Re: Can stablecoins like USDT replace bank savings in Nigeria?
by

⭐ Merited by Princess Leah (1)
With the way inflation and bank charges are eating into people’s money, some Nigerians are now keeping their savings in stablecoins instead of bank accounts. Unlike Bitcoin, USDT doesn’t rise or fall much, it just mirrors the dollar, so it protects against naira depreciation. But then questions come up, can stablecoins really replace the role of banks? What about safety, regulations, and accessibility when someone needs cash quickly?
I don't see saving in USDT as a good option when I can buy bitcoin and hold it so the price can appreciate and i make money. USDT does not appreciate in price so holding it is like you are holding fiat and can be better than holding naira because of the inflation that is affecting Nigeria local currency.

Bitcoin will make me money while still holding@ than USDT that has stable price. Bitcoin should be the one to replace local currency not stable coin.

Yes, cause lack of communication, not seeing each other and no one reminding the child about their parents would surely and can definitely distort parent - child bonding.

Re: S€x before marriage or after marriage, which one do you prefer?
by

on 10/09/2025, 16:14:27 UTC
I met my wife in 1985
we married in 1986.

For me personally sex is a pillar of marriage

not the only pillar but one of the important ones.

Whether you have kids or no kids.

sex can be fun and entertaining even after 40 years of marriage.

must you have a roll in the hay before no but you have to talk about what you expect up front.

ie both of you should agree to kids or no kids and know where you stand on this before you marry.

Also have some idea of loyalty or open.  and do not bullshit about this.

ie this is a huge marriage killer if one partner is a habitual cheater.

if you both know what you want and honestly tell each other what you expect about sex you do not need to test each other out.

prior to the marriage.
you're very correct. Sex before marriage is one of those things that actually makes a relationship or marriage work better in most cases. Cause you never can tell how it will be after marriage. Cause one may agree to sex after marriage and not get what he or she is expecting from their partners. Though not in all cases.

Sex before marriage or after marriage i would say its based on individual preference. Many people believe s3x before marriage adds alot to a relationship. That is they get to know their partner's sexual life. While some believe in abiding by the scriptures. What they've been thought in the church or in their homes. They want to keep that doctrine intact.

So for that it is individual wants. Like everyone is entitled to their choices.

Yes, competitive economy is beneficial because there will be more quality products or goods to buy. As producers would want to keep up in the market.

Products will be cheaper for purchasing.

It is also beneficial to the society as there will be job opportunities for the unemployed. So these are some benefits of a competitive economy.

Re: Education and rural-urban migration

I would say most people in the rural areas migrates to urban areas because they believe or see that there are better opportunities there. Such as;

Educational aspect; people in the rural areas believe that education in the urban areas are better. Where as they have qualified teachers and they are more vast in learning, both in the theoretical aspects and practical aspects with better equipments.

Job aspect ; they believe the urban areas have better job opportunities with good salaries to keep them going and even acquire other skills that boosts their knowledge better.

When you are transferring in fiat currencies, the bank will always want to know the reason why you want that transaction to be accomplished. When you are sending Bitcoin from an exchange to another exchange, the exchange you are using might ask you for a reason or ask for strict KYC verification if you are sending huge amounts.

If you are sending from a wallet you have access to the key, you don't need a reason to do that. You can send as much as you want without giving anyone a reason. I'm up for corrections!

Re: School or Skills?
by
Sarah Jordan
on 10/09/2025, 12:04:19 UTC
School and skill are very important. Because both her needed. But which one comes first matters alot.

And all of these is subjected to time and money. Cause i think if money is available both can be acquired at the same time. But if one doesn't have enough cash to run the both i suggest the skill should be done first then the schooling can come after to gain that academic qualifications.

Why i say that the skill should come first is because in work environment today almost every employer needs the skills of every employees first. Cause there are levels of work a skilled person can do. A person with just the school qualifications without been skilled can't do it. Same goes for that of the schooling because a schooled person knows the theoretical aspect of the job.

For that, school and skill are both important and needed.

Re: Money is power and it open doors for you if you are financially discipline

True money is power, bqut then again to maintain that position one needs to set boundaries and discipline oneself in order to have an achievement.

To sustain this position of power one should have the idea on investing in busineses that will yield more money. As an entrepreneur when spending always have it in mind to get back what you've spent cause if not you won't retain that position of being financially stable.

Re: Above all, we all need Peace
by

on 25/06/2025, 14:12:42 UTC
Peace is what we should allow to reign and everyone have this right to live their life in other for them to achieve maximum economic and financial growth needed to develop and advance, it also helps preserve all we have both lives and property.

I don't want to believe it that there's a place that has not experienced instability before when it comes to challenges like war and restoring peace back, while making my little search, I got to see this information regarding some selected countries with their present conditions with 2024 statistics for peace.

https://talkimg.com/images/2025/05/12/UU1D3W.jpeg

sure in all we all need peace. All this fighting/war is something we as an individual or a country doesn't need. If we could just have one mind(like having a solid agreement that benefits all) the world will be peaceful. We seriously deserve that peace which we find.

Re: Niger delta country and Biafra county

Niger delta as the history have it that Niger delta is the first country that first fight to be on their own

What happened alongside is what will don't know

How come about this Biafra...
And why Niger delta don't support Biafra
Your OP should have carried more details because this is a general board where different nationalities visits, a none Nigerian might not understand where your argument is coming from. Like @Franctoshi, noted this thread should be in Nigerian politics and society board but since it's not moved we can as well make comments here. What is happening in Nigeria, is that some regions of the country feels marginalized and wants to go their separate ways, the reason for this is bad governance, when the government is favoring some regions more than the others. I believe that if the leadership is favoring to all the regions nobody will be interested to breakout from the country. There had been a civil war to divide the country but it didn't work out, now it is in the hands of politicians to unite the country but they are clearly not doing enough and the agitation is continuing in some communities.
you're on point. I wish the Nigerian government would really look into this matter. Instead of favoritism thing or what tbwy re after themselves. They should focus on the needs of the people and what will bring togetherness in the country. But no they aren't looking towards that. They only care about what they benefit, their gains. And it's really showing great negative impact to the people in the country. I hope Nigeria becomes one again with no corrupt governance.

Re: Iran - Israel War
by
Sarah Jordan
on 23/06/2025, 14:34:14 UTC
Hey Community!

The USA has been saying that it wants a peace deal with Iran, and the middle country was Oman. They are supposed to be in a meeting this Sunday (today) on Mascot regarding the peace deal. But suddenly out of nowhere, Israel attacked Iran and killed 9 Nuclear scientists and a couple of high officials. Some people are saying Iran does not want peace.

Well, if so, why did Israel attack Iran while they were supposed to be in a meeting in two days? At first, the USA said they didn't know anything about this attack. A day later, Trump said he knew everything and that the attack happened using US weapons.

The so-called peace deal meeting was just in case Iran refuses to talk, so they can blame Iran. The plan was that, no matter if Iran agrees or not, the USA will attack Iran using Israel. Israel attacked four countries in the last seven days. What do they want, actually? Peace, or some pieces of these countries?
in all of this, all i can see and say in this whole banter between the two countries. it's the fight for world power. The US just want other countries to be beneath them. I just wish this matter is resolved amicably without grudges from both end.

I would say Israel attack on iran is uncalled for. No matter their reasons. These country or the people in the country hasn't given israel any reason to attack them.
The US getting involved agitating for peace is a good one. But then again while agitating for peace it is wrong on the side of the Israelis too still go as far as sending more missiles destroying Iran again. As a result of their killing so many.

The Question I want ask is;
Are the US government not aware of the said action done by the Israelis to Iranians. In the period while they call for peace between the two countries.?

What does the US government have to defend themselves on not siding with Israelis to send the missiles that destroyed Iran while agitating for peace? I just wish this whole peace talk is genuine. And I hope these whole thing doesn't lead to world war three.

Re: Raising children in this current society
by
Sarah Jordan
on 21/02/2024, 13:34:39 UTC
How the society is now one has to be extremely careful with the way we bring up our children and then no body can raise our children better not even their teachers who spend most time with them
In this jet age they ( children) learn very fast from as early as zero years..
Parents needs to be alert with the activities of their children until they get to adulthood
But in all prayer is the strongest weapon
it's not a very easy task in raising our children in this current society. Why because as parents one needs to create time for their children. These days we see how most children behave. They behave disrespectful and feels no one can tell them what to do and what not to do. And this is because of how some parents have raised their children. Growing up and seeing how life goes. I always tell myself I wouldn't bring up my children in the way they'll be new and scared of the outside world. Most parents have failed to educate their children on how to face the world and handle it in a manner they won't be scared. Parents should learn to educate their children on how the world works and not instilling fear in them. Those children who were caged at home are leaving reckless life when they are out of their parents home and then making wrong decisions because they feel the life they are seeing is sweet and better. It really isn't a simple task but every parent should try their best to make out time for their children, be disciplined, and educate them on the bad and good sides of life so that they won't go astray.

Re: Are children born out of wedlock is still a blessing from God?
by
Sarah Jordan
on 21/02/2024, 12:56:29 UTC
First and foremost i want to explain the meaning of "Children born out of Wedlock". It simply means a means a child born out of marriage.
So by this explanation it shows that 60% of us here were born out of wedlock. In most cases, those children are the ones that triggered their father to pay their mothers dowry. If not for them the man is not even ready to pay anything yet.
But in Africa we begin to view such children as illegitimate child. But the big question is that does God also view that child as illegitimate? I think the answer is no. Because if God sees that child as illegitimate then He will not bless that child. Then if so who are you to call a gift of God as illegitimate. They are denied access to their fathers wealth. But i bet you to do research very well you will see that most of our successful people in society are children born out of wedlock. I dont want to mention names but you that is reading this, are you not doing well for yourself? Abi Dem Born you for inside Marriage? What about those who waited to be married before they will start having kids and ends up not having one. It is only God who has program this life the way it is.
Africans should learn to accommodate every child who is their blood. Most married men are taking care of other people's kids as a result of their wife's infidelity. Is it not better to have my own child out of wedlock than to have another man's child in my house.
children born out of wedlock are very much blessings from God. It doesn't mean because they are born out of wedlock they aren't. It's just the different thinking of people. I'll say many of us born are out of wedlock. But the bible doesn't see it like that. Because every child born out of wedlock is a blessing because God doesn't reject them because of their parents sin rather he accepts and blesses them wholeheartedly. After all we see in the bible king Solomon was born out of wedlock from his father David who took another man's wife. But God still blessed him as the wisest and richest king in the bible. So for that every child born is a blessing.
