital currency is basically the same exact thing as a traditional currency we use today. It is a digital version of fiat money which is controlled by the bank.. People nowadays do not buy bitcoin because it is digital. They buy it because it is volatile and more people used it as an investment. It is also used to purchase anything (goods and services). Some countries have already started using bitcoin as a medium of exchange. More people has became rich with bitcoin. And I think, thats the reason why people keep choosing bitcoin because it is more valuable than CBDC.
CBDC is essentially an upgrade of fiat, issued based on today's technological developments instead of using physical fiat. Yes, people will keep buying bitcoin because its price is higher than CBDC and Bitcoin price will continue to increase and demand for owning bitcoin will increase as CBDC will be inflationary and regulated like fiat.
I agree. But I won’t consider it as an upgrade of the fiat currency. CBDC is just the same as fiat currency, just the form has changed to digital ones. Bitcoin is made based on blockchains unlike CBDC.

Re: One Remarkable thing about Bitcoin

Bitcoin does not need to prove itself even though many people are not aware about it. Bitcoin is much more divisible than fiat currency and can be divided up to eight decimal points, with constituent units called satoshis. Most fiat currencies can be divided only up to two decimal places for everyday use.
