I hate to do the math, ...

I hate to do the math also, lol. I had a lot more than 100 bitcoin at one point. Spend some. I think i bought a MacBook air for my then GF now wife for like 20 BTC at some point. Sold 10 to buy a car when I needed one. Sadly bought some shitcoins way back when....think i spent 10BTC on Neo of all fucking things. Lost some on Gox. Paid off my house. So now selling 20 to buy a bunch of cash flowing real estate seems like a no brainer. And while sure BTC will appreciate more than the return I get from the business, its volatile and stressful to hold for this long. I still work a day job despite my networth, because i prefer the cash flow to selling BTC just to live.

I may regret it, hell I probably will. But hard to have too much regret when the cashflow is more money than my Mum used to earn in 10 years.

Can't believe its been nearly 13 years since I started posting on the wall observer thread. Cheering for the downfall of the bear whale. Hearing the same FUD over and over again. Updating bitcoin core over and over again, checking the binaries, devising stronger and stronger security as my investment went from 4 figures, to 5 figures, to 6 figures, then 7.... and now finally hitting 8 figures. From a $5k investment. Crazy. While everyone in my real day to day life told me it was stupid, a scam, a total waste of money, destroying the planet, a right wing grift.

About to finally sell 1/3 of my stash. Will buy a mostly passive business returning $400k a year....for ever. Generation wealth for the kids i have had since that first investment. No going without food like I had to growing up. No getting bullied for wearing hand me down dunlop volleys. No eating carrots on Canteen days because Mum couldn't afford to spare any cash. 100% certain I would be better off just hodling the BTC, but can't pass up the chance to set my family up with cash flow for life. I'm sure lots of people here have had to make similar decisions .

And the only people that really understand are you reprobate fuckers....the ones that have been here with me the whole time....the ones that believed when the world called us crazy. The ones that made me laugh. So thanks everyone. I'll keep most of my stash, and I'll keep checking in here, reading the thread when ever I feel down, or like a need a laugh. Here's to all you fuckers. I love you all, and I love how far we have come.

Big congrats!
That said...somehow I have a feeling that me might also know you by some other nick...otherwise, what a posting/logging restraint over 12 years!
Of course, you don't need to answer.

Notably, "passive business returning $400k a year....for ever" hardly exist, as far as "forever" part is concerned.
Surely, you can buy a bond of a long duration that guarantees the cash flow as long as the country in question perseveres undisturbed, but business?
Perhaps, I am just not familiar with some businesses that are essentially forever.

Thanks man! I may have more than one account lol. Even had one stolen by Russian's over that time lol.

It's barely a business. Just a form of industrial real estate that the world will probably be in need of for a long time, that requires very little input from me, in an area where they are definitely not making more industrial real estate. Basically a landlord, with a few wrinkles.

It's weird how complicated people like to make shit. People have been talking about Elliot waves and bitcoin since I started here in 2013. Buy now, sell now, definitely this is what the future holds. Sounds fucking stressful if you ask me. Plus a recipe to end up with 0 bitcoin. I'm sure there are people out there that have made a killing, survivorship bias and all that. Maybe even a couple know what the fuck they are talking about. Still stressful.

With btc the KISS principle has always worked out pretty fucking well, and will continue to do so as far as I can see.

Buy bitcoin. Only sell if you absolutely have to. Like a loved one needs a kidney, or the bank is coming to repossess your house or some shit. In bear markets don't look at the price. Sometimes for years. Chill the fuck out. Don't think you are smarter than you really are, sure as fuck don't think you are smarter than the chaos that is bitcoin price movements.

Buy bitcoin. Don't stress. Don't sell. Don't be greedystupid.

If every chart producing oracle that has come and gone from these pages had done that, there would be a lot more rich forum members. Your charts, models and fancy theories will send you broke. I'll still be here. Once I forgot my password for 3 years. Thank god for JohnTheRipper.

Anyone had any issues redeeming the Gold PK ones?
YES,
I bought 5 Gold PKs. 4 i was able to redeem few years ago.however one was not...emailed Tim many many times but he never got back to me.

Do you remember how you redeemed them? Is it a Mini Private Key under the sticker, or did it need a website in order to get the key/address or anything?
What was different about the one you could not redeem?
PK under the sticker. however the public key shows its loaded but private key doesnt correspond.

Well fuck. Mine is locked in Deposit box, guess I need to make the trek to pick it up and peel it, so I know if i've been fucked.

Been a while since BTC has been behaving like this. Congratulations to everyone who has survived another bear market, held strong, and stood by your convictions despite economists, politicians, noble prize winners, talking heads, hell even friends and family telling you you're and idiot, bitcoin is worthless, and you will soon lose everything.

Everyone will think you are lucky. But the fortitude to stay the course when all around you are talking shit and trying to make you doubt yourself is not easy to come by. This is my 3rd bear market, I know the pain. And soon I will sell a small portion, pay off my house and investment property, and enjoy the fruits of my convictions. To everyone else here, I salute you. If you have made it, well done. If you have yet to make it, I believe in you, like you believe in bitcoin. We saw the future before anyone else, we did the work to understand it when it was easier to be a hater, and now once again, we link arms like brothers and observe price discovery, like some of us have done many times before, and all of you will do again.

where does the value of "millions" come from?

I know of maybe a dozen 2fa coins with issues - to be fair I dont know how many were made and still unredeemed as of current date.

Has anyone had any issues with the PK coins? Other than the ones who bought unfunded ones on eBay that is.

Perhaps it comes from all the time I’ve spent researching this whole mess. From all those who’ve been open about the 2FA coins, as well as those who own them and have been private about it (I’ve gotten plenty of messages from people who wanted to remain anonymous/private about everything). If you just read this thread you’ll find a lot more than just 12 2FA coins. I also said over a million for 2FA coins, not millions.  I said millions for the PK coins. All 2FA coins have issues too, not just some.

yea gotcha there - that was why I said wasnt sure how many were made and how many had been redeemed.

have there been any issues with the PK coins? other than people who bought unfunded ones? or never confirmed receipt and thus never had their coins funded?

I haven't been able to find any compromised PK coins, I looked pretty hard because I really didn't want to crack open and peel an MS70. The reasons I decided to:
- If Tim ever does really break bad, I would expect all the PK coins to swept at once, it would make no sense to sweep them one or two at a time, so you would have no warning
- The Titan's are now effectively worthless outside their peel value. Nobody is ever going to buy them funded, on here or anywhere else, or at least nobody with any knowledge of the space. So given I will never be able to sell mine, what is the point of keeping the BTC on the Titan? It's all risk, and no reward. Sucks, but it is what it is.

If Tim was a scammer, he would have kept private keys to the PK version, and swept them by now. The fact that that has no happened would make me believe "Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence". He fucked up the 2FA version. Corrupted, accidentally deleted, or something like that. The 2FA coins are gone, probably lost forever. I could be wrong, but I think its the most logical explanation. Having a DB be both secure, and redundant, is very fucking hard.

Peeled three 1BTC Silver Titans today. All PK versions. No problems sweeping, other than the fact Coinomi only seemed to be able to sweep the BTC and BCH, not the SV. I always liked the Titan coins, and kind of sucks because one was an MS70, but given this thread, and especially Tim's lack of communication, just not worth the risk

This thread is a shit show.

I haven't logged in for a while, but it's concerning enough that I will probably sweep mine tomorrow. But just to clarify, has there been a single confirmed instanced of PK coins being swept by Tim? I.e is there any evidence he kept copied of all the keys?

I have a couple, will attempt in the next few days and report back if I had any issues. What's currently the best wallet/software to sweep, and get all the fork coins etc?

Goat sold a 1000 BTC Casascius coin on here a few years back. I'm not sure where the thread went but I recall the trade details were partially disclosed.

Man whatever happened to Goat......he used to be everywhere way back when, I took a break for a few years after my account got hacked, and totally forgot about him. Retired on Yacht I hope.

Instead of banning abortion, we should make vasectomies compulsory for all males at age 14. They are reversible, so once a man has proven he is responsible enough to have kids, and raise them, we should allow him to reverse it.
